Williams out at Pikeville?
#61
Tow things. People disliked Booher because he left. When he was at Valley the bleachers were packed every game, he hung a ton of banners, and the people could boast of regional and state championships as opposed to district and All A regions. So my question is, why would you not want him in charge of basketball at Pikeville? You are complaining about him doing what he does best and has proven to be sucessful at.

McCoy is a good coach and has kept the boys at ER together and improving but on the girls side it's not as normal as it seems
#63
I don't think it's Pikeville fans complaining.

I was over in Pike County working this morning and heard that Elisha Justice has already turned the Pikeville job down. Also the some person said look for Pike County Central job to open in the next few weeks.
Any truth?

I've heard the same thing about Pike Central, and that they are interested in Williams.
#66
I've heard Williams and his family plan on moving to Johnson County after this school year is over
#67
Several schools interested in them if he decides to stay in coaching.....have not heard any sound proof that Pike Central in interested... Good fit as they could stay right where they are.......

Because he told everyone that he didn't want to coach anymore. Then he was given over $100,000 to be AD and ast principal. Then he coached middle school. The he ran off a great family to bring in a young pup coach who has done nothing. Or better yet to coach again himself. Lots of Pikeville alumni want some answers but everyone seems to be hiding. The biggest surprise is why the principal, who I know from our Johns Creek days, sits back and let's Booher bully him. Dave Thomas is better than that! Somebody better jump in and save Pikeville before they add royal blue to the uniforms.

One thing that is really hard to believe is how in the world is the PHS score board to not see through the salaries that are way out of line....until they wake up and smell the roses nothing is going to change....

Back on track? On track for what? Do you really expect more over there than what they were getting with Williams? Wake up. Football is king, baseball is queen. He's not my buddy but you just don't do people like that on the high school level. If you don't think he did a great job with that program with the resources he had then you are on crack.

Wrong.

Chief hope this not true.

"Rumors circulate Williams found out he was no longer coach when another 15th Region coach called Williams to tell him a person who identified himself as the new Pikeville coach was calling to schedule games."

LOL

This isn't going to go how most people feel or think it is, unless you think Booher is going be the coach.

No one takes job, Booher will be coach.

No matter who is hired, Booher will be coaching that team, bottom line.
#75
Yes Booher will be in charge.... He has a son and daughter ready to play basketball...

I'm surprised that Pikeville has let this go on. Williams deserved better treatment. At least do it professionally. I think people forget how and why Rodney Rowe wasn't coaching the boys at SV anymore. He was pushed out so the next coach could step in. If I'm not mistaken Rodney's wife would have been fired if he didn't step down.

Chief located new smoke signal from across the plains. Me was unaware of Pikeville AD's previous records before coaching SV.

(2003-2004) Belfry 11 wins 17 losses

(1998-1999) Henry County 10 wins 16 losses

This all starts and ends with the superintendent.

Only in Pike County do we want the least quilified people in control. No one currently associated with Basketball in this region except for maybe BMR even comes close to the accomplishments Jason Booher has made as a basketball coach. Yet everyone wants him to keep his nose out of basketball at Pikeville. Seems to me he should be making the decisions and the rest of you all are just afraid the best decisions for a winning team may not fit your own personal interests. Most rediculous thing I have ever heard. The uniforms will stay Maroon. Are you really trying to scare people that he is going to turn Pikeville basketball into Valley of 2010? How is that awful. "Better get Booher out if it, we may win a state championship if you don't".

Just asking but heard a little noise, Is Bart headed to Paintsville?
#81
I heard Pikeville would be hiring there coach this week.

Aside from the sweet sixteen win, what had Booher accomplished? I don't worship the man like you must so I don't know his qualifications.

What else do you need to accomplish? He also had 2 ALL A State titles too.

He reached the pennicle of high school basketball, and you ask what else? Seriously? What else is there. This is what I am talking about in the post you quoted, only here. George washington lead an army of rednecks and hillbillies against the Might of Great Brittain and Ill bet your ancesters were there saying "So why make him president, what else did he do?" When you tell me someone else at Pikeville with a state championship and "the what else" you are looking for that you think should be in charge of basketball instead of him, we will continue this convo. Good luck on that though.

Advice to Elisha,( just my opinion); You should consider the Pikeville job,if it is offered to you.

Reason 1. School with great tradition
2. Lots of backing from community
3. An A D with experience in coaching
4. Last thing is you need some guidance and help in coaching and dealing with
Parents. You are not a proven coach as of now.
