It would be armageddon for some schools that are more successful within city's or counties with multiple schools. Some schools would become essentially minor league schools for other programs that are traditional winners. As one talented class of seniors leave, kids from surrounding areas would move to the school decimating the school they are leaving. There would be nothing to stop this without a transfer rule. It happens regularly now but the scale at which kids would transfer back and forth would be nuts within cities counties with multiple schools. While this might be good for a select few kids who have the means to drive/ move around it would however be determintal to a poor kid who cannot change schools. How is this fair. Should we just drive kids wherever they want to go? You have to understand that some kids do not have the parental backing to not make a rash decision when things dont go their kids way. It would be utter chaos.that is nuts the bottom line is we make a kid stay and he usually plays no more, we let him go where he is happy and it could mean every thing to him and his family and yes if enough of the kids leave or not participate maybe just maybe the school aluminu and the political leaders in the town will reconize the purpose and the importance of athletics in a student bodies activities and will clean up their program. What would you say or do to a child who would leave your school in search of a better MATh program?

If he is not going to play anymore if he stays then why stay. Go to other school and don't play there.
To me and I've always said this. If you transfer you sit 1 year no matter what. If its worth sitting a year then 1.you had to transfer,2. it wasn't for athletics or 3.it was for athletics but was worth sitting out a year.
KHSAA doesn't govern math or academic competition there would need to be a KHSAcademicA for that.

No doubt a very athletic fast good team! Region champs.

Even if the parent they were living with died and they had to go live with the other parent or grandparents or something?
I don't think there should be any restrictions on transfers. They're kids, they only get to go to high school and play high school sports once. Let them go where they want.

Yes, one year, no matter the circumstance. If its a situation as you say, then they will just get a judge to overturn it anyways.
Either do it to all, or dont do it to any and open up recruiting to be legal for all schools.
If it were up to me, Id end all restrictions. It doesnt serve a purpose anyways. To many times have kids from out of state or even close to home moved schools only for athletic purposes and get a judge to rule them eligible.
Do it all or sit everyone for a year. Got to have a hardline or you get what we got now.

Could someone elaborate on what happened in the playoffs last year? Wburg was supposedly one of the more explosive and skilled teams in single A last year. Yet they couldnt put up one score on Hazards defense. The Hazard team i saw against fairview would have lost to Fairview, Pikeville, or Raceland in that game. They just didnt have the speed. With that said, what happened? Because if that is essentially the same team only a more experienced version, that they will field this year, i cant call them a legit contender.

Im not doggin on little brother, its just facts.
I see it the same way with Bowling Green and the winner out of region 4 in 5A.
Theres a huge gap. It appears it happen in several classes over the span of several years until one start to finally slip up.
Only 2 or 3 teams in each class have a legitimate shot to win the title every year, and over the past few years in 4A, 5A, and 6A, its only one team that has a shot.
Very little parity. However, for those that argue for the sake of going back to four classes, IMO, it creates and even bigger gap. Then, its two or three teams to ever class that has a shot, and those that are behind are even further away from making a state title possible.

I am just looking for some sort of insight. Pikeville made it just as, if not further last season with an even younger team. And if i am not mistaken Mayfield won it all with a junior heavy team a fee years ago. At the same time, i have whitnessed many senior heavy raceland teams come up short in a regional championship. Thus, i repeat my statement. Wburg and Raceland r in the same boat. Tallented teams...with something to prove...with the let down monkey on their back. Would love to see them both prove the nay sayers wrong, and meet each other in the semi's. W raceland prevailig of course! Not making a statement, just trying to remain optomistic
Ok im over the talking sbout it. Is it august yet?

You left out Arron Kissenger, Ethan Wilson, Zack Sanders, Alex Smith, Colin Lamoury, and I think a couple moore.

What if he is a junior, that would finish his career, Only reason a ked should be ruled ineligible is if he accepted any form of restitution money, car, apartment, stuff like that

Williamsburg will only lose 1 one starter on offense this year. Dalton Sizemore A big loss. However if his 8th grade brother keeps improving look out.
07-05-2013, 11:15 PM
This team has so much talent returning. With all star backs coming backs coming back all Williamsburg has to worry about is there offensive and defensive line. With losing two very talented linemen Jacob Jeffers and Dakota Loy. But they return some very talented linemen also. With the very strong Chris Helton. I look for an undefeated regular season and region champs. Getting beat semi state to a northern team.

Addiction I don't know what you are addicted to but I think you are forgetting where all you posted, I think I read one of your latest post where you picked North Laurel to put a hurt on the Jackets, You Whitley Co fans are going to have to come out of the closet and admit it you really don't want anything to do with a Burg win. I can promise you I pull for the colonels in every game and have some very very close kids playing there and they are very good.

Ok let me clarify myself ONE LAST TIME. When I posted on the Willasmburg 2013 thread I DID NOT see the North Laurel game. If you 64SUR and topnotch want to cry about me predicting you to ONLY LOOSE 1 regular season game then go ahead. As far as "bashing" you 64SUR I do not believe predicting one lose is "bashing" you in any way. But if you think it is I really do not care at all. I like Willasmburg they are a very good 1A team but I could care less if a one Willasmburg fan likes me because I share my opinion which I do believe this website is for and stay classy. Support Eastern Kentucky football teams. I support you all but I will not suck up and say your going to win a game that I feel like you won't win. Lastly topnotch you really try to make fun of my screen name? Then want to talk about staying classy? Haha Try growing up first. Hope you all have a great season truly do. But I still stand in my belief that Willasmburg will loose to North Laurel.
