Open Job: Hazard

Oh he has a degree from UK. Not sure what it is in but I do remember he walked his senior year. Smart dude.

David’s degree is in Social Work if I’m not mistaken. Surely a school system can find a job for him with that type of degree.

I won't tell any West Virginia jokes.lol

Pretty sure he has a Masters degree too
GoHerd_22 Wrote:Not sure if Pjdoug has any insight on north eastern KY football but Grizzle would be a great hire for Hazard. Greenup once had the state’s longest losing streak right before he was hired.

Streak ended 3 years before. 2 wins 2013, 4 wins 2014. 6 wins 2015 and a playoff win. Grizzle hired 2016

Greenup has been average at best under Grizzle

Cant really argue that a little over 500 is average but average was an improvement for the program compared to 6 or 7 years ago. Mullins turned the program around and grizzle has continued the process.

I disagree!!! I bet there isn’t ten coaches in the state that can win at Greenup! To many daddy coaches! Scott came from the little school down 23 in orange! He never had the support he needed! When it comes to football Greenup is a dumpster fire!

You disagree that they have been average under Grizzle? In 4 years under him they have an overall record of 22-23 with 1 playoff win. I guarantee there are more than 10 coaches who could have went into greenup 4 years ago and came out better than 22-23 at the end.

I heard that he has been interviewed and that he was lining up possible assistants that would come with him from Bourbon.

Grizzle is 2nd in wins all-time at GC in just 4 years. Only behind TJ Maynard, another coach they ran off.

The dumpster fire he took over is now a respectable program in NEKY. Its HS football, you have to do the best with the hand you are dealt and Greenup was about as bad of a hand as he could’ve been dealt. Go back and try to find the last GC coach that had 3 winning seasons in a row and get back to me on that.. before Grizzle it had been at least 15 years!! That tells you the state of the program. So yes 3 winning seasons in 4 years is a great accomplishment at Greenup.

Respected by who in NEKY? I agree Grizzle was dealt a bad hand at Greenup county but nobody can say they are an above average program... while what all he did at Greenup is good for Greenup County, it doesn’t mean they were any good.

. Grizzle won games with a senior stacked football team that my Grandma could have won with his first year at Greenup. In the last 4 years, he has taken good football teams and erased most of what Coach Mullins built. This year was the first season that Mr. Grizzle has to own. He was responsible for the development of this class. This year’s junior and senior classes were two great football classes and we see how that turned out. I say good riddance before he takes us all the way back to the Copley days. MR. Grizzle DID NOT turn Greenup football around. COACH Chris Mullins did. Who cares where he came from as long as he goes somewhere else. Take off your orange goggles and see the truth.

Hahah your a fool if you think I wear orange goggles hahahahaha! Wait till some on here read that Hahahah! Grizzle did a fine job with what he did at Greenup......Especially being his first head coaching job!We will leave it at that
Sounds Like a bunch Of Upset Daddy's Crying on here about Coach Grizzle. another good reason they have had 13 coaches. Another Reason Raceland has not had 13 coaches because they know don't get on these sites and mouth off. I wish the best for all the area coaches it's not a easy job but they do it for the kids not the big mouths on here that sit at home and know nothing about football...
David Jones posted on Facebook today that he wasn’t going anywhere.

Grizzle hasnt done a bad job at GC but "Worst hand he could have been dealt"? Team coming off first playoff win in years, 4 straight years of the most talented classes to come through the school since the late 90's, new field surface, new field house, new uniforms, a flexible teaching position that allows for plenty of football work and an administration that has hired any staff he ask for. Dumpster fire? Im not claiming its a perfect place to coach but..........Come on man.

Agreed. Not completely a “dumpster fire” of a coaching job.
Redneck Wrote:David Jones posted on Facebook today that he wasn’t going anywhere.

Didn’t he do the same last year just days before taking the Bourbon Co job?
He met with some coach from Ohio about installing a new offense so who knows what’s going on exactly.

All you Raceland fans are pumping him up because he is a Raceland graduate. Take your blinders off.

Agree 100%! Greenup started the season with 55+ players and ended the season with a little over 30! Just barely enough to have a JFL team. Wonder why? It must be injuries, parents, no backing by the school, etc, etc, blah, blah! Lets be adults and set the blame where it needs to be. I’ll bet Ironton is dancing in the streets that they didn’t make the mistake.
It's sad that grown men want to get on a site and put down a Coach I see why EVERY coach leaves Greenup. I guess all of you are perfect at your job. Stop being cowards and get off your couch and go coach some where. These young men are a reflection of what they are being taught at home. Once again you all must have low self-esteem to what to talk so nasty about a coach he must be doing something right because some of you can't seem to stop thinking about Coach Grizzle sounds like you all have a problem. Cowards.
So...... How about them Bulldogs? Hazard have a Coach yet? I thought sure this thread was about Hazard’s head coaching search. Smh
Good point. What kind of talent and numbers does Hazard have coming back next season and in the future?

I don’t know Grizzle or the other coach mentioned but if they’ve not managed to take their team to at least a regional title game I’d keep looking...

Where are you coaching at?
Pointless West Carter. Your name tells me all I need to know. You probably don't even have a job. So keep being a coward and running your mouth. I support all the coaches in the area they work hard .

My names tells you all you need to know? What is cowardly about simply stating a fact about Grizzles tenure at Greenup County? I’m glad you support all the coaches in the area because they work hard. Hopefully they’ll all get their participation trophies too. Seriously not sure what my having or not having a job has to do with scott grizzle’s coaching ability but whatever. Were you born in 2006?
You show your ingorance...
