Boyle County @ Russell County 2nd Round
I'll stick with my first post,Boyle co 35 Russell co 21.
Can anyone confirm the actual game time? The Danville paper doesn't give one and the KHSAA says 7:30PM (which would be 8:30PM Eastern Time).

I had heard 7:00 PM CST before it was posted on here as well. Perhaps someone who knows for sure will chime in. I guess you could call their AD or email him or her?
Someone told me that the physical Danville paper lists it at 8:30 Eastern.

I'll bet they are going off the KHSAA website as well...

panther nation Wrote:Sounds like Boyle is already putting this one in the bag an getting ready for lex Cath! But I think both Boyle and lex Cath have gotten ahead of themselves just a little bit. They both have two very strong teams to contend with Friday and both can very easily get beaten. I hope that their teams are over looking Russell and Knox like their fans are cause it sure would be nice to see a Knox Russell rematch this year!!! Good luck lakers!! Kick a little rebel butt and the panthers will try to do the same hope to see you next week

By predicting a victory we are overlooking Russell Co.?? Then the RC fans are overlooking Boyle? FYI, there are several Boyle fans who think Knox will beat Lex Cath. No overlooking here. We have played Lex Cath and Highlands many times. Haven't played RC in several years. More film work done on this game than any I can remember !!!!!!! It's a long memory I may add.
A question for Russell County fans. Back in 1979, Russell County defeated Boyle County 19 - 6 behind the running of a big back named Popplewell. Later in the season, I think that the Lakers defeated Somerset in a close game to win the district. Back then, only the district winner advanced to the playoffs. Who did Russell County play in the playoffs and what was the result (score)?

I believe there are a couple of Boyle fans trying to push buttons, but I don't think for one minute that either team is overlooking the other. I agree, that Knox Central has a great chance of pulling the upset over LexCath. I just don't think LC can stop the run. They will have to rely heavily on the passing game to keep up, and that's a huge opportunity to have turnovers. In the end, I think the Panthers win. Canady will be a monster in this game.

In this game, I expect much of the same. I just don't think BC has consistently stopped the run all year, and I think RC will be the best run team they've faced. Boyle will have to be extremely successful in the passing game, by catching the safeties cheating up on the run. If both teams play their best games, I think RC wins....not overlooking anyone. I just think RC is the more complete team. That said, there is no room for either team to make mistakes. If they do, then their chances will be slim.

Better than FTH!?! Child please... You had better lay off the crack you've been smoking. It has affected your judgment irreparably!

In the running game....yes, better that FTH.

I did miss that qualifier... I will need to think about that one a bit...
Stout statment to say an aspect of your game is better than FTH....... Adding crow to that pile my friend!

You my friend have pushed as many buttons as any of the Boyle fans has this week,i don't think not one time that you have had a thought that Russell could lose this game tonight.you talk about Russell having the more complete team as you call it, i guess you think this way because Boyle has lost 4 games this year.if Russell had played Boyle's schedule they would have 3 or 4 losses to.believe me you will face the best team in Boyle co.tonight that you've seen all year by far.i'll give you credit your a smooth talker in your posts, but you've been as arrogant as any poster on here this week.don't get me wrong i've enjoyed arguing back and forth with you all week, but lets be honest you don't think there's no way Russell loses tonight, and if they do lose your sure gonna have alot of crow to eat.win or lose no hard feelings,if Boyle loses i'll be one of the first to get on here and congradulate the Lakers.

Stout task for the Rebels to prove me wrong. Look what the speedy back from LC did to them. That was the real difference in that game.
Lake Trash Wrote:I did miss that qualifier... I will need to think about that one a bit...
Close in that respect, but I'll have to give FTH an edge because of the level of talent they have faced. Their only loss is to one of the National powerhouses in Cincy Elder.
laker20 Wrote:In the running game....yes, better that FTH.

So you go from getting smacked by mercer to better than fth. We ll find out soon. :dudecomeon::dudecomeon::dudecomeon::dudecomeon:
laker20 Wrote:In the running game....yes, better that FTH.

Just for pregame discussion:

In the regular season:

Russell County rushed for 269 yds per game

Highlands rushed for 266 yds per game

Even statistically. Now consider the schedules.

The Lakers can win tonight and even blow out the Rebels but I don't think you're rushing attack is better than the Birds.
I go out and eat lunch and the thread explodes!

I sure know one thing there is going to be a lot of crow tonight after the game. I like our chances tonight to win and could care less what the score is.

Who Ya With!
Nothing like watching the bully get a black eye. RC wins!
The main key to this game will be who does the best at doing the basic fundamentals and don't turn the ball over. With that Russell is one of the most sound teams around this year. And they can and will force a few turnovers that will result into some Russell scores. Russell will win this game Boyle has to play the perfect game to win and not sure they can do it. With special teams play Russell will have a big advantage and will be hard for Boyle to over come... Go!!!! Lakers!
Jack, there's plenty of ways that we can win this game. I've never guaranteed a victory, and I don't believe I've been arrogant......Proud, yes. I don't think RC is the best team because of any games BC has won or lost. I think so because I've seen how much good this team is in comparison to a lot of other teams in the area.....we are quite solid when we execute.

I've also stated many times that neither team can overcome many mistakes. These two teams are to close to give the opponent any cheap opportunities.
