Roscoe's Clipboard Wrote:Not better than Broughton, he Best Player in Region. But better than the rest.
I guess it's possible, but he has something to prove after averaging 2.0 points and 0.4 rebounds as a junior.
From looking at what they have back (assuming everyone plays), you could consider Broughton a lock at the 2 and Bryson and Jeffers as returning starters inside. Everyone seems to think Sizemore is the point guard.
That leaves one spot at wing. It looked like Henson or Gray would be there, but if the two transfers are as good as Roscoe's clipboard says, then that could push Henson back to the fourth guard for two wing spots, or maybe fifth if an improving young player like Gray moves ahead of him.

Roscoe, Jarred Grubb, is good as any guard in the region! Grubb, was way under estimated last year. South didn't have a shooter on the other side of him to take defensive pressure of him. The kid can play!
Broughton good, but not in that system to slow for him he's a transition player not a grid it out? Just my opinion...that not drinking the Kool-Aid

Bluegrass, are you serious? Miller wasn't a shooter? He was their Best 3pt shooter last year. Secondly who said anything about Grubb?

Again keep sleeping on the Jags. They have the Best guards in Broughton, Sizemore, Henson, Lipps, Griebel and Gray. No other team has that depth of talent.

Roscoe's Clipboard Wrote:Broughton, Sizemore, Lipps, Henson & Asher. Henson would start for any team in the region. Way better than South guards and be 3rd best on Clay.Clipboard said Henson was way better than souths guards. Grubb is souths guard. Lmbo. Maybe I was wrong it ain't vodka in the kool aid. U need to pass the joint around u had to much. Lol

Good depth, but still unproven other than Broughton. They just had one guy score over 4 points a game last year (don't know about Lipps though).
Did all those guys besides Broughton play JV last year? How did that team do?
07-25-2015, 03:31 AM
Did Lipps move to London to come off the bench? What about the other new guy? Isn't he a guard?

Roscoe, Miller was a very solid player took care of the ball, had very few T.O. and play bulldog D. Miller struggled shooting outside of the Cards home court to make shots. The Anders Kid is going to be better this year too. So I don't see North's guard play better than South's.
07-26-2015, 06:12 AM
First off South is nothing and will be nothing. Corbin and Whitley will kill them. Better players and coaching. But Miller was their best shooter. Bottom line South is nothing and will not make it out of district again.

I thought South had added some players and was going to be better this year, but it doesn't sound like it here lol

Seems like someone is a South Hater.. Only team that I saw play with Williamsburg in the payoffs last year.

Like that ol sayin…….Sometimes best to remain quiet and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt….……but then again a clipboard has no brain.

Clip is a typical North fan with his nose up in the air. And have never won anything!!!!! You would think after last year they would have learned a lesson.
07-27-2015, 12:40 AM
Not typical, just stating the fact. Everyone wants to point to last year and that's fine but the Jags are older and more experienced. I'll let you Sleep on us and save I told you so for March!

Stating the fact?
Most of what has been stated has been opinions or speculation. This is July. We'll know the facts in March.
Tell us the facts on who actually will start for North since you have it figured out.

The Blue and Green, Kool-Aid is spiked with 180 Proof Moonshine your drinking Roscoe ) Corbin, has no size or bench. Whitley, will have Rice, on the inside only and he's not been proven yet as a dependable presents on the inside. Both team have good guard play an play hard. Neither as talented as South nor have the size.
Only question about South is their bench. If Davis can get 2 or 3 kids to develop and step up. Their district and great shot at region 13 champ!
This is Davis and South year to get busy!!

You are right on one thing, the coaching is the biggest problem South has to overcome. Corbin and Whiltey are both better than South. North and Clay will be there at the end with Jags winning the region. But like I said you all Sleep on us!!
07-27-2015, 01:57 PM
After watching North the past few years there is no way I would consider them a favorite for anything......as good as most people have thought they would have been remember this.........Broughton or any of the current Juniors and below has never played a regional game inside the arena.......so before I get on here and brag and consider Broughton the best player in the region or North the best team in the region I would look at facts......I know I am a homer but I think hands down that Smith from Clay is a much overall better player than Broughton and I think he has proven that in the previous 2 years when they have went head to head.......if you look at the stats in which Smith guarded Broughton he hasn't averaged double figures and I am about positive he has never won a game against Clay. I think Broughton is a really good player but not the best. I think Taylor from Corbin and Grubb from South is just as good.

Roscoe, I didn't say South had a coaching problem, I said; bench like most of the top teams in the region. Hearing from people around South's Davis, he is a solid coach. Just hasn't had numbers in his favor since he's been at South until this year. This could be their year??
07-27-2015, 04:51 PM
How can anyone from North talk down about Souths Coaches. Cmon man
07-27-2015, 05:32 PM
Davis is a good coach. High school basketball goes in cycles. He hasn't had the talent the last few years but he has it now
07-27-2015, 06:26 PM
I don't think neither North or South has top coaches in the 13th region. I do think both are good coaches with a decent up side. South, has a shot to win the region with some crazy talent. With the best 4 (Griffith) and 5 (Taylor) players in the region and with guards like Miller, Grubb and Anders. How can anyone say they won't win their district is crazy! I personally think Dinky, Tony, Marcum and JD is the best coaches in the region.
07-27-2015, 07:58 PM
I'm not trying to ruffle feathers and I am bias but I think tony is the best coach in our region. That is my opinion though and you know what they say about opinions...
As far as who the best player is I don't trust any know nothing bum that can be in a chat room and that is why I trust the college coaches to determine that by offers. I don't even pay attention to media polls for those type things. College coaches are the only true and unbiased eye. I think we have some good talent in the region but maybe it is my old eyes playing tricks I think overall the talent is weak. Lay the offers out and who has the best and most will show you who is the best players. I think south could end up being a beast and should win the region this year but we are saying that about a team that hasn't even been to a region in a few years. It might be to big of a leap to expect KIDS to go into their first region and win it.

I'm a Clay County fan but I agree with you Olred. I think Tony Pietrowski is the best in region.
07-27-2015, 10:09 PM
Since Bobby Kieth, Steve Wright,Billy Hicks Who all have won State tournament.Compared to the rest of the regions Coaching abilities in the 13th has been mediocre at best.
07-28-2015, 01:26 AM
Just asking, but in regards to college coaches knowing who the best players are, do we have any kids with more than 9 D-1 offers in the 13th? Just asking, because I do know of one.
07-28-2015, 01:32 AM
The ONLY player in the 13th Region I know of is the Best Player Peyton Broughton. But I guess those coaches don't know what they are talking about because they offered him. Smith is really Good but don't think he is as good as Peyton.
07-28-2015, 01:35 AM
Broughton in my opinion is deserving of each and everyone of those. Once again though it's not my opinion that counts the college coaches have spoken.
07-28-2015, 01:47 AM
In my opinion Broughton is a laid back type of player. He waits for the action to come to him. Lots of offensive skills with lot to learn on defense. I'm not sure he is quick enough for D1. Just have to wait and see. Vandy always has room for someone that can shoot the 3. Smith is a hard nosed tuff kid that gives 100% the whole game. May not be the jump shooter that Broughton is but his effort will win out every time. There both good high school players I just think Smith is the better player at this time.
07-28-2015, 02:14 AM
I know this is gonna sound weird to some but best high school player and best college prospect can be two different things
