Top players in the Mountains

Dr.Basketball Wrote:She is definitely a transfer from Middlesboro but what is wrong with that. What is wrong with transferring, if it's in your kids best interest? Not one thing. It obviously paid off, she has signed with UK and definitely a top player in the state. Obviously King Commodore is not a true Commodore fan, just trying to passive aggressively attack the Proffitts lol....

She has been at Harlan County High School since the first day she was in high school. Every kid in the school went somewhere else before high school.

Her mom who was a basketball star at Harlan High School, was hired from Middlesboro as a girls' basketball coach. So, rather than commute 50 miles one way to work, they chose to move back to Harlan County. Since she was living with her parents, Blair entered HC as a Freshman, and started basketball there.

This is not a transfer; however, I find it hysterical than a 14th regional fan is pointing accusatory fingers at ANYBODY who changes schools even if it was/wasn't a transfer!!!

It was a legal move and an entry level of high schools. Perhaps that is why you are confused.

So who are you saying made a transfer that wasn't legal???? Because that's what you are doing
#34
Hey Dr basketball you are wasting your time arguing with this bunch lol if you hurt their feelings or prove granny bear wrong about anything she will remove you from the site, lol you should know when something is fixed

HCS Wrote:Please. She was a second-team all-stater last year and has played with one of the top AAU teams in the state. Playing at Harlan County didn't get Green the scholarship offers and playing at South didn't get Collett her offers. It's all about the spring and AAU. It's not 1975 anymore.

She played on a top AAU team but she didn't play on their top team that they have at her age group. New flash, I never said them playing at their high school got them offers? I know for a fact any legit D1 offer any kid gets normally comes from AAU.

You can't accurately tell me what I'm doing. And you are wrong about your accusation. I was referring to the transfers in the 14th region that happen all the time. Some legal; most not.

Complaints like this are reason to suspend you Moon Eye. I'm gonna look over it because I'm sure you've never read the rules. I would advise you to do just that, or you will go the way of Megget.
#37
Moon Eye, you have a great point.

Unfortunately Coach, you are right. It's all about AAU now. It's not the best players, that know how to win and get their team as far as they can. Players like Jordan Brock are way more valuable than the hype that comes with AAU
#38
Moonie seems to be sensitive about the transfer issue!

Didn't Cordia get in the news for something like that?
There were quite a few other discussions about 14th Region transfers over the past few years. Maybe if you look back over the threads you could fine one or two or a hundred.

Pick another kid.
Brock played AAU for KY Premier.
Many more college coaches watched her play for KY Premier than they did for Harlan.

I'm a county fan, but good Lord Jordan was a joy to watch. I'm gonna miss that girl playing this year!!

Not only was she a great technical talent, she had so much ball sense when she ran the floor.

My point exactly!!! She should have had better offers. Come watch kids when the money is on the line. Don't learn anything from AAU games. Basketball is over 50% mental and making the right decisions at very important parts of critical games. AAU can never simulate that. Sorry

No you aren't maroon. I meant what I said.

What would you consider to be a better offer for her?
#48
^He doesn't care about her offers. Apparently AAU didn't show his kid enough respect, so he's trying to diminish AAU ball.
#49
See what I meant by what I said about our program?

But again this week, what about them Dores! Perry County Football is rolling! No crazies on there, just a great group of parents that know their role! Great group of kids too!

Blair Green and Jordan Brock both great players that made the mountains proud! Good luck to them both this year.
#50
Elizabeth Williams and Anna Keeton from Paintsville have to be in the mix somewhere.
#51
So who all does these mountain kids have offers from? I think we need to instill a new rule. If you brag about how good someone is, then show the trophies of the offers off. Now is a good time to start being alot has been doing alot of talking.

Its a good place to start dont you think? I am the number 1 Commodore fan in Perry County. I support all the sports and have for more years than you and will be here when you and your posse are gone.

Coach03 Wrote:Ally Collett has 4 D1 offers... To my understanding she would have the second most other than Green which is playing at UK next year? I've not seen some of these kids play but other than high school stats, I think you would have to rate these players on college scholarships. I've heard the Gibson girl is legit but just doesn't get the proper exposure. So I'd say Green, Collett, Gibson.

Why didn't she get the proper exposure. She played for the same organization Green did.

Aau not looking so good now that they are involved in the big scandal

some of this is just plain humorous....

I would say Blair Green is indeed a transfer. She started 2 years at Middlesboro before she went to Harlan co. There's nothing negative implied by saying she did transfer. She had more than a legitimate reason. She's a heck of a player and had her mom stayed at Middlesboro, she would still be signing with Kentucky. Her high school team and her high school stats had nothing to do with UK's offer....

Adidas schools in trouble. Just look at Pitino and Jurich. Gone. Just like you will be after this year back to Letcher. :lmao:
