Preseason Top 10 3A
#31
We are only 30 days away from 2 a days. This top ten should really start to become a little more of the focus soon. I can't wait.

I didn't know that it should be a good hirer for Corbin
#33
I didn't know Wayne was now at Corbin either. Who all is on the Corbin staff? Any transfers?
#34
Corbin is putting together a great staff with Greer, Mills and Duncum
#35
I wonder how long it will be before Mills wants to get back into the head coaching job again I thought he did a good job at Bell

He did a great job they will miss him. It won't take them long to figure that out.

No you don't... The outcome will be the same as last season game vs Lex Cath. Belry vs Corbin, IMO should be the state 3A championship.. But of course that can't be.

That outcome would be fine with all Belfry fans!:biggrin::biggrin:

DUH of course Belfry fan likes seeing the winning outcome. I was just referring to what 99Pirate dude said about seeing Boyle Co vs. Belfry in the championship. No brainer, that Belfry and Corbin are the toughest and best team in the class 3A. Just to bad they are in the same west side bracket.

IMO, Central is also in the mix with Belfry and Corbin. I know they lost some quality talent.....but they have a tremendous amount in reserve. I look for Central to rebound and really make a push toward Bowling Green.

I'm telling ya'll to watch out for Waggoner

Return most of the team and was a Top 10 caliber squad the 2nd half of the season once the Harper boys came. Have two guys who will be 4* D-1 prospects and Manny Harper will be playing college football somewhere.

I would like to see it because it's two of the all time great programs and they have never played for a championship I don't know if they have ever played

I was thinking about them when everybody was posting there 3A top 10 they will be in the mix for sure

Hate to say it, but I expect this to be a down year for Boyle. Maybe they can get hot at the right time and do well in the playoffs, but I expect it to be a 9-4 type season. They have a great team coming up in a couple years however.

Mark down on your calendar 2 week of season at Corbin,
Corbin vs Central
Waggoner vs Knox Central
You will see 3 top 10 in 3A!

Should be great games no doubt

3A pre season, mid season, and post season rankings :

1. Belfry
2. It doesn't matter
3. Why are you still reading this?

1. Belfry
2.Corbin
3.Boyle County
4.Louisville Central
5.Lexington Catholic
6.E-Town
7. Russell
8. Waggner
9. Breathitt County
10. Taylor County

You do know that Taylor is 4A, right?

As for my top 10:

1. Belfry
2. Boyle
3. Caldwell
4. Lex Cath
5. Corbin
6. Central
7. Adair
8. E-town
9. Russell
10. Waggener or Tilghman. I can't decide.

But, 3A boils down to 1 thing- Who earns the right in the West Region, to be the sacrificial lamb to Belfry? The only bet anyone else has at winning, would be if something happened and Belfry couldn't field a team.

Just wondering, if you could combine 2 teams in 3A that could come close to Belfry what two teams would you combine. And you can't use Belfrys 2nd string cause they would beat anyone in 3A also. Just curious.

Corbin and Central. Easy. A perfect combination of strength and speed.

And even then, it would be a great match-up.

Yet those aren't you're two best behind belfry.

I think Boyle and Caldwell will be better overall teams, but I think the combined pieces of Corbin and Central would make a great team.

I think that both of those teams have more concerns than Boyle or Caldwell, but would be fixed if combined. If that makes any sense.

How about we take all the WV kids off of Belfrys team then see if they can even make the Top 10?

Can't expect not to get some posts like that in response to the arrogant posts by Belfry fans...

Of course, Belfry has kids from West Virginia, but can you honestly blame them for wanting to play for a top notch program, who is coached by a Hall of Famer. Kids are going to gravitate to programs who compete for championships and give them added recognition, it's as simple as that. I'm not jumping on the Belfry bandwagon, but I'm growing tired of all of the jealousy directed towards the program. People in Eastern Kentucky need to be proud of what Belfry has accomplished, because if our economy doesn't get any better in the near future, a lot of local high schools may not have enough players or community support to field a team, due to the mass exodus of people leaving the area to find employment.
