Who will be the new Coach at Russell?
russellpride Wrote:So you already know who it is?

Nope. Bt I've got a good idea who it could be.
They are still interviewing. Should complete the intererviewing process this week and make the selection the following week. The posting comes down Feb. 20th. Hopefully they will make the anouncement the 21st.

Interesting I talked to Nate few days ago and he didn't mention anything about interviewing yet hope they at least interview him but never know with Russell
Doubt Nate gets an interview. Why would he get an interview?
Maybe a lower profile team in our area or even out of state he could get a fresh start.
Russell doesn't need or want the heat Nate would bring with him.

What heat? Last time I checked he's great person and coach. Russell be ignorant not too but then again they are ignorant most of the time.
I heard TJ was contacted and given first refusal. If that is the case, I doubt we know anything until he gives them an answer one way or another. Same source though did say that other interviews had been conducted, but from the sounds of it, it REALLY is TJ's job if he wants it.

You may want to change your username. :devilflam

True but I support Russell just if TJ doesn't take job I think Nate is best option some people disagree if Bobby Petrino can make it back to Louisville anybody has a chance.
I wonder if the school will announce the new coach at the next school board meeting on the 24? All I know is the sooner the better.

Nothing against him, just better options. Hope he gets a second chance. Just think it will be out of state or lesser profile school.

Did I miss something here? Wow guy resigns and you act like he committed a murder:ChairHit:
Didn't president Nixon resign as well? Lol

Jesus faced a mob that was eager to execute a woman caught in adultery. He put a stop to it with a simple challenge: anyone who has no sin in their life should step forward and throw the first stone. That sentence is often cited as a reminder to avoid judging others when there are faults in your own life that need to be addressed. John 8:7
I understand both sides of the Nate argument. TBH, I think Nate is taking some time away from it all for a bit. I think in a year or two he will pop up as a HC, next year, he may pop up as an OC or HC somewhere. I look for him to end up in NEWV or NKY/CINCY area. I always said that if he got the shot at a NKY job he'd take it. Nate wanted a college job, last season set him back in the achievment of that goal. I too would be suprised to see him anywhere other than a low profile school.
Coach Evans could be the sleeper in all of this. If not I hope whoever comes in retains him. He's a good man and has had a lot of experience.
Coach Nate Mcpeek would a great choice for Russell his record is:

2008 8-4
2009 8-4
2010 11-2
2011 12-1
2012 14-1
2013 5-5 (9-1)

Before he got to Fairview, the program had won two playoff games, Coach Mcpeek won 10 playoff games at Fairview in his short time there. There would be a great up side to this, Coach Mcpeek would be more determined then ever to right the ship and clear his name, given the chance as a head Coach again. So who ever gets this man as a head Coach would benefit tremendously form a second chance.
I agree 100%. Nate gets thrown under the bus by many. More times than not they say his wins were bc of ot of state tallent. He won for 2 years (08,09), before it really started happening. He is a great ball coach. Knows how to go for the kill shot. Great motivator and regaurdless of what many may think, a great man.
Not sure who the next coach for Russell is but I just really think that after this thread is over and we know who the coach is, there will be a new thread titled "Who will be the next coach at Raceland?"
Everyone I talk to says something will be announced very soon.

Maynard is pretty much a done deal.
What makes you say that Fanman?
Because from what I've been told, Russell is making it real hard for him to say no.
I don't blame Russell for making a sweet deal for Maynard. I've said it all along, he has been their guy from the start. Top coach in the area, has ability to take Russell football back to promise land. If deal works out I think it's the homerun Horne needed to hit.
If Russell can get him from Raceland, it would be what I consider a "homerun" hire.
The announcement will be sometime next week. I would say Feb, 21st.

:devilflamGo Devils!
Good Luck whoever they hire.
