Harlan Co. @ Greenville,TN 9/27
#31
Some Coach T guys coming to BGR? Awesome! I use both sites, just use BGR a whole lot more. I actually live in Tennessee, 30 minutes over the border near Lafollette.

I go to Middlesboro every day though, for school 5 days a week, usually something going on Saturday's, and church over there on Sunday's. And I was born in Middlesboro.

I have a whole bunch of family that goes to Cumberland Gap and I go to their home games when Middlesboro is playing on a far road trip or has their bye week.

And Greenville is a VERY good team. They are dominative. In basketball and football.. Cumberland Gap gets KILLED by them EVERY year.

Harlan County will have their hands full, but I'm not sure Greenville fans are quite sure what team they are dealing with. After all, Harlan County is a GREAT 5A and Greenville is a GREAT 4A. It should be a crazy close match.

I pick Harlan County in this one, and that's from someone who knows some about both teams.

You obviously haven't seen GREENEVILLE play this year. Different animal this year by far. We have one of the best defensive teams we've ever had except for 2011. They were nicknamed the SHARKS! But I still smell blood in the water! Go GreenE Devils!

If you disagree with me on saying that the game will be close, you need to learn your KY football.

Harlan County is a GREAT team. Greenville is a GREAT team. Both teams are very good on the field, and it will come down to the wire in this one, I assure you. I see Harlan County pulling it out slightly.

It looks like to me Harlan gives up points and Greeneville is the one team that can score from anywhere on the field and quickly at that. In talking 35 points in 15 plays.

I saw you have Pulaski as the regional favorite now.

Ive had PC as the regional favorite since last year, along with HC.
I can bring up the post if youd like. I thought HC was going to be a deadly animal according to HC's posters, and ended up saying the should win the region, but yes, as of now I feel PC is much better.
Ask the Somerset fans if i was right about PC this year. I knew they would be.

GREENEVILLE Wrote:I think you are speaking of morristown west? We beat them earlier this year and we actually beat Alcoa back in 2011. Tell us about your team. Let's see what we both have here. But seriously look us up in YouTube

Yes, Morristown West is one of the schools who has had fans on the site. In all honesty, there are probably 20-30 high profile TN-KY high school games every year. And its almost every week you see one, but especially in the opening week. Just last week Bowling Green went and took care of business at the Mccallie school down there.

First off, it's Harlan County. You gotta be careful getting those confused, one is a terrible 1A and the other is a dominative 5A.

Secondly, Harlan County has given up points to GOOD TEAMS. Who has Greenville played this year? Last week you all played Claiborne County, who is a average 2A. Really, none of the teams you all have played this year are THAT GOOD.

Harlan County is VERY GOOD. I believe you are overlooking them way too much. Oh well, you will be shocked Friday night.

I'm not familiar with Mccallie. I do know MoWest played a Ky team this year and won like 49-14 or something. We beat MoWest 41-0 After that

Mo West played Whitley County, who sucks.

We get accused of having a weak schedule year in and out but we make up for it our non conference schedule. This year some of those non conference games have been a little easier but we know how to win. We've had a schedule like this for going on 4 years now with 2 titles

Yes, Mo West actually played my alma mater and beat them, but dont let that confuse you. Whitley County may be fielding there worst team in 30 years, and has yet to win a game. HC will easily do the same to Whitley.

The Mccallie School is a massive school, im surprised you havent heard of them. If im not mistaken, there a private with a tuition of around 40,000, or atleast someone said anyways.

They play the best team in TN, Ensworth this friday if that tells you something.

