How do you think the Wildcats will do next year under Coach Saunders...they lose almost their whole offensive line, except for tyler cable and eric althauser...who took over the left tackle position because a senior was injured this season, he was well deserving of this position though, he is a talented player...also they return a talented QB...if he gets some composure and learns to calm himself down during the games he would be the best in the 15th by the time he was a senior IMO...also they have several good backs returning...big john johnson, brock kinney, and chris yates...if these boys can get more agile then i think the wildcats can put out some big numbers this year with the wing-T that coach Saunders will be bringing with him...and lets not forget colby newsome and jacob bryant...2 very talented recievers that could easily turn a game around with a long play action pass...IMO if everyone does their job and all aspects of the game come together at the right time i think the wildcats can be hard to stop...my prediction...6-4 with possibly a 3 seed in the playoffs...

I don't look for John Johnson to be in the backfield this year!

Should be interesting this year. Good returning core but new blood at the top. How is the new coach handling things at sv so far?
02-06-2006, 05:46 PM
well thanks valley 06 their is also another lineman (HMMMM me) who worked his tail off for positiopns on both sides and got disrupted by getting in a fight and transsfer rule, also u left out a housecat who will also be good cory hall dont underestimate the kid
02-06-2006, 05:48 PM
the other lineman is DANIEL GILLESPIE
02-06-2006, 07:51 PM
Gillespie isn't that good...best of luck wildcats.
02-07-2006, 01:29 AM
Who is Housecat?
also Gillespie is a good lineman...i was in a rush typing my previous post and forgot all about him, IMO, this kid will develop into a solid lineman...his brother was a good athlete but didnt put forth the effort...also cory hall is good but he needs to learn more about the game and so does all of the new starters...I think Coach Saunders will take care of this problem early though because any coach knows it starts with your line...

You can add John Johnson to that line too. He ways about 310 and now that he quit basketball he will gain about thirty pounds.

I will say this, remember this name Brock Kenney!!!!

[U][I]I think Shelby Valley will be much improved. Saunders is a proven winner. He has built programs everywhere he has been. I talked w/ him the other day and he plans on being in the Valley a long time.
02-07-2006, 04:29 PM
His last school he was at was like 5-5 and 4-7. JJ kellys record was like 1-9. Is that proving he is a winner. If that is so then I think they should have left the coaches that were there. Please explain your comment.
02-07-2006, 07:06 PM
Well i totally agree on this one! Are they getting better? looks me like they are getting worse! put this coach with a 10-21 record compared with the past 3 years at valley 15-18 with 3 coaches. I know that anthany is pushing them really hard in the weight room! But Coach said that we have more talent then the last bunch he coached, but I say he has told his past teams that same thing.:Hammer3: duh!

I agree with everything you said trizo...
Can you define Power house Rock?...4-7? Not your tyipical power house...lol
If Daniel was/is such a great lineman he would have stayed at Pikeville where could win, and play alot...that is if he was good enough...but wait...he transfered...

Saunders was not the coach at JJ Kelly when they were 1-9. He never had a losing season there & they beat 2 state champions during that time. If you did any research you would know his winning percentage is around 70%. We feel we have a very good coach. Only 3 losing seasons as a head coach.

Yeah! I hate when people take credit when they are not the head coach. Lets face it he is not as great as you stated, and his reacord shows it. I did research on him and everything that I stated is true. I hope he does great but don't get on here and state false statements about him. If he doesn't watch the way he treats his kids and the language he uses toward them then he will be back in the situation he was at JJ KElly when he was fired for the same type of stuff. None of the teacher at the school like him and he cannot find anyone to help him because for his aTTerved: itude.

Why do you say the teachers don't like him and whay he can't get bany help. Coach Hampton and Coach Osborne are coaching/ him. And he was 36-18 at JJ Kelly and his players loved him. I know because I was one of them. So don't speak about what you only hear. You need to know everything.

Let's give this guy a chance. The players at Valley deserve it and maybe this guy is what they need. Also, He's been hired as Coach, so the Valley Community needs to get behind him and support these kids.

Actually Daniel did start a game at Pikeville but wanted to come back becuase of his friends at valley and wanted to help get the place were he belongs better instead of going to a different school and making them look better
If anyone wants to private message about this or just give him a call PM to get the number

I wish things would have worked out with Ben Howard and SV, I think he would have been a good young coach for the Wildcats. I think SV can become a very solid football program if the resources are there for the new coach. Good luck to the Cats in 06, I will be rooting for you guys.

I agree PHSFAN...Ben would have been a good fit at Shelby Valley.

How can you say someone that has had the problems he has had would be a could fit to be around young men. So what you are saying that if someone that knows football would be a good fit but it doesn't matter what type of person he is. I would say that they are some people in prison that know football, maybe some ex-nfl players, so should SV give them a chance. Let me clear up something right now I am not compairing anyone that has coached or that is coaching at SV to a criminal, I am just making a point! A good head coach has to be more than just walking football knowledge. He has to be a leader, someone the boys can look up to. Someone who is going to lead by example.

Trzo they have that now in Saunders. His players at the schools he has coached love him and still go and see him. The people from Wise will be there to support Shelby Valley. Look for good things out of the cats!!!!

I think we all learn from our mistakes. So let's support Coach Saunders and his coaching staff. Good luck to the Valley Wildcats next season.

I agree...I am just saying I wish things would have worked out for him there. Ben had some problems and I'm sure you know what they are but he is a great guy that made a mistake and I know he would have been a good fit at SV. Good luck to Coach Saunders...I hear he is a very good coach and I wish him nothing but the best.
