I know someone very well who just recently joined the military. They actually ARE starting to train with hazmat's suits; however, the ones they were issued were made a long time ago. Those that were sent to Ft. Benning were all dry rotted. They are in the process of replacing them, and other, with new ones. Training is to begin early next year for them in how to work in those suits, and how to work in pandemic situations. "Ebola" is a word that hasn't been used.

There is no cure for ebola. All they can do is treat the symptoms. They are working on a vaccination but it is still in the experimental stage.

The problem with sending all of these soldiers to west Africa is that the Army will undoubtedly hire local contractors to provide some goods and services to the Soldiers and that is where the biggest risk of exposure will come into play.

I also worry about people being infected with ebola deciding to expose Soldiers by seeking treatment at the construction sites. If I were a Liberian who had ebola, I would rather take a shot at a free trip to the U.S. for treatment instead of placing my bets on a local hospital.

Like it or not, if our Commander-in-Chief had any respect for the U.S. military, our troops would not be in danger of being exposed to ebola - at least not until an effective vaccination had been developed.

3,000 troops and you know there's at least a handful from each state.

I have never been a Chuck Hagel fan, but if he made this decision without consulting our cowardly president, which I suspect that he did, then I salute his decision.

Our Soldiers should not have been given this assignment, but the Soldiers who I know would gladly trade 21 days of freedom to ensure the safety of their families and fellow American citizens.
