Big boy football coming up!
Belfry put it on Catholic last year but I don't expect history to repeat itself for multiple reasons
1. That game was at Belfry and now it is the Pirates having to ride 5 hours on a yellow school bus.
2. I think KnoxCath overlooked the quality of Belfry last year. I believe they felt they were going to show up and the little old rural county school would roll over and Belfry was up 3 TD's before they could blink.
3. KnoxCath was not ready for Belfry's physicality. They had played exclusively teams that ran the spread and when Belfry rolled power at them it caught them off guard. Last year KnoxCath played about 4 or 5 guys both ways, this year they only play a couple.
4. That loss was the turning point for Catholic. After they won the State Finals they pointed to that specific game as when the Coach challenged them and told them essentially that what they saw is how a Championship football team plays like. After that loss Catholic has not lost a game and three of their losses last year have already been avenged.
5. I think both teams relish this as being a headliner game and a sense of pride at steak. Both teams are striving for greatness this year and both want that distinction of being considered among the best in their state regardless of class.

So KnoxCath's last loss was to us?

I have watched film on them and I've still not seen anything that would get them ready for the physicality of this game there scout team can't there offense is much improved but there defense is quick but has holes to run and that's what we going to do and control the clock I guess we get to see just who is the toughest and I NEVER bet against our boys so Belfry wins in Knoxville

If I was Morristown West coach I would refuse to get the win that way. If I heard correctly the freshman didn't enter the game till late when Knoxville Catholic was up big, and started subbing. I'd hate to get a win when my team was beat down, just because a freshman came in with a few minutes left.

Belfry will make KC play physical football. You can't play finesse football and expect to beat Belfry. We can go on long drives and run it down your throat or score in 20 seconds....
Belfry -35
KC - 21

Can Knoxcath stop our offense...?...can BELFRY stop knoxcaths offense...this will determine the game...Belfry didn't shock them last year...we played our type ball...we are physical/brutal on both sides of the ball...

First of all, Belfry is a great team... They pay the most disciplined game I've seen a high school team play... They get to their blocks, well coached, they run north and south, and have excellent speed for a EKY team. Possible they play 15 games this year. That said, they can be beaten in any given night... Turnovers, injuries and a defense that bear crawls could be their demise. I was present at a scrimmage where strong DL that knew how to bear crawl gave all those D1 recruits up front fits.. Seen them piled up with my own eyes, I don't have to ask a soul. Y'all Belfry peeps for the most part are glass running over instead of glass half full..... You can be beat! And you will be beat sooner or later. #realtalk

If you are talking about the Rock scrimmage you do realize one of those D1 guys wasn't even playing, right? Dotson was held out.
Not necessarily on the line but they also held out three more key starters that scrimmage in Hall, Wellman, and Woolum as well.

I thought you had 4.... Not 1

I wasn't nessecarily aiming at you EKU. But, maybe I am now. Excuses will get you nowhere. Y'all are good! Best team in 3a. But seriously, anything can happen...... All giants fall at some point.. It's gonna be a harder fall with your attitudes.... We can't lose. We too big... Can they really stop us... That is foolish talk.

Belfry doesn't lose to predominantly passing teams.

Haven't you endured a few Losses to Breathitt when they predominantly passed? I think you have.. Y'all have no argument. Be proud of your team! You guys win.. But let's not get crazy.

You ain't telling me nothing I don't already know
All it takes is that one night in November to change everything. Look at Bowling Green two years ago losing to a Graves County team they should have beat by 5 TD's.
Belfry also has had their share of surprising upsets as well. 2007 against Central in the Finals and 2008 vs. Breathitt in the Semi's come to mind. You can even look at the regular season game vs. Lawrence County last year to see what happens when belfry doesnt bring their focus. Pikeville two years ago as well.
That scrimmage is actually a good example. Rockcastle came out treating it like it was the State Semi-Finals and Belfry treated it like it was, well, a scrimmage. Rock was able to compete at the LOS because they were fired up, which goes to show what can happen when a team's mind is not right.
With all that said, fans on BGR aren't going to determine the outcome of games.. that's up to the players and coaches. What I do know is if Belfry brings their A Game the only 3A team in KY that can keep a running clock off them is Corbin. As long as this team stays focused and healthy the sky is literally the limit.

If Belfry wins by that much you can count me in on thinking Belfry may be the best in the state all classes, they would at lest be in the conversation with Male, Trinity, and Bowling Green.

Both of these are very good teams. Who ever makes the least amount of turn overs will win this game. I will say a low scoring game 21 to 14!! Belfry! But could easily go the other way!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently, there's a rumor floating that this game may be televised by ESPN....take it with a grain of salt.

Rockcastle played that scrimmage like they'd get rings if they won (except they didn't keep score)

That's funny if Phelps was to put a man in every gap they would be hard to run on but we would just throw over the top like we did on Rockcastle it wasn't much of a scrimmage it was there Super Bowl it was practice for us

To be honest, it was embarrassing. Belfry got better that day by playing against a team who was outmanned but had some players and did whatever it takes to stay close, like a real game. All Rockcastle's players learned was how to crawl around on the ground. I'm sure that'll help them a lot and get better from that... Because you know, the idea of a scrimmage is to win... Not get better.

No doubt....at some point Belfry's gonna get beat. Whether it's this year, next year, this Friday, next Friday....it's gonna happen. All good things will come to an end at some point. Belfry fans know this. We've been around good football for a long, long time. Just relishing the precious present. These runs don't come often....and with the present economic state in Eastern KY....the run will definitely end at some point. We understand that.
That being said....in all my years of coaching, officiating and being around this game....I've never seen anyone cling to a scrimmage game (not even a victory in the scrimmage game) as much as you. :lame:
In the words of Allen Iverson....."its practice man"...............

just funnin with ya!
