Lawrence Co. 48 Breathitt Co. 27

When infractions occur they are handled fairly and the whole team is aware of the results. This coach has a uniform for anyone that wants "belong" to a TEAM, but you have to get along to go along. Coach checks weekly GPA's and attendance, if not acceptable, YOU WILL NOT PLAY. This applies to every member of the TEAM. Coach looks at football as 7th period. The longest class of the day. And in 7th period he discusses geometry, angles of movement. He discusses physics, time and distance. He discusses statistics, 4th and 20. He discusses rule of law, holding, 10 yards. He discusses philosophy, everyone has a burden to carry. He discusses civics, how to best represent your community. He discusses physiology, taking care of your body for life. In between all that discussion he has a football practice. Amazing to watch. We will not know the results for 5 or 10 years but I have a feeling he will turn out the most productive teams in LC history no matter what their record is.

So what have been his punishments for the ones involved? I'm not talking about him changing the lineup because of khsaa suspensions, I mean as a team how have they been punished?
Congrats on the win.
Shame on all of the extra stuff.

You seem to have a lot of insight. Good coaches that are willing to stay in one place are hard to find now a days. They are fortunate if that is the case. Are you on the staff?
dawgbyte02 Wrote:I said in a pregame post Breathitt would give us all we could handle. They are still fired up 17 years later about LC breaking their 42 game win streak, which today is third longest in Ky HS history. I put the out of control solely on the officiating. The 1st play from scrimmage a LC player had his nose repositioned. Old school football. Tons of trash talk by both sides early that the refs should have flagged. The 1st ejection was Triplett who came up swinging which everyone saw but they did not see the BC player boot stomp his groin area 1st. By this time LC players were beginning to realize they were in a different kind of game. The BC offensive line did not hold LC players they flat out tackled them but no call. Very frustrating but you have to deal with it. Players must learn to adapt to the situation. Only 3 players got ejected, Triplett, Dalton and Miller. Very strange was the so called bench clearing brawl, Miller was the only one ejected for giving the ref a were #1 symbol with the wrong finger. This is when the KY State Police, Sheriffs Dept, and Jackson City police ran on field. What actually got that started was the BC player, after the play was over, took his helment off and started hitting Keesee with it. Naturally Keesee is not going to run to his mommy or coach or anybody else he defends himself. This was by no means a bench clearing brawl. It was 2 coaching staffs, law enforcement a few well meaning players trying to restore order. Coach Cecil got ejected for leaving the sideline but the BC coach did not. Believe me when I say that Coach Cecil would not want this kind of action at any game.
With all that being said, it was a very sloppy defensive game by LC. To much arm tackling, once again players standing around watching play on other side of field etc. Offense had trouble holding onto ball but due mainly to very aggressive BC defense. I wish our defense was half as aggressive as that. Suspensions will not have effect as we play East Carter next week and have many more players looking for a chance to shine.
Evidently, the only play player ejected for "THE BRAWL" was Miller but not for a finger wave, which film proves did not happen. just a late hit which in itself is debatable . Still strange that the two players involved in "THE BRAWL" were not ejected.

Very close to staff for several years. Coach is a dedicated TEACHER-COACH to the STUDENT-ATHLETE.

Sounds good. What were the additional punishments besides what the khsaa did?

Additional punishments for what? Did you see the game? Did you see the film?
Do you know what was said and done on the field? Like I said in this lawsuit happy world if the parents of two of the Lawrence players wanted to push it with video evidence they could go after assault charges if they wanted. Coach Cecil asked the KHSAA for his players to be reinstated after he got to see all the evidence because right on camera and the camera don't lie is a Breathitt player kicking a Lawrence player in the groin and another kicking a player in the back of the legs with his back turned. I haven't heard anything about it since, but I would not be suprised to see all the players on the field friday night and IMO they should be. Why can't people (especiallythe ones with no affiliation with either team) let this thread go. This is friday morning and we play East Carter, Breathitt County is ancient history 48-27 on to the next.:Thumbs:

They don't need punished because they did nothing wrong. Khsaa what a joke and piece of crap they are. To many Mexicans(not the bunch JC brought with them). They seen the footage and still suspend a couple LC players. I've not heard if any of Breathitt Players getting suspended. I think they wished they had went and picked on something they could eat! From the video I saw there were a couple that got lit up. Jerking LC's Players helmet off and then LC players lands a couple of good right hands. Confusednicker: :ChairHit::Shaking: Then Breathitt players trying to purposely injure #11. :lame: and S-o-f-t not to mention W-e-a-k. Nothing wrong with defending yourself and your team. If they do get punished by the Coaching Staff I will never go to a LC game again. I find it kinda of funny Coach Moore for Breathitt was the Qb that choked in '97 in the game against LC! Still Mad? :Shaking:
This contradicts what dawgbyte said about Cecil. Yes they did do something wrong, they retaliated. Not being able to control your emotions is a big problem. Him asking for their reinstatement is exactly what I'm talking about with you all condoning this type of behavior. Even if the khsaa didn't suspend anyone they should still be held accountable in front of their team. This isn't something to celebrate.

