I don't know if it will be the same type of beat down and humiliation that another West Virginia foe, Cabell Midland, put on the Pirates a couple years ago when they blew the pirate ship completely out of the water. I wish the Pirates luck, but I'm afraid this one will be over before the ship even sets sail.
I think Belfry has an uphill climb in this one, but a couple points:
- Yes CM was a 6-5 team last year... but they were a 6-5 team who beat Huntington the very next week
- CM is also considered one of the early top contenders in WV this year coming off that 6-5 team
- That game two years ago was a beatdown, but let's not try to downplay how good that CM team was. That was arguably the best Midland team in school history and even though they didn't win the title they were undefeated until losing to Capital in a game everyone considered an upset.
That Midland team was as dangerous on Offense as they were on Defense and had four guys go on to play D-1 football. Huntington will certainly give Belfry fits with their Offense but traditionally speaking they are not a dominant defensive team.
- Belfry is going to need all the homefield advantage they can get and will need to control the clock. If they can hold on to the ball I think they have a puncher's chance. With that said, if I had to make a prediction I would say Huntington exploits some early season green defenders and beats Belfry 35-17.

I hate to keep getting off topic, but here goes. I wasn't down playing how good Midland was. I simply stated (A.) The year they dominated Belfry they didn't even win a state title or even make it to the title game for that matter (B.) Someone called them a powerhouse and I stated that IMO to be considered a powerhouse you should occasionally win a state title which they have yet to. Also Huntington played Midland much tougher than Belfry in 2015. Huntington does occasionally beat Midland.
For some of the Belfry fan base to act like my prediction of a Huntington win being ridiculous is quite funny which is how this whole debate began.

I don't think it's the HHS win prediction that set some off... I think it's how you so articulately began your post with "Huntington Rolls".

Well, I think Huntington will roll so I typed Huntington rolls. I don't think that is against the rules on here.

What division does Huntington play in? Is it equivalent to 3A in Kentucky? If it is more equivalent to 5a or 6a here then I would argue that they have a much tougher road and titles should not be a major factor in considering overall strength of a program.

Huntington would be 5 or 6A in KY. Midland is the biggest HS in WV.

Midland is a huge school, but huge school or not they simple have not won a state title. To call them a powerhouse when they haven't won a title is a stretch. Huntington plays in 3A like Midland which is the highest classification in West Virginia.

You are correct you are within the rules but picking someone to "roll" and just picking them to "win" are two different things but anyway....two point about this game.
1. Belfry rarely gets rolled at home. Their record is pretty amazing since the CAM opened in 2005. If my memory is correct they have only lost maybe 10
games at home with 4-5 where I would say they got rolled.
2. Even though Belfry lost a lot, there are still a lot of good players back and they have a lot of championship pedigree and pride and Belfry is the best big-game team around and IMO this is a big game, not like a big playoff game, but a game where there are quite a few questions to begin answering about this team.

Midland's enrollment is 1,910. Huntington's is 1,658. Both would be 6A in Kentucky.

Well, I liked typing my "Huntington Rolls" post and I will continue to make similar posts. If it bothers you maybe you shouldn't read my posts, but you're obviously free to do as you please as am I as long as we stay within the rules.
As far as point 2 goes although not a Pike County Bowl game, some might argue the Midland game a couple years ago was a big game.

I do believe there's some sandbagging going on. If Belfry can't handle Huntington they would want no part of Mingo Central.

I said a few years ago EKUAlum05 reminded me of Lou Holts years ago when he coached Notre Dame. He constantly makes Belfry opponents sound like they could win the Superbowl, and that Belfry has no chance. Lol. He's a cool cat though.

Them City Boys will find out just what mountain football is all about when they go to Pond Creek to take on the mighty Red Army. The atmosphere and Belfry's physical play will be too much for the highlanders. The Iron Curtain reigns supreme in this one.

Belfry will have its hands full with a good Huntington team. Home field advantage and Belfrys physical style of play will hopefully for them control the game. Huntington has a stud Lineman and big time receivers. Belfrys ground and pound versus a balanced offensive attack, which style will win out. Also Martinsburg over close to Washington DC is the powerhouse in WVA.
