I agree. Glad he was willing to do that for the team. So have Ratliff and Adkins been taking snaps? Has Ratliff been able to be there due to baseball? Does Adkins play baseball?

Baker story is sad , Ton of rumors last year of things just like this happening with him and being swept under the rug .sure looks like more than rumors now

An 18 year old kid gets arrested (away from his hometown) for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, marijuana possession, careless driving, failure to provide a vehicle insurance card and instructional permit violations

He's not the only college student-athlete to get arrested for something like this.

BUT if this is a pattern and he gets in more legal trouble, then it's time to hit the PANIC button.

He's too good of a talent to ruin his scholarship for a childish mistake like this.

Not taking up for his actions, just don't want to see another kid loose a scholarship for being an idiot.

Like I said there was many many rumors of this type of behavior while at Ashland and getting by with it . A rumor is just that a rumor but when he goes outside the area and not there but 2-3 months and this happens sure makes a rumor seem more believable

They are going to build a District 3rd place finish team!! That is their version of dynasty right??

Third? That's being kind...
1. JC
2. Ashland
3. Greenup
4. Rowan
5. BOYD
6. East Carter

They MIGHT finish above Rowan but no higher.

I have a feeling they might actually surprise some people this year. We will have some growing pains, but in the end, we might be a little better than some people think. At least I hope... We'll have to wait and see.

Who all does Ashland return for the upcoming season?

Not much. All O Line and D Line are gone. New QB, running backs and receivers. Line backers will be new as well as secondary. It should be very interesting.
#74
I think they'll be successful. It should be fun seeing them open the offense back up with the QBs they have.

What is Ashland schedule this season?

If I'm not mistaken, it's the same as last year, only the games are reversed. Other than the Raceland game, it's at Ashland.

I believe Boyd will pull the upset and beat Ashland. I think its a foregone conclusion that JC will blow Ashland out and Greenup should handle them well.

Raceland will dominate Ashland up front and that's where games are won or lost

anotherfootballnut Wrote:Raceland will dominate Ashland up front and that's where games are won or lost

Ashland hasn't had a real good big line in years. Last one I can remember that was a good line was when Ian Holbrooke was Quarterback.

On paper Raceland should be the favorite in the Ashland game this year but the major hurdle to overcome will be the mental battle. There have been several times in the past few years that Raceland should have won but couldn't finish the job. They have to believe they can beat the Tomcats and until Raceland plays like they are supposed to win, Ashland will continue to win the series.

Last years Ashland line was pretty dang good

anotherfootballnut Wrote:Last years Ashland line was pretty dang good

Correct, last year's offensive line was really good. To have two 1000 yard rushers and another with over 600 yards rushing, is quite a feet. They did extremely well. Granted, this years CATS are young and inexperienced, however if they play like that can, they should win. It will mainly depend on the line play on both sides of the ball.

Last years offensive line was one of if not the best offensive line at Ashland in the last 15 years. This season I think the young Tomcats will be very hungry to prove themselves. I'm just hoping Coach Love and staff can settle on a quarterback soon. From what I'm hearing the Ratliff kid has been very impressive in summer camp.

Now that's funny. Boyd over Ashland is absurd.

Got to watch a few of their practices and so far pretty impressed with QBs and OL. Burgess if he can stay healthy is a beast. Wars need work. RBs look good too. Honestly don't know which QB they go with. Think they could possibly play both. Ashland will more then likely throw it a whole lot more then past seasons. As to Mr. Baker, he screwed up and being coddled his entire life thinks he can get by with anything and face minor or no consequences. He hopefully has learned this lesson and will have a productive career. GO CATS!!

2012 with Armstrong Ellis Walters Justice and OBryan were better

Would that be Braxton Ratliff? If I'm not mistaken, he is a TRANSFER. Uh oh Tomcat, don't tell me that Ashland accepts transfers to play for them. Haven't you been trolling the Paintsville threads, whining and crying about them having transfers on their team.
