Clay County vs Jackson County (49th District Championship)
#31
Jackson has NO bench whatsoever.....like I said in a previous post OBI got 2 of their starters in foul trouble and it was a game until all 5 could get back in....If they get in foul trouble against Clay they will be in big trouble....Same goes for Clay....they can't afford to get in foul trouble either.....but I would rather have House and Sams than Jackson County's 6 & 7 guys.

Exactly what I'm arguing. Ours isn't the greatest but is definitely better than what they have. Imagine sitting Fox and McDaniel and bringing in the next man. I would definitely take Clay's chances.

Their's no way i'd take the Sams kid over Neely anywhere besides behind the arc. And as for House I would take him over Jackson 7th man, neither one has the want to rebound or heart that the Neely kid does.

House is better than Neeley, he's our 6th man.

House has 2 things on Neely, defense and shooting. How could you take him over Neely? I wish my son had everything Neely had!

UKCC Wrote:We can push 7 with Trevor Sams who is a pretty good shooter. House is probably the best 6th man in the region is the difference. We can bring House in for Wolfe or Smith and almost not lose a beat.

I totaly disagree about not missing a beat when House is in for Smith. Clay is a whole different team without him on the floor. While House is a pretty good defender, I watched Fox break his ankles several times at Jackson. Fox got to the rim whenever he wanted on House. I'm Telling you right now that if Smith doesn't guard Fox Marcum is crazy. Smith got in Broughton's head right from get go last night. IMO Clay shoud play a triangle and 2 with smith face guarding Fox,and wolfe/house face guarding Collier. If we come out with some rinky dink zone it will be a long night. We can go man only if Farmer decides to put forth a little effort, if not he will be a mis match all night for jackson. Game is a toss up, if we zone Jackson by 10, if not and man up or chase clay by 6.:yikes:

House is way better than Neeley.

That's enough for me to take him over Neeley. Haha Neeley just eats space man and gives some fouls.
#39
Get your son to work. Quit focusing on turkey season put him to work and maybe he can be Neeley one day.

Wasn't in McKee. Saw him play really solid defense on Fox in Manchester. I agree with the zone though, should play man or box and chase from the get go. I'm a big Blake Smith man. The kid is about to get where he can shut down anyone in the state, which he probably could right now. He's the reason Broughton hasn't done anything against us. House is a good defender though, I wasn't necessarily speaking of him on Fox. Maybe I should've said if Wolfe went out. Trey gives effort and I truly believe we win by 10.

What else do you want him to have Shooting = Offense, Defense=Defense
Imo if your better at both then your the better player. Neely is a big body thats about it, but ive only seen them play 4 games maybe all 4 were his off nights:dudecomeon:

Hard fouls at that! I think Neely will be a force to wreckin with, if I was Jackson's coach i'd let Neely post the kid with the beard and long rat tail up and let Neely go to work!
#43
I'll tell you what Neeley has over House. That fonzy style hairdo and that 42" waistline. Kid has the body to be a heck of a sumo wrestler.

Neely has just started back 4 days ago, as I was talking to our head coach that had talked to Jackson's coach and said Neely was busting his hump in practice.
#45
Maybe Jackon County's coach will see the light and play Neeley most of the game.....I doubt it because that will take away any shot they have to win it.
#46
Busting your hump in practice means nothing if you don't have any skill.

If your coach plays Neely and takes one of your 3 point shooters off the floor he is crazy. Jackson lives and dies by the 3 and will need everyone of them in order to beat clay Friday. :flush:

I heard 6'4 250 lb Sugarbear Gabbard and 6'9 317 lb Diesel Hicks have been busting their humps as well trying to beat 29 secs on suicides during practice

I watched him play against us at home in the first half, he had at least a double double against us in the first half, he has the heart and determination to lead his team, no he don't have the skill Fox, Collier or Lawson has. But if he did have that talent and worked as hard as he does now, he'd be really good :gtfo:

But seriously, u know this is gonna be a fun game to be apart of when the fans r debating who's 7th man is the best. I love this stuff. :biglmao:

Should be a fun game! I hope I can be in attendance!

As a neutral guy on this whose team has played these two a combined five times, I give the edge to Clay just because of defense. Jackson very seldom puts forth a lot of effort on the defensive end. Collier can block some shots, and Fox can be a good defender, but they seem too often disinterested, they would rather push it and try to just out score you. Now they have enough offensive talent to do that at times, like the game in McKee. And it could happen again in the next two weeks. But Smith is a better defender than anyone probably in the region, and when Allen decides to show up Clay's team defense is pretty good as well. I'll take Clay in this one, in the neighborhood of 74-67.

Not cool Wolfe. Not cool talking about Neeley fouling kids and hurting them either. That is not the type of program we want at Jackson. No way.

Lot of good points on the game except for BUBBA's as usual. So, from what I've gathered, this game has too many ifs to call. If so and so shows or if we play this defense or that...this is why basketball is the greatest game on earth! Study and analyze all you want and just when you think you have it...guess again. Clay definitely has the edge at home. The 1st game at Clay was called right down the line. I just hope this one is too. BUBBA, I've seen you play ball. Stick with golf.
