They played several good teams, Pulaski District champ 5A, North Laruel,Whitley ,and south laruel, when they were suppose to be a good team, I think Russell broke there heart, and wil to play.AND OH YEAH,District runner up to Russell for second in their district.

Come on, are you seriously going to call these good teams? These are running clock games for the top teams in 4A

Whats your point?Russell should be ranked over Boyle they're undefeated.Boyle has 4 losses.

I can't help to think this sounds like the RC KCC thread....Like RC being punched in the mouth or BC being more physical... I don't know if RC will win I hope so but one thing for sure RC will punch back!!

We Boyle fans wouldn't expect anything less from the Lakers.

I'll get back to the actual prediction and go
Boyle Co. 28
Russell Co. 10
Russell Co. has a nice team, but Boyle will be too much in the end.

North Laurel finished 6-5 and was throttled by Whitley in first round.
South Laurel ????
Whitley and Pulaski, sure. I can see them as good teams.
Truth is that it doesn't matter. Friday is all that matters for both teams. Strength of Schedule is great for conversation but not reality.

Kentucky has a great strength of schedule...didn't work out to good for Joker!

Just making the point that RC really has not played that tough a schedule. I had seen the argument that they had not given up many points, so I wondered who they had played and wanted to compare the sos's.

You're going to compare a SEC school to a Kentucky High School? I will add to your point. Besides Kent State, Kentucky was only relevant in two of those games(Georgia, Western Kentucky). Boyle County was a few plays away from winning a few more games and were completely relevant in those games. Nice try though. :notworthy

Yeah, maybe they come close again, if you call 14 close ,35 to 21 Russell county.

Going with Boyle County on the road.

Since Maxpreps has been mentioned, take into account each teams best 3 wins only:
Boyle Wins:
Collins Rank #40
Mercer Co. #53
Whitley Co #54
Russell County:
Knox Central #15
Whitley Co #54
Pulaski County #55
RC clearly has the best win of the two, but they are otherwise pretty even with Whitley being a common opponent. The difference in SOS is that the Lakers haven't been taken to the woodshed by some top 5 team, or a 56th ranked Danville team.
So, obviously the Lakers should be the underdog because Boyle has 4 more woodshed lessons than we have.

I'm curious, as Freshman & Sophomores just how many of your players really participated in the those first 10 wins including the two state title games?
I would imagine that several contributed in last season's 3-1 post-season.

I think the number would suprise you. Harris broke the KHSAA state record as a sophomore, While on D we had a few linemen see a lot of playing time and starting some games as sophomores. I do not think any freshman played any rolls for the state champion team of 2010. There are others that can add more information but this is who comes to my mind right now.

I actually expected a few. We have a couple of seniors who have been playing significant minutes since their Freshman seasons.

Though this has almost nothing to do with how the game will turn out Friday, a look at common opponents (Clay Co, Marion Co, and Whitley Co):
Boyle 173 points scored, 27 allowed
Russell 157 points scored, 34 allowed
Pretty even, with a slight edge to Boyle. But like I said, it doesn't mean much, all past numbers are meaningless come Friday night.

With that said BC has done that with pretty stout non-district schedule. Their non-district oppents record is 42-18 (70%), where RC's is 30-40(42.8%). And not to mention 5 of the 6 BC played are still alive in the playoffs(Highlands, Collins, John Hardin, Danville, Whitley). Where only 2 of the 7 RC played are still alive (Whitley, Pulaski). I know the game is not played on paper, but at this point its all we have to go by, so heres my 2 cents..... BC 31- RC-17.and Knox!!!

Boyle County will be too strong for Russell County. They will win by a 2-3 touchdowns.