I think the players from Breathitt should be disciplined for their part, but to say that the LC players are 100% innocent in this is naive. What you see on tape is just part of the situation. What was said and such that led up to it is another. And to get to the bottom of that you have to depend on teenagers to be 100% honest, and that is just not going to happen. Take half of what a teenager says and cut that in half, then you may be close to the truth. Teenagers spin and stretch the truth to get results that benefit themselves.

My thing is this why ask what else was done to LC? What has been done to Breathitt? I don't hear or have I heard anything being done to them or their players. Or what was done to the Breathitt player that kicked and stomped on #11 trying to injure him? You don't hear anything about that do you? I saw both teams rush out to the field when it broke loose in the 4th and Coaches to. So why is LC the only one being punished? I have this type of attitude don't start any and they won't be any1 Brahma I don't know what was said I just saw actions. I had a pretty good seat and I do know what went on. So how do you know what was said?
Keep with what's been said in the thread Rocks in your head....Dawgbyte02 said that it was Coach Cecil's philosophy to internally punish those on the team that do wrong...1974 is simply asking what Cecil did to discipline the players from LC that were disciplined by the KHSAA...And don't go into this stuff, that they didn't do anything wrong...Evidently they did or that would have been dismissed too.....And don't start with the Breathitt Co. should be too, because obviously Cecil is not the coach of Breathitt....He is asking Dawgbyte to put up or shut up on the defense of Cecil and provide some proof to his statement......Did Dawgbyte know what he was talking about or not?... Simple question that should be able to be returned with a simple answer. Even those with a simple mind (like yours) should be able to answer this without hesitation.Right?

How come I already know what kind of response we're going to get here...I'm willing to say that you'll come back with some off the wall jibberish about Breathitt players, and how they were at fault too, the KHSAA is a joke, yada, yada, yada...Breathitt players have absolutely nothing to do as a part of him answering the question...Then you'll add some sort of stupid comment about me or JC or any other JC poster....It's what you do when you cant honestly come back with an honest answer and have been caught telling a big one....To quote yourself, "that baby, is how we roll in Lawrence"!!!

I'm not Coach Cecil or a Coach either. I come from a time if someone hits you in the mouth you hit them back! You stand up for yourself and for your team. I look at like this the LC players actually helped the Breathitt team by retaliating. Letting them know they can't do that and get by with it. Because the crooked Ref's and corrupt Khsaa sure didn't help and for that matter the KSP Barney Fyffe Cops didn't either. Retaliating is not a problem either. This Country used to be Great at one time. So you are telling me if you thought someone was trying to hurt you or going to try to hurt you or your family, you wouldn't fight back? I think the brawl was when the Breathitt kid jerked the helmet off of a LC player and started throwing punches. Was the LC kid just supposed to stand there and take it? No! No! No! I'm done with this thread :thanks:

I don't. Just know teenagers are not honest, especially when they are part of the situation. I am not talking about this incident, but incidents involving teenagers as a whole. I do not know or care what was said or done, just saying that both sides share blame, whether it be 99% to 1% or 50/50. No one side is 100% innocent and the players involved should be help accountable.

This type of thing happens every Friday night in the fall and the difference is most players and coaches know when their being provoked and are mature enough to laugh it off. Instead of having that be the attitude you guys celebrate them every time they fight with somebody and its never their fault. Also, part of film from what I saw showed #11 taunting Breathitt when he scored a touchdown. Nobody's family was being threatened and nobody's life was ever in danger. Breathitt simply knew the kids from LC would react when provoked and they exploited that. I very seriously doubt the next time they play breathitt will be scared to do the same thing because they fought back. Most likely they'll do it again to throw them off their game. Actually, I'm sure everybody's aware now of how to get in your alls heads. So I'm sure they'll be provoked again and they'll react the same way because you guys applaud that type of behavior. Especially now that the players know they won't be punished by their coach.

Maybe their keeping silent because of those assault charges their going to file? Haha. The sad part about it is these same kids will grow up to teach upcoming players the same thing. Its a never ending process in Louisa. It reminds me of Jim Jones and they've all officially drank the cool aid. Smile
