Perry kids ruled eligible
hitter Wrote:any grade schooler can go to any high school but if you get right down to the facts then chavies is a feeder school for perry. go to the board of education and see. my information is from a board employee. if a high school also has a grade school then that is there feeder program but if not then the main high school is where they would go. and by the way any buckhorn high schooler can come and play football at perry central if they wanted to play. they wouldn't just have to come to perry so they could play football, they are allowed already

Wrong. You can not go to Buckhorn and play football at Perry.
You have to be enrolled at the HighSchool you attend to play at that school. Buckhorn and John Noble just out hustles everyone and Noble one of the top coaches in the Region he gets 100% from his kids and they like playing for him thats a big factor why hes been so successful.
stripedofficial Wrote:Wrong. You can not go to Buckhorn and play football at Perry.

you better check your facts. if there is two high schools under the same board of education and one has a football team and the other doesn't then the students at the school that doesn't have a program can play for the school that does. when I went to dilce combs I the coaches at napier tried to get 2 or 3 of us to come to napier and play. look it up
Case BL-4-7- Is it permissible for a student to participate
for a member school while enrolled full-time in
another school that does not offer a particular sport?
No. A student desiring to participate shall be enrolled as a full-
time student and receiving credit through the member school
at which participation is desired, or be a student at a “feeder”
school in the same school district.
KHSAA bylaws are online. Anyone can go to the website and read them. I would do that before asking someone else about eligibility, transfer, or other facts and issues. I would do that before posting what someone else told me. Most of the time it's incorrect information. It becomes the infamous "they" told me.
My senior year at pcc we won the first game and got beat by the champion that year Warren Central.
Just talked to the athletic director and he said they changed the rule a few years ago and you all were right. You can't now but a few years ago you could. He said they changed it because of insurance liability

Pretty sure thats wrong too. Warren Central was first rd. I dont think Perry has every won a game at Rupp.

Perry Central defeated Morgan County in the first round in 2004 before losing to Warren Central in the 2nd round.
ok. I think they lost to warren in the first round around 98-2000 if im not mistaken. Thats what I was remembering.

Edit: it was iriquios or however its spelled. I honestly didnt know perry had ever won a game at Rupp.
Paparazzi Wrote:I find it odd that nobody on this site has mentioned hazard getting two kids eligible the last two years after Christmas. Hell they played half a year at other schools then transferred and played after Christmas. Wow! If I wanted to transfer hell just go to hazard. You are eligible no questions asked.

I find it odd that no matter what the discussion is, you have to bring Hazard into it! I saw a quote on Facebook that made me think of you;
"Winners focus on winning and losers focus on winners." What are you constantly focused on? Did you think those kids may have moved in district?

Who gives a sh!t?
^ He was replying to the person that said Perry had never won a game at Rupp.
The kid that plays for Perry is 20 years old Lol. It's crazy Perry has spent 50,000 dollars on lawyer fees. They'll end up like Cordia and not be able to compete for a few years when they get caught.

I don't think that quote applies here considering Hazard hasn't won anything in a while.

This is the basketball fourm smart guy. Hazard hasn't done anything in a while in basketball. So like I said your quote does not apply in this situation.

PCC state
98/99 PRP 76-59
99/2000 Iroquois 69-54
2003/04 Morgan Co. 45-66, Warren Central 55-31
04/05 E-town 70-60
10/11 Wayne Co 68-58
I can't remember if it was my FR or SO year PCC lose to Greenup Co. 96/97 or 97/98. I think it might be my 96/97.

since 96/97 my FR year. Hazard won 5 region title and PCC 6 Region titles. people can say the same thing about PCC. what have they done in basketball. you can put KCC in there with Hazard and PCC also, KCC got 5 or 6 Region title in that time also.
these 3 teams will win the region most of the time. but every now and then a team like Buckhorn, Powell Co., ect will get lucky and win the region.
Can perry make noise in the sweet 16 that's really all I want to know?

Too many times Hazard and Perry where the best teams in the region only to meet in the 1st round of district. That weakens the 14 region considerably

I don't know the in's & out's of this situation......

But if you guys are gonna discuss this, you need to come to the table with Facts. Not 'hearsay' or saying something you heard from somebody else.

That's totally the plan!

Agreed! Happened several times over the years, the blind draw is a cruel mistress, but I don't see the 54th seeding anytime soon.

That is why the Super-regional is the best idea. Still have the district tournaments, but all teams make the region and it's seeded with how you play all year. The 15th will pilot it next season and if it goes well it could be adopted by all regions after that.

yes they can. under KHSAA if the high school you go to don't have a sport, another school does. you can play sport for the other school. just take Hazard and Buckhorn either one of them have a wrestling team. if someone at either school want to do wrestling. they can go to there school and wrestler for PCC. that what someone told me. I am not going to read all of them rules to find out.

You are correct. If the school you go to don't have a sport you can go to another school to play that sport. There are kids that live in Mt.Sterling, Bath and other places that don't have a swim team so they go to schools in Lexington that do for just that sport. Seems like a lot of people don't know KHSAA rules they just want to act like they know. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call KHSAA and they will gladly help you.
