#55PirateFan you surely don’t believe that Breathitt County is more explosive than Belfry do you? Well I don’t now Breathitt is having an excellent season no doubt but stay in 2A and worry about those teams. That is purely opinion just like mine was about they aren’t as explosive and no one can gain anything from that.

Breathitt is a scary good team for 2A. Collins is one of the best running backs in KY, O’Hara is one of the best athletes in KY, Slaughter and Weddle are top 50 receivers, and Long is a top 10-15 lineman. The Hogg kid is a really good Dlineman as well. You just don’t see that kind of talent in 2A. Somerset, Mayfield, and LCA have more complete teams but none have that many top players. Close but not so many. I predict Breathitt to make a run for a title. Those 4 teams will be close in 2A this year.

Breathitt County being relevant is the state title picture is awesome for Kentucky Football, and especially Mountain Football!!

I don't think LCA has a player as dominant as Collins. Collins may be the best RB in 2A.

With that said, I would take the supporting cast of Barnhardt, Dearious Smith, Xavier Brown, Drew Long, and the Lebryck kid at LB as a whole for top level players.

Smith may be the best WR in 2A, Brown is one of the best all-purpose backs, Barnhardt is a Top 5 QB, Long may be the Defensive MVP for the class, and Lebryck is just a very solid LB.

I also like Somerset's group of Sheron, Grundy, Bruner, and Gilmore... when Miller was healthy I probably would take their collective skill group as well.

Mayfield and OCath also have some solid high end talent.

I do like Breathitt's best five over Beechwood's best five for sure.

Everyone is talking about offense but the real strength of this Bobcat team is the defense. That will keep them in the games against the better team's.

Breathitt top 5 players are as good as anyone in 2A. But the other support cast is what has improved so much. They have raised there game a lot!!!! The line play has been dominated. The big Deaton kid is on another level he has just killed people this year. Holcomb took over line coach has work this offense line butt off and it shows big time. They’re not the same team as they were five or six weeks ago. Our defense as whole is as good as I’ve seen at Breathitt in long long time. Sophomore QB Turner has been playing football for 1 yr. I think he is about get known in playoffs. Kid is athletic as anyone we have. Looking forward Bobcats playing in playoffs!!!!

Everyone forgets about undersized Breathitt County LB LaDaniel Whitaker. Don’t let his size fool you. He’s a beast! He’s all over the field and in on almost every tackle. The kid plays with the heart of a lion.
