pjdoug Wrote:This thread isn't about Whitley but glad to see that you obsess over them. Corbin has some bragging rights over the Colonels in the overall series record, but If I was a Knox fan I'd probably keep my trap shut about my one district championship in school history.:flame:

No one is talking about the past. That history we are talking about the now so get over how great Whitley was at one time and accept that they are just a so so team now.:flush:

One day closer to Friday.

Hard to get up for a non district non region out of class game. Unless you are playing your neighbor.

This game is a toss-up. Whichever team has more success through the air may win this one.

The Haddix Hounds don't make good neighbors.....
#66
#3 Adam Renfro is who you are talking about. #1 is Jermel Carton. Renfro was hurt JV game couple weeks ago, wether he was faking or not isn't known. But what I do know is that #3 is one of the best athletes around and Corbin doesn't have a DB who can cover #3 the freshman man to man. But that is just my opinion we will see Friday night!

My prediction is, if Knox throws it 8 times they will lose!
I would hope that the coaching staff at Knox learned something from the Wayne Co game.. 3 Int. And cost them the district championship.. If you're going to beat Corbin, you better run the rock..

They will get rocked and treed.

Please provide the week that KC did this awesome task?
I don't recall them playing.

If your talking about last year or the year before, we could always go back to the previous 20 or so odd times before that where everybody, especially Whitley loved using Knox as a stat stuffer.

We live in a what have you done for me lately era. Would love to have played WC this year had they not chose to not renew the contract to play KC this year. Anyway, GL to Whitley in the playoffs =)

This may be true but Whitley will be home a lot sooner than the panthers..

The biggest key to winning this game for either team will be turnovers. The one that wins that part of the game will come out on top.

You have to go back alot of years to get to those days. KC has not had a losing record in over 10 years. 2004 to be exact. Stats stuffing maybe - but that was before the Ipad and back when a dial up connection was considered fast.

likely about the same time.

2004 was the last time Whitley played Knox before they started again a few years ago. If im not mistaken the actual all time record is still in Whitleys favor by over 10 wins. My point was not directed at you, rather your little buddies who like to puff there chest on a start up program that's never won anything.
To my knowledge, before the series started back up in 2011 or 2012 until last year, it gave Knox 3 or 4 wins. Before that, 2003 was a 52-0 Whitley win and 2004 was a 34-6 Whitley win where the school record for rushing yards was broken at Knox Central.
You have to go back in the 90s before that.

When did Knox Central first open?

Sounds right. I recall being at Union and coming over to watch KC play in the early 90's. It was usually a lopsided loss. I remember pointing out how odd it was that the coaches did not use head sets.

I also recall watching their d-line. I played DE for Union and was interested to learn. But most of the time they just fired out and bear crawled. Evidently coaches back then failed to understand the math. If the offensive lineman "gets tied up" he wins. A tie goes to the o-line. Watch any college or pro team. The only time you see "bear crawl" d line is on the 1 inch line. Wasting athletes is normally not an approach that wins.

It took years, a great youth program, and much better coaching to turn around a program that was simply put - terrible. Glad that is no longer the case.