I aint arguing that philosophy this year Confusednicker:

It just aint the Colonels year. It seems we always play TN teams when were really down

I'm telling you though Greeneville can score at will. And no I'm not overlooking the Bears I promise! I'm just saying that Greeneville is that good! We scrimmaged 6 and 5a this preseason and not one on those really good teams could come close to us granted it wa a scrimmage. A game like scrimmage with no KR

^
I know that.
I think Greenville will win the game.
Ill be surprised if its by a large margin though.
#45
I'm not big on division 1 or 2 schools lol. We played a Ky team in 08 and 09 I believe. Beat them both years. Mercer?
#46
Harlan COUNTY is a primarily run team? That plays into our strength. Greeneville gave up 12 rushing yards last week and the week before they played Jefferson County one of the largest 6a schools in the state and held them to about 40 offensive yards the whole game.

Mercer won a state championship in there first year of existence, which i think was 06, when a few schools consolidated, since then theyve been rather weak.

Harlan County is not primarily a run team, they are a run team, to the fullest extent. Its one reason im giving Greeneville the nod.
#49
It was actually 07 and 08 when we played.
#50
I'm gonna say since about 06 we've been a run run run team and maybe one or two passes a game. But this year it's been run pass pass. We are very fast at WR. Like 4.4 and some have said even faster. But I'm telling you we are FAST. People here in town honestly think it won't be a game at all. But I'm giving you guys credit. I'm gonnna say this game will be good but Greeneville pulls away and wins 42-17.

RunItUpTheGut Wrote:As i said to the other poster above, welcome to site and we hope you enjoy your stay. Please feel free to stay after the game and discuss and it would be nice to see a TN fan or two keep us updated on whats going on down there.
There are a lot of KY high schools that play TN high schools everyyear and it would be nice to get info on those teams.

Im not sure if your a fan of justified, but thats the type of folks youll be playing friday Confusednicker: j/k

Harlan County has underacheived this year. Many though they were a lock for there region and maybe even a trip to the state finals to take on powerhouse Bowling Green. Its just not been the case thus far. Youll see 99% run from HC and usually one or two throws a game as it appears.
Dont let Harlan Countys losses fool you. They lost to two VERY good teams. Belfry is almost a lock to reach the 3A state title game, where they have been the past few years, and Johnson Central who may be the best team east of I-75 in KY. IMO, they would almost be a lock to get to the 4A title game if it werent for Highlands, who has won 6 or 7 straight state titles and has already embarrassed one of Floridas finest this year.

Good luck and we hope to see you all stick around!

yes ill stay around and chat from time to time because we will be coming to see you all next year if eveything stays the same , even though i live in tenn i am a BIG BLUE FAN I BLEED KENTUCKY BLUE BASKETBALL so maybe if we dont talk football we can talk b-ball LOL ! my dad was from ky and i have always kept up with and ky sports i have seen you guys play in the past and have kept up with bell co. i know they bring a great program as well as you guys - hope u all have a safe trip and be nice to meet some of you ky folks all for now!

The Bears are coming off a humiliating performance from last weekend. If they survive practice this week, I'm looking for a battered, hungry Black Bear team to get off that bus in Greenville!

Win or lose, I'm expecting a performance that will be more like the real Black Bear team...at least I'm hoping for it.

If we play to our potential, Bears will come away with a "W" in a close one. If we play like we did last weekend, Greenville will wipe the grid up with us.

Go Black Bears!!! I've got faith in you!!

Harlan County is in its 6th season after 3 Harlan County schools consolidated in 2008. We have 3 straight district titles, 2 regional championships resulting in playing in 2 state semifinal games.

We are a run team all the way. With some ability and skill to throw we just don't.

For the Black Bears to win our O-Line will have to control the line. And our Filthy Animal Defense will have to show up.

People keep saying we are down but we have lost to the 2 best teams in Eastern KY. Just laid an egg last Friday! I say good we got it out of the way.

The season is still young, and Harlan County will be okay.

I don't know a thing about Greeneville but they could be the best team we have played so far!

Still after after getting embarrassed I say they come out hungry and pull out a win!

Black Bears 34
Greeneville 28

Is your defense good or not? Greeneville will score a lot if it's not. Our qb is our leading rusher
