Not saying Pikeville is better. We have a good team with the potential to be outstanding in our class. But I guarantee you if you want to talk "flat out outrunning" Cody Estep and Daric Pugh could hold their own. But we are talking football, not track. So good luck to both teams for a good game and injury free game. Confidence is one thing, but the way you are wording your post makes you sound like an arrogant jackass. :dudecomeon:

Not going to make a prediction on this game, but I do predict if Pikeville is able to pull the upset people will be jumping off of outhouses all over Pond Creek and half of West Virginia (the bad half).

Just saying.Read my quote in my previous comment...I said we won't take them lightly...cause we wanna beat em bad..You know it, I know it,the whole state knows it...Pikeville does not match up with Belfry, it will be the same song and dance...a blowout...then when the JV comes in pikeville will score some points..and get some yards..the only matchup in Pikeville's favor is Estepp on our wide outs...but we don't throw..nobody in the backfield for, pikeville is faster than our DE's......I'm just stating facts...facts that no one can dispute..

skully03 Wrote:Yep. Like I said earlier in a post. The D lines names were called on the radio all night long. Horton, Whitt and Bentley are a force that most offenses will not be able to over come. They plug up the line and force runners to the outside and then Belfry shows their speed as the pursuit catches up to the play. If I am not mistaken the starting D has allowed only 3 scores and one of those drives started on the Belfry 2 yd line.
The true starting D has allowed two TDs. 0 against Henry Clay...their score was a kickoff return...one against Harlan County where the Bears returned an INT to the Belfry 2 and they scored in two plays. One score in the SW game on a beautifully blocked run play where Doan broke free for a nice 77 yd TD run.

This quote seems a little far off, but it's not by much. Austin Hall can fly for a 6'3" kid and TJ Dotson is a heck of an athlete. Sorry I didn't get the original quote in there, but it was referring to 1991 claiming no one from PHS can outrun the BHS ends.

So? Doesn't mean they can run as fast at Pugh, Maynard or Estep.

I really like Estep and Pugh, but the harsh reality is that if you objectively look at the starters team by team, these two kids would be the only two Panthers that would start for BHS. Estep could play WR and DB and Belfry would find a spot for a player as good as Pugh. Not trying to be elitist or arrogant and props to those two really good players.

So Belfry can be blocked. That's news to 99% of Belfry fans.

Do you realize that Henry Clay had 4 of the fastest kids in the state..they didn't get outside..Estepp, yes probably could out run them in a 40...but not the others, You have played 2 1A schools and Sheldon Clark, but now you can play with BELFRY...get real man and be honest with yourself...You guys are startin to sound like Bourbon County..

So? The guys on this Pikeville team pounded the Belfry guys in middle school. I know there are tons of new WV kids on the roster who didn't play in those games but you still have a bunch of kids on Pikeville's team who have played against the Belfry guys and thrashed them 3 times in 1 year and gave up ZERO points. So your belief that it's men vs. boys just isn't true.

The way he (and SOME others, not all) talk, Belfry could beat Trinity every year and twice on Sundays. I'm simply saying its cool to be confident, and Belfry has earned the right to be confident, but he sounds like an arrogant ass at times. All fan bases have them, ours too. At least you acknowledge Pugh and Estep, he would say they'd never see the field at Belfry. But there are others who, if not starters, would be contributors. Y'all got one of them. Lol. Yes, I'm talking about the Scott boy. Again, best of luck to all, prayers up for an injury free game.
