The transfer didn't come from Pikeville did they? Be like transferring from UK to Morehead.

Just found out who it was. I had heard he was from Belfry but he has come from Pikeville High School. Tom Tebow is right with his post but to say the transfer is like going from UK to Morehead, it's a lateral move historically between UK and Morehead.
I don't think there is anyway he gets eligible unless there is some custody issue. But man we would love to have him.

Where did he play last year? Belfry to Pikeville to Paintsville sounds like a draft pick: Tigers, via Panthers (from Pirates).

JP all I'm saying when I first posted Paintsville was getting a transfer was that the player was coming from Belfry, that's it nothing more. My info was totally wrong of course but all this stuff is always hearsay until it happens.

Yeah I get that JP, I wasn't going to name a kid until I had absolute proof. You should have stepped up and save us all the mystery.
It's still going to be a great game and with added the last two years transfers attempts between the two, it has to be the game of the week for sure. Nothing but respect for Pikeville from here I can state that for sure.

I found out from Tom. Don't know any details but it doesn't make sense and if it stands there will be some bad blood IMO. I know one thing, Pikeville adm. needs to go to whatever transfer seminars Paintsville and Belfry adm. go to.

I agree, there will be some bad blood in that game and maybe from a Paintsville point of view maybe they will remember getting hammered by the Panthers for the last 20 years or so and it will become a rivalry again. Pikeville has a great program , great fans , and great school. We are working to get the program back and the players are doing their best to make it that way.

^Can't disagree TB and really can't dislike the Tigers either. This transfer has to be some kind of soap opera coming this late in the school year. Can't wait for the details to come out. Best of luck to the Tigers but hope they never beat Pikeville in football.

I can see how you would think a long win streak is 2 or 3. Pikeville baseball will be back big, I think they start 5 or 6 freshmen. Anyway, will never happen in football. Seriously. And for the record my position on any transfer is let the kid go to school where his parent(s) want(s) him to go.
Even if he will have a bad record against his former school.:devilflam

With the dad moving to Davis branch in Paintsville. And the two brothers staying in Pikeville this could be a messy situation.Hope they got the custody straightened out before he enrolled. It would suck for such a good athlete to miss junior season. The kid looks ligit.I sure hope he has you as his advisor "This is me".You know how to get these kinds of thing done.

I got my info from players so take that for what its worth. I hope the kid gets to play, seems like a nice kid. I would hope that people have their ducks in a row before they move their kid.

I just hope it all works out, everyone at school really likes him and the team is really taken him in very nicely. Said he was happy at school, looks like a good match.

I know one thing, if a Raceland kid left for Fairview or visa versa...all I know is all hell may break loose. This is an extremely interesting situation. Especially with brothers involved. Wow.

^Lessens Paintsville's chances of beating Pikeville IMO. Last time I remember something like this happening was in 2004. Good running back for Pikeville (starter) transferred to Prestonsburg. Pikeville happened to open with a very good Prestonsburg team in the Pike County Bowl. Pikeville shut them out. Prestonsburg beat Bell Co., Lawrence Co. and Ashland Blazer in their next 3 games. Pikeville won the region that year over an undefeated Williamsburg team. Prestonsburg finished with 3 losses - Pikeville, Belfry (in OT) and Belfry again in the playoffs. You can look it up on the KHSAA scoreboard. I like a motivated Pikeville team. :flame:

Wasn't that Chat Yates that transferred from JC to P-Burg?

Remember Yates but don't know if he was on that team. The kid I'm talking about is Brenton Hamiliton who transferred to Prestonsburg from Pikeville.

Motivation comes in different ways, for the Tigers it might be the last 1:30 of the 4th qtr last year. It should be a great game and I like a motivated Paintsville squad.
