Nicholas County is the only team that intrigues me. They return a lot and I plan on keeping my eye on them.

1A top 6 teams should be very fun to watch this year. I think the title stays in the east for the next 2 or 3 years.

I can agree. But 2016 a west team returns a ton but they will travel the 4th round and have to win on the road.

Pikeville put up 5,912 yards of total offense. They return 2,100 yards of offense for 2016. Pikeville loses 3,812 yards of offense.

Boys are hard at work, nice turnout so far for the summer practices. Can see some nice gains from off season weight room work. Boys seem to be excited about the challenge ahead of defending their championship. Obviously, some real important pieces gone now due to graduation, but I like this team too. I've got faith in Coach Mac and staff to find the right pieces and develop the depth behind it. Hoping the confirmed schedule drops soon so we know for a fact what the road will look like.

QB Wyatt Battaille has been invited to the Gunslinger Challenge in Knoxville, TN, a competition among 40 top QBs by grade level. Wyatt is a rising Junior (class of 2018). Heard one of the linemen is currently in the tryout process for the Team USA football team too. So some good things happening for the youngsters individually as well as seeming to have had a strong off season and early part of summer practice before the dead period.

Pikeville returns 15 juniors, 4 sophomores and 10 freshmen.. 29 kids not counting in coming freshmen.

I can't remember for sure, but definitely in the neighborhood of about 10
