I would really like to see a third matchup on neutral court!!! Who knows could happen!!!

Curveball, I must say that was a heck of a prediction.

It is amazing that no one at the game is complaining about the refs. Only those who were not there. 13th region refs are terrible as a whole. Nobody from the 14th should complain about other schools having transfers. The 14th region has an All Canada team.

Good win for Clay but I think its a toss up between Pineville, Clay, and Barbourville. You got the Mills kid at Barbourville looking pretty good and you got the duo of John Simpson and Seth Jeffery at Pineville.

Ha that's funny, the McDaniels have always gone to Clay County Schools, Hacker Elementary and CCHS. His Dad is the Principal at Hacker Elem his mom teaches at CCHS. His parents both went to CCHS, the McDaniels have never gone to school anywhere but CLAY.
You're don't know as much as you think you do. Hardy HAr :biglmao:

Hitter says the McDaniel boy went to grade school in Perry County...LOL. His dad is a principal at an elementary school in Clay Co. Where do people get some of this stuff. I forgot...it is hater season.:biglmao:
02-14-2013, 10:05 AM
Wow.. Definitely the most uninformed post I've seen. McDaniel went to Hacker Elementary, not RG Combs, the same school as the legendary Richie Farmer

I think Tommy Hall and crew was in the 14th. Enough said!!!

Where is Farmer's son at? He should be a freshman, I thought he would be at Clay this year.
02-14-2013, 10:23 AM
Farmer's son will be in the lineup next season.

Will Farmer's son be a soph. next year? Talented? Who will play inside for Clay next year? I know they lost Lyttle, Bowling and Reed.

Nice win for the Tigers! Always good to see a 13th Region foe to do something that is deemed as "impossible" to most in the 14th Region.. It is very likely for the 13th Region to advance past the first round in this years Sweet 16..

I want to begin by saying Justin Johnson is the real deal. If he keeps his shot consistent, has plenty enough potential to play for a Marshall, WKU, etc. type school. (Not sure on his complete offers as a junior.
Kody Reed was murdered by Cornett and that foul HAD to be called or it would've gotten ugly. Reed was even shaken up.
Beverley is solid but still so hard to judge has a freshman. I've said time and time I'd take McDaniel over any pg in the mountains with the only plausible being Justice.
Clay County is clicking and just need to take it one game at a time and they will be in Rupp.
Btw, I agree with the above comment that I don't believe CC needed much help beating mountain teams during those Keith days. They won the Classic so many times it is known as their invitational. 1 state and 2 runner ups. Get over yourselfs.

Clay will start McDaniel, Smith, Farmer Wolfe. There is rumors of a couple transfers but I'm not sure on any of that. If not then Holland, 6'2 JV Forward probably starts. Farmer would have possibly started on this yr Clay team over Rice. Nice player

Clay will be losing a lot inside. Ryan Holland may get the start. Time will tell.

they will have holland or mills i would think but they will be way down next year they lose everyone other then mcdaniel and he may not play because of gulf i say they will be in bottom of ranking next year....Clay might not get out of district

McDaniel will be playing basketball next season. And it will be for Clay County.
02-14-2013, 10:59 AM
he may be but if he does what his brother done then he won't be playing.
02-14-2013, 11:05 AM
McDaniel's brother was an average basketball player.
02-14-2013, 11:10 AM
McDaniel's brother helped lead the Clay baseball team to back 2 back region titles! He chose to help lead the baseball Tigers, like younger brother has chosen to help lead the basketball Tigers! Everyone in Clay Co is hoping the basketball Tigers have the same success as the baseball team had those 2 years!
02-14-2013, 11:10 AM
he was average i would say that because they move him up way to early just like mitch i'm just saying that if he sign some were to play gulf they may say you can't play ball.
02-14-2013, 11:13 AM
if clay is going to win the region it better be this year because year's to come they just dont have alot of talent
02-14-2013, 11:15 AM
McDaniel gave a "verbal" committment to UK in September. The kid loves basketball and unless he turns pro he will be wearing a Clay uniform.
02-14-2013, 11:18 AM
that's great for Clay because they will need him more next year then this year
02-14-2013, 11:18 AM
I have to disagree. Clay has some talented guards coming up. McDaniel will have 2 years left, Smith & Wolfe 3, Sams & Sexton 4. I will say they need to find a post player, is Holland or Mills the answer the answer? Will there be a surprise player like Bowling come out? Not sure either way, but we can speculate about Next year all we want, I like to live in the present and Clay has a GREAT shot at making it to Rupp this year.
02-14-2013, 11:29 AM
how do you disagree by the time sams and sexton get alot of playing time will be after mcdaniel leave thats put them being jr's wes and blake sr's and unless someone grow's then the only big they got is big red in middle school so now you are left with having to move wes to the block were you going to put sams and sexton both are short are they good guards yes but you can't play guards and win without rebounding....but clay has a good team this year not saying that they dont have a shot at winning the region
02-14-2013, 12:08 PM
Clay was transfer university before the 14 th region took over that the last few years.Back to the game Reed definitely got fouled but thought Johnson was fouled also on the last play.Definitely alot of contact. Not complaining Clay played harder and deserved to win.

EKYBubbaWatson Wrote:My memory is not short hitter. Name all the transfers you know from 1980-present. Not near as many as you're acting like.
I don't think Clay has had too many transfers over the years, but WOW, some of the ones they have got were definitely game changers. Namely Shannon Hoskins from MC Napier and the Ashers from Red Bird. Heck, if they had left Red Birds players alone that little school might have won the 13th. The one that was really good (can't remember if it was Woody or Stephen) helped propel Clay to the state tournament.....AND they only beat Red Bird, his former team, in the last seconds of either the semifinals or finals of the region. If I'm not mistaken, Red Bird took a potential game winning 3 as time ran out and their shooter was knocked to the floor but no foul was called.
And sadly for Red Bird that year, Leslie County got another one of their good players, I think his name was Collett. He was about 6'5 or 6'6.
