Anyone here of CAL's travel plan? Come down day before or travel day of?
Maybe they come down and watch our Turkey day practice

I look for this to be a hard hitting game. Mayfield has the edge being at home.

just watched the most recent Cal vs Desales game. We all already know how dangerous Wright is. I like their line play on both sides and their defense as a whole is excellent. I think this is a 50/50 game but being at Mayfield I will hope this gives Mayfield the advantage

Mayfield is not going to get beat 49-14.
In fact, I think they win the game. I will give you my prediction after a comment or two.
2 facts
1. Mayfield fans are passionate and they have trucks parked on the same side as visitors. They will cuss at other teams players on sideline and drink heavily. Cops will sit and watch them do it. Part of the game they are going to have to deal with. I donât think Owensboro Catholic did a good job of handling this.
2. If CAL defaces the logo. That would be a stupid idea. Wright is good enough to win this game on his own, but if you get Mayfield fired up they will win. They think they were cheated last year in this game cause their LB was suspended.
With all this I have Mayfield 28 CAL 21. I almost went 35-21 Mayfield but Wright is going to be hard to stop. But I think they will stop him enough

I'm so sick and tired of people saying Wright can beat Mayfield all by his self. The young man is good don't get me wrong But it will have to be a team effort to beat Mayfield. If mayfield does what I've been hearing Wright will be a non factor most of the game. Remember when you hit our time zone you will be in CARDINAL NATION a world of red and black. Good luck and safe travels.

I didnât mean literally by himself. If he has a great game the CAL will win,but I think mayfield will have athletes to stop him. I was impressed with Mayfield secondary. They stopped the Hamilton kid from OC and South Warren couldnât do that. Mills kid had a good game but he is not the caliber of Wright. Wright will have to have a 12 receptions for 200 yard and 3 TD night in order for CAL to have a chance. Can this happen, sure, but itâs going to take a big effort from him. CAL will have to have another WR make plays for them. Just my opinion.
11-22-2017, 10:19 PM
Which team has the better line? That's the key. Putting pressure on CAL's qb and making him make mistakes and visa versa. We have a ton of athletes can they cover them?
11-22-2017, 10:31 PM
From my sources on the inside.... they will let Wright get his 3 TDs and keep them at that... if mayfield can score more than the 21-28 range, then they win the game

Do you really think the "Drunk Zone" makes a difference? 😃 When the momentum swings and the Cards are pushed they get tighter than the kids ever thought about being.

The boosters will do a whole hog cook and all the fixings. The money raised will go to help the family of a child that has been diagnosed with cancer. There will also be others cooking I'm sure.

#1 scoring offense in the state, Mayfield vs #2 defence in the state, Cal.. at 13 games in the Cardinals have amassed 642 total points avging 49.4 pts per game allowing only 14.5 points per game defensively ...were as Cal has only allowed 108 points defensively 8.3 points per game an averages scoring 29.5 pts per game... The makings of a Hell of a game.... ! Which one is going to overcome the other... !!?

WOW! 108 points in 13 games? Hmmm this might change my mind. I think the only thing that changes is the score, but same outcome. I think it's 20-17 Mayfield.

Mayfield has only been held to less than 40 points in one game. That was when we were very banged up at key areas and not in War Memorial. As far as those who dissed our schedule earlier, look not. 6a McCracken had winning record and really shouldn't have lost in the playoffs. I think they took Daviess lightly (which of course they didn't us), 5a Graves had winning schedule and both #1 and #2 seeds in their district had a real hard time beating them, 2a TN Union City is in semis, 3a PT 2nd round playoffs, 3a Caldwell Regional finals, 3a Corbin still alive. And still averaging over 40 points per game. Plus, a lot of stuff hasn't been shown yet. A lot of stuff, I promise.

Mayfield had another successful Thanksgiving day practice?

This game reminds me of a Mayfield / Mccracken game when they had Hugh's. Keep the ball out of Wright's hands limit his touches , play solid defense and spread the ball around with our playmakers. The games at Mayfield and should have a big crowd.

The difference in last week's game with O Cath was Mayfield's DEFENSE. I prognosticate based on what I see and the Mayfield D has been the difference all year. Say what you want about running backs, 2 QB's, receivers... The difference is D for the Cards. 38.3 points per game was OC's average on offense going into last Friday's game and big red held them to 7. The Aces had a bit over 100 yards passing and were below zero on their running game... for the game. What was the Williams kid averaging? Anyway, I know CAL is a different animal but it's still an animal. Our team just has to cut off it's oxygen. Safe travels to all involved. Mayfield by 20.
