Shelby Valley 06'

Ben would have been a good coach...but what he did to our team is unforgivable...he talked about how we were going to be a family and everytime we broke out for a water break...we broke out on family, he made us a sign a contract that said we wouldnt do drugs, drink, or smoke and we'd show up on school on time everyday and keep our grades up...and then he goes off and done that to us...he didnt even have the courage to come up to us after it happened and even say im sorry or i let you down or anything....but yeah he did have alot of football knowledge and we did improve while he was there, but i lost all my respect for him this summer...

Coach Saunders is a good coach. I do not know where this guy is getting his information from. I had the pleasure of working with Kevin. He is a good coach and a proven winner. Look at his record overall. Give him a Chance Shelby Valley and you will not be disappointed.
#33
This coach is just what Valley needs! He is to the point and tells it like it is. Some people don't like that but that is the way a coach should be. He should be their coach not their buddy!!!!!!!!
#34
Amen to Snoop. Kevin is a shot in the arm to programs. He will get a ton of effort out of the kids. Many people say he is brash, ****y, or whatever but the guy can get it done. Good Luck to SVHS and Coach Saunders, I know his wife is happy for him to be closer to home.
#35
Is John Johnson Moving to the line?

Who are coach Saunders assistants?
#36
Snoop is right. Kevin gets the most out of his players. He will have them ready to play. Good Luck SVHS and Coach Saunders. I bet his wife is happy he is closer to home.

ok enough about the o6 season lets go back a few years when big steele was a sophmore... he came into valley with the size and ability to start .if anyone has heard of him then they already know what i'am talkin about . and he also had the leadership abilitys to but there elegability issues so he whent back to florida if he would have stayed talk about a team.. that would have had a power house so just remember the name steele...

Bar one good posts about coach. I know he will get it done and the people there will be proud of the way they play
#39
Well it just seems to me that every coach valley gets the community has a problem with it. I just don't understand what they want in a coach, they are not goin to get a coach to leave from a big state championship team to come to theres although it would be nice.

Tom Searcy,Derek Potter and Hillard all said that too but they didnt realize the yahoos they had to deal with up there. This guy will see the light and get out of dodge before he goes insane just like the rest of them did.

I come from the sv area and I dont doubt hes a good coach but I PROMISE THIS!!! theyll never let football out shine the allmighty roundball up there and theyll resort to anything to keep the status quo Ive seen it happen too many times.

How funny is it that nobody from the valley resonds to this, they dont, because they know its true.

Im from Valley and i could'nt agree with you more...and its sad too because we stand alot better chance winning a state championship in football than we do in basketball...

Thats why I left that school and went down here. And regardless of what people say thats why harmon left too. So many times people from sv have accused Pikeville of "Recruiting" these players who leave sv but my reply is always that these players werent recruited, they are political refugees from the county. It stinks for the kids because its almost bred into the football players up there that they are 2nd class citizens and always will be. Which of course isnt true.

BY reading the post on this subject seems like half of ya like Saunders the rest wanna fire him now...But I"ll agree with one thing and im id say the most objective of the bunch here as im an outsider looking in at the SV football program and I have no ties what so ever with no one or any group there..
You should be winning! The kids I see coming through the middle school teams that are supposed to feed the Valley need to play at Valley..Why do you lose these kids to Pikeville and PC?And if you got a coach(and I know this is gonna piss somebody off)that plays politics and steers a kid away from Valley because he cant get the head job there or doesent like the current head coach he shouldnt be in any program at any capacitie..Thats why you have feeder schools,From what ive seen in Pike county if you could get some consitsency with the coaching situation and keep the Valley kids at the Valley youd be kickin a$$ and takin names year endyear out...good luck to you guys this year and give Saunders a chance and your support...

Searcy ran himself off with the problems he had, Hillard wasn't a head coach there and Potter retired and you transferred because you couldn't get playing time.

I left because there were kids I was better than starting ahead of me only because of whos boy they were and I wasnt anybodys boy so to speak. It would get kind of frustrating to put the same guys on there keisters in practice everyday and then watch them play on friday nights and you set on the sidelines wouldnt it? Ill give you that searcy was no prize, but the folks up there was about to drive Potter nuts and thats why he retired. And Hillard left because he was tired of having to run every play he called by Napier before he called it. That was the most laughable id ever heard of. Here you had a coach was a 3 time state champ having to get permission from a coach that by my understanding played half of his senior year in football and that was it to call a play.

Good Luck To The Cats And Hope To See New Faces In The Crowd!!!

You can call me what you want but you know I speak the truth. And I think you got me confused with someone else cause I went to Pikeville alot longer than 4 months.
