Taylor County 2013-14
#31
Taylor's schedule might not be the toughest, but that does not mean that they do not have some good players. I see Goodin, Wiggington and Sloan doing a lot of things in the 5th region this year. It should be an interesting year in the 5th region.

They do have good players, but they had good players last year, too. And got absolutely beaten black and blue by John Hardin late in the season (and John Hardin returns a D-I player in Keon Williams, a potential D-I player in Matt Miller, a player who shined at State in Patrick Anderson and a 3-point bombardier in Elijah Smith).

E'town has a veteran backcourt (McDonald, Cotton) and arguably the region's top player (Harding) now that Dikembe Dixson is gone.

Bardstown is deep and fast and athletic. Played a tough schedule. Already had a key win (John Hardin).

Taylor County has the weakest schedule of any of the region's big names, not much depth and historically no tradition to rely on. Come postseason, those things ARE factors whether folks want to admit it.

Could Taylor win the region? Sure. Goodin can take over a game. The "Big Wig" can earn a double-double with ease. Sloan has showed promise (but struggled in a big game at crunch time, i.e. Cordia, which might be a concern).

But I don't think it's fair to throw them up there with the other teams when TC has NOT done what the other teams have done to earn their levels of respect, either.

During softball this season, people tried that with Taylor. And like always, they were done when it mattered. Taylor was excited about making it to region in boys soccer too, and then got absolutely manhandled.

Contrary to popular belief in Campbellsville, the best program at Taylor is the BOWLING team (either one) before boys' hoops.

I agree about Taylor's schedule and the other regional teams playing a better schedule. I think they had Etown on the schedule earlier and it was cancelled. Do you know if their game has been rescheduled with Etown?

I have noticed that many TC fans try to put the teams among the elite without any reasonable argument to do so. The teams must earn the respect and that will come if they work hard and not think they can just show up and get respect. In other words, do not listen to the "we deserve" chatter and listen to and live the "we earn" chatter.

67-59 TC with 1:00 to go. TC had an 18 point lead in the 4th but shut it down too early.
