Pikeville 2018
#91
VICTORY FORMATION Wrote:Can Hazard be a threat to Pikeville in the district? Does Hazard have the horses to compete with the panthers?

In a word, yes.

I agree with Jetpilot, yes Hazard can beat Pikeville. These two teams will be a war when they meet and was last year. Injuries and mistakes will determine the winner in this game. Like I said before going to be a great year for football in the east this year, just hope for an injury free year for all teams but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

In 18 weeks it starts then we can really put thus thread to work ( all us couch players) and get down to some really discussions or disagreements which ever, but as usual GO PANTHERS!!!!

Pikeville has a shot at being the second best team in Pike Co. and the seventh best team in the mountains this year, which equals class A state champs.

Pikeville the best class A team in the mountains. This group has been strong since middle school, they’ve been waiting for this year. Great group!

Ok. Belfry over Pikeville I get but who are the other 5 ahead of them in your rankings?

Belfry game is at Pikeville. Belfry also has a shot at being 2nd best team in Pike Co., like they were in 2014.

This is a new era for Pikeville football, new year, new complex, new goals. We on here has set the standard high for these young men and I know they ( the young men who play for Pikeville has, too). I hope for them they improve 1 game at a time. They have a lot of work ahead of them and I hope they enjoy every minute of it because it comes and goes real fast. They have some big mountains to climb Belfry,Paintsville,LCA and Hazard and more good teams on their schedule. If they work hard and do their jobs and don’t have any bad injuries can they accomplish it that’s to be seen. I for one and know they a lot more on here are very excited about these Panthers but it’s all on them. Can’t wait to see how these young men have grown and it’s going to be a great year in football in the east this year and as always go PANTHERS!!!!!

Hazard can definitely could beat Pikeville. But that will remain to be seen.. Hazards offense should be ahead of the defense next year and defense is where a game with these two will be won. Hazard has a few holes to fill as Pikeville does not.. Hazard defense will still be good but not sure if as good as this past year. I still would of loved to seen a healthy game between the two with Battaile and Smith playing.

But if Hazard is to win against Pikeville next season it will be at Pikeville.. my early prediction is Hazard will not beat Pikeville at home in the regular season.
Do y’all think whoever comes out of the east, pikeville, paintsville, hazard, Raceland.. has the horses to run with Beechwood?

Don't know about the other teams but if it's Pikeville and Beechwood at Kroger Field I think Pikeville wins.

As everyone can see.....The Belfry game IS The Pikeville FANS Super Bowl game. They cling to that 2014 game like grim death 😂😂. I’ll give it to them.... Pikeville came ready to play and a great game plan that night. I wouldn’t bet the Farm on a repeat performance this coming year or next.

I will say this......I think the Pikeville program has a lot of momentum right now. A lot of excitement. I think going into 2020 and beyond....they’ll have a lot more opportunities to reclaim county dominance. It will be interesting to see what direction the Belfry program takes beyond 2019. IMO......full rebuild project. Regardless....it’s been a great great ride for Pirate fans young and old. 😊🅱️👍🏼🅱️

For some of the Pikeville fans this may be true, but not for me. I think they should use this as a measuring stick to see how far these young Panthers has come. I think this game shows if these young men can take a hit in the mouth and pick themselves up and give one. Do I think they can beat Belfry I surely do but that’s to be seen. Just like as you mentioned 2014 teams beat Belfry this team has some of that characteristics of that team but that year turned out not so good for Pikeville. This is not the main goal for these team in my eyes but to get to Lexington is, yes it would be a great achievement to beat Belfry but not the prize they should be looking for. Like the great coach Haywood always says to try to improve every game to achieve your goals. With all this said from an old Belfry Pirate and I mean old,one of the loves of my life plays for this Pikeville team so I will be cheering my heart out for them. I hope the best for Belfry ever game but not this game. Love to see the same results as 2015, Pikeville 1a state champs and Belfry 3a state champs but as usual go PANTHERS!!!!!

I honestly don't know one Pikeville fan that thinks this.
Just seen on the wavier wire Paintsville just pick up another good athlete from LCA, someone told me he either used to live in Paintsville or has people there not sure but definitely will help them in football and baseball I heard but as usual go PANTHERS!!!!
Heard yesterday Pikeville is Bach to 8 games Calloway County canceled and the game with the team from Ohio is not happening either.
Would love to see the Raceland/Pikeville regular season game come back. Good gates, good crowds, mutual yet hard hitting respect on the field and just over all great playoff type atmosphere early in the season.

Absolutely ridiculous. Pikeville made the 7+ hour trip there last year, and they wuss out on coming here. Guess the new coach gonna schedule games he thinks he can be competitive in rather than focus on playing good competition to get better. Isn’t the new coach a former Mayfield guy? Oh well, I got faith in the staff to find us a good home game to replace them.

You Belfry folk sure do love to flatter yourselves...😂
I hope the coaches are able to find games. It would be unfair to these boys to be shunned 2 regular season games
I can get 2 Pikeville games in 5 minutes. I have faith it will happen.
jetpilot Wrote:I can get 2 Pikeville games in 5 minutes. I have faith it will happen.

Hurry up Jet and get them I heard they where talking about going to Knoxville and play the team that Belfry played a couple of years ago and that was mentioned I promise.
Not sure if it's been filled, but it looks like Point Pleasant, WV may need two games. September 21st and October 5th are open. they're usually a good West Virginia AA team.

I think you’re seeing things through Angry Red colored glasses. Pikeville plays Belfry to get better for the Post season. Same reason you guys played Ashland and Ironton all those years...Were those games your Super Bowl?

nothing angry on my end....go back and read my post. In fact, I paid your program several compliments.
