VV actually the rule is until the ball touchs a players hand.
I have seen it called several times in both naia, and college as well as high school
its just that just a palming, carrying, or turning it over are seldom called today

:thumb:I just want to start by saying that the game between SF and paintsville was a very hard fought game by both teams. However, SF pulled it out in the end :#1:and it looks like they're Richmond bound. It was a fair games for both teams, and people can say whatever they need but all that matters is in the end look who came out on top!!!!!!!!!!! GO RAIDERS!!!! :wenumber1

"PC_U_KNOW_98" Wrote:They chanted "Who's Your Daddy" at Kevin Williams while he was shooting free throws. Kevin lost his dad 2 years ago after he dropped Kevin and his brother off at school the same morning Paintsville was suppose to leave for Gatlinburg for a Christmas tourney. Totally UNCALLED for and HEARTLESS.
Being someone that STRONGLY believes in "what goes around comes around" AND someone who has lost a parent, if these kids were chanting that out of MALICIOUS INTENT, I'd hate to be them when the "what goes around" eventually "comes around."
It will.
And what is sad...when the REALLY bad thing happens in their lives--and yes, it might be 10 years from now when they have a child of their own and something HORRIBLE happens to it--they'll probably feel it was totally unfair and they did nothing to deserve such a thing.
Stupid, heartless, and UN-FORGIVABLE things you say can NOT be taken back. Once they're said, they're said.
And once your payback happens, it happens.
Congrats on your "big win" tonight (remember, it's ONLY basketball)...if that chant actually played a part in your team's winning, hope it was worth the PAIN you're probably going to feel one day.
My deepest condolences to the young man that lost his father.

Wow, what an exciting game! The best game I've been to all season. The atmosphere was awesome, and you came out and saw a game where both teams played their hearts out. That's what matters the most, there wasn't a dull moment the entire game. Hats off to the Tigers as they controlled the game for the most part, just came up short when it mattered most. J.D. Vanhoose shot lights out tonight. He played a great game....
As for the Raiders, congrats to Coach Barry Hall and Co. for back-to-back All 'A' Regional championships. It definitely couldn't have came to a better group of guys than SF's coaching staff....
The Raiders were clicking on all cylinders tonight. Whether is was Ryan Johnson's leadership and ability to create off the dribble, or Ethan and Mason's shooting ability, or Ryan Little's inside presence and his post game, or solid play off the bench from Justin Slone, this team came ready to play tonight and got the job done. Good job Raiders and good luck down Richmond and represent the 15th well!!!
sportwhiz, accept the loss man.... No need for sour grapes, the game was terrific. It was an awesome game played with a lot of intensity. Neither team deserved to lose tonight, but unfortunately, one team has to go home....

"Wyatt Earp" Wrote:Hats off to both the teams, Cheerleaders and fans. This was a game of high emotions that ran throughout the evening. Paintsville attacked early and South Floyd countered. We all can say things about the refs or the players taking cheap shots all night and nothing will be changed. Paintsville has a talented team and so does South Floyd. They played as hard as anyone could ask for the full 32 minutes and not once did either back down. I thought that both pulled back from a pressing style because of the guards on each team handling the press. Ryan Johnson has always played the style he uses and has never been called for palming it and this includes down state where he has played many games. South Floyd did not pressure the ball full court because of the way Paintsvilles team handles the press. That is a tribute to BMR and his staff for days of work in practice. South Floyd plays in Richmond Thursday and I would almost guarantee the players will be there to support the Paintsville Girls 15th Champs when they play. I guarantee you could ask anyone on the South Floyd coaching staff and they would have nothing but positive comments about the Paintsville Tigers and Bill Mike Runyon. Great game just bad that both could not win.
Great post Wyatt.......... Both teams did a great job tonight playing their Heart Out..cheap shots and words came from both teams...refs did as good as they could...even with 3 its hard to see everything that goes on:Glasses: :ref1: ....Great job Pville #23... Super Great job SF #34 MVP:champ: ... I seen 10-15 boys that need to hold their head up high:theman: .........GREAT WIN FOR THE RAIDERS........

PHS lost because of PHS. Simple as that. Tough lesson to learn and maybe it will hurt bad enough that they'll take care of business next time.

I Think That The "Chant" That Is Being Referred To Occured During The AC/Paintsville Game On Friday Night, Not The SF/Paintsville Game Saturday. :CE_DP_Ste

The chant was done by the fans from AC during the AC/Pville game.
And should have never came up here but it did.

I thought it would be this type of game and it was. I loved every moment of it, because these 2 schools seem to bring out the best of each other.
No one has a right to really complaign one team won one lost, the effort from both was fantastic.
This is what 15th region basketball should be.
when a game is that close and each posession is so contended then both the teams competitive juices boil over. i saw cheap shots and retaliations by "BOTH" teams, and most of the time it the second man who gets caught.
I tend to call them as I see them. I didn't think anyone played any more spitful than anyone else. But if you are from paintsville you will see it one way if you are from South floyd you will see it another.
So where does that put us?
Congratulations to both teams for a great game, congratulations to Barry Hall for his back to back championships.
