13th Region summer Ball
#61
The problem with a couple teams we have no idea who will be on the floor for them. That especially holds true for Oneida. From all the rumors there could be a lot of transfers and incoming players to several schools.

I agree with Oneida. Were most of these kids who played this Summer not local kids ? I feel certain the kid who shot the 3's so well last year will be back ( he has started for them last 3 years) and if another player or 2 shows up, they could be very good. Well time will tell.
#63
From my understanding they were all local kids. Plus they were missing there best scorer. And pg.
#64
I thought the big kid who played in Lexington was from Georgia. Is that a different player?
#65
No he was an local kid
#66
Simpson?
The only non locals not playing I had were Ohuoha and Taropo. Anyone else from last year's end of season roster?
I was told Hamby wasn't with the team toward the end of last season?
#67
Simpson lives in clay co from what I was told. Enrolled late in year. Ohuoha didn’t play this summer but may be there best player.
#68
I keep hearing about 6-6 kid from ga coming but have no idea. You never know who will show up at Oneida.

Woods 17.2 Onuoha 19.1 Preston 8.5 Hamby 7.3 (did not play last few games don't know why not ) Estep 8.7 Goodwin ( one of top scores last half of season ) Frost Toropo. Who played summer ball and who didn't ? Any news on 6' 6" kid from Georgia ?
#70
Goodwin, toropo, onuoha, hamby did not play this summer. Hearing about a 6-6 kid from Georgia but would have a clue if true. Simpson is 6-6 and looked decent at times. Frost looked really good at times this summer.

Oneida had 4 good players who did not play. Still they beat and played with some pretty good teams. Looks like when these kids get back and if 6'6" kid from Georgia is true they could give people in 13th fits. Would make a fun 49th District.
#72
Very possible. But I’ve seen teams at Oneida be completely different at start of season. But most kids that played this summer and that didn’t play have been there for awhile. Plus you never know how many fresh faces that can play will come there. Sure would stir the 13th region up a bit.
#73
A parent said Hamby was no longer on the team as of late last season. I was told Goodwin didn't play either. Toropo averaged 2.2 points. Onuoho did lead in scoring at 19.1 ppg and from his name, I'm sure he's somewhere else in the summer.
Woods, Preston, Frost, Estep, Simpson, Hicks, Finley and Finley were playing in Lexington.
#74
Sure will be interesting. But adding 19.1 to this summer and they would have been hard to handle
#75
Do they keep Finley and Finley - those guys averaged 23 ppg as a tandem
#76
I wouldn’t know. Could there coach left red bird I heard. But could be tough to get eligible. But that would make Oneida really deep
#77
No disrespect intended, but it sounds like you know a lot about OBI.
They had some good games this summer and some bad ones, but they were still 9-16 against a fairly weak schedule last year. Getting to .500 would be a pretty big improvement
#78
I’m friends with one of the assistants. The coach that was there before hand never even practiced the kids. I can promise you this the new coach will have them playing twice as hard and playing defense.
#79
Another team that I see came out in the All-A this year is Jackson County and some words was floating around that they would be a surprising team this year in the 49th and could be hard challenge in the All-A. They have got a couple of kids nobody has seen unless their transfer ?
#80
I saw Jackson County at Barbourville. Harlan beat them by 19. They didn't look as strong as last year to me, but Baldwin wasn't there.

Yes with the way they played without 2 of their best players from last year they could be tough. If they have a 6'6 kid coming could be a special year for them.

Who was missing besides Onuoha?

Onuoha and Goodwin did not play Summer ball. 2nd half of last year Goodwin was one of their best players.

Can’t wait until dead period gets over. Maybe we start hearing more details from teams. Does many of them play after dead period is over.

no. july is all travel teams
#86
Well that stinks.
#87
Any more news on transfers? I’ve heard a lot with bell, south, north and Oneida. Can anyone confirm any of these.
#88
I would like to see Bell get a transfer. But I also love the talent we currently have. It will be an interesting district again.
#89
You have two headed your way..
