The best 1st game of the season since I have been watching Belfry football. According to 93.1 FM Belfry only had 4 penalties and 0 turnovers. Anyone that knows belfry football knows that is very unlike them. Especially during the first game. But hey, I'll take it. Total domination on both sides of the ball the O line physically wore down HC and just took it to them all night long. The defense. WOW. Not one offensive touchdown scored against them. HC only score coming on special teams. Way to go belfry. One game at a time. CONGRATS!!!

A couple of key coaching point in the game.
1. In the first quarter, after Belfry put 2 TDs on the board, HC coach elected to go for it on 4th and 27 from the Belfry 42. A clear sign of panick that he could not stop Belfry/trust his defense. And it was still the first quarter.
2. 4th and goal Belfry from about the 5. Coach Haywood trusts his kicker and takes the 3 points. 17-0.
3. 4th and 5 from about the 9-10, Henry Clay elects to go for it before the half and not take the 3 points, which would have cut it to one score. Result - a loss of 4 yards and over on downs.
HC coaches either wanted a measuring contest, or just made poor choices early on. It was over after that.
