Raceland @ Fairview 10/12
#61
Not blaming anything on the refs. Fairview won, with players that shouldn't have been able to play, but nothing seems to be able to be done about that so Fairview will once again have a great regular season and might win a game or two in the playoffs, but anyone that thinks this is a state championship team is seriously looking through rose colored, or Fairview red colored, glasses.

Fairivew's schedule will come back to bite them. Lastly, I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret... everyone is talking about how fast Fairview is.... Guess what? The Rams have some burners too, as you will see first hand tmr night in Westwood., watch out!:flame::flame::flame: Confusednicker:Confusednicker:Confusednicker:

How about that prediction of a score 40-28 Where is the props for that. Fairviews D was more physical in the 2nd half # 15 was a beast. No more comments oh did I mention that prediction 40-28

Why shouldn't they be able to play??? You have no clue what your talking about.

Sure I do, and you can act like what they do is ok, but it is not. When you have to involve the courts to get someone on the field, then there is something amiss. But as long as they are allowed to play, then Fairview will continue to benefit from the less than ethical things that they do year in and year out.

I'm sure you will disagree with this but in America, in Kentucky and even within the articles of incorporation of the KHSAA, what Fairview did is called DUE PROCESS of the Law. You can continue your hatred and try to champion a cause against Fairview. You certainly have your right to voice your opinion but the one thing you should do is get to the bottom of this mess. You lump all of Westwood / Fairview in your comments...find out who is behind the recruiting and campaign against them but please quit lumping all of us in it together. Not all are guilty of what you claim.

P.S. Put some visine in that good eye.
#66
Eyes are good enough to see what is going on, and I am not saying all is guilty of doing what is going on at Fairview. But those at the top and the coaching staff are very well aware of it, and continue to let it happen and even encourage it. It will eventually be stopped, who knows when, but it will someday happen. And it is not my job or responsibility to get to the bottom of it. As I have said, I don't have the time or the inclination to pursue this. I suspect that eventually it will be taken care of and I suspect that it will be sooner than later.

If it was unethical why are you allowed to take it to the courts?? Do you know the whole story? Or just watch that one segment on the news? Better question, how did the news even know it was his court date? Csuse I'm sure that a court hearing for eligibility in breaking news. I bet the ol rams had something to do with that

You have the right to go to the courts. Due process. The whole proble is the KHSAA is sayin they weren't eligible when they enrolled. Fairview has documents saying they were. That's why the judge ordered the Injunction. If it was so unethical, why didnt Fairview get in trouble when Ashland and Raceland reported them for recruiting. KHSAA did investigation so wrong Doing was found. End of story

I am sure there is a lot more to this than the average person gets to see, that is the way things go more often than not. If the kids could have played there, then it would have been much easier for them to do that than come over here knowing all the flake that would come from them coming here due to them doing what they did to that other classmate. And I am sure that next year will bring more of the same thing, just hoping that eventually a stop is put to it. You and others can support this, I am not trying to change your mind, just don't expect me to ever support what they are doing, especially this years edition of the transfers.

Hello Mr. Pot
You claim you went to school and played football at Ashland. Hope you did but have my doubts. Just wondering how you could ever support your alma mater. Here is a fact for all of the fact checkers out there, by the way this isnt heresay, or a parent told me or someone in the know that I know or heard it in the check out line at Wal-Mart....these are facts. A few short years ago, (which Fairview haters like Mr. Pot calling the Kettle black tends to have selective memory on) there was an influx of athletes transfer into animal kingdom called Ashland. Just on the football side there was Gregg, Whetzel and Bush not to mentioned the additions of boys and girls basketball, soccer and probably the chess team. Here are some facts....Gregg, Whetzel and Bush did not meet any of the following extenuating circumstances to be ruled eligible by the khsaa. Here are the extenuating circumstances listed below, please explain Patch in great detail which one of these extenuating circumstances did these kids and their families meet.

a) BONA FIDE CHANGE IN RESIDENCE
b) DIVORCE
c) CHANGE OF CUSTODY
d) DEATH
e) BOARDING SCHOOLS
f) NON ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION FOR AN ENTIRE CALENDAR YEAR
g) REASSIGNMENT BY BOARD OF EDUCATION
h) TRANSFER FROM NON-MEMBER SCHOOL
i) MILITARY ASSIGNMENT
j) CESSATION OF SCHOOL PROGRAM

You need to come out of the closet and man-up and just say you hate Fairview and everything we stand for...quality education and quality football team. It may be your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I've told you all there is no use arguing with Clit early morning wood and his band of illeagals. The Rosehill fans denied any wrong doing also.....Until they got caught. There is no amount of evidence you could supply to the fans of Illegal alien view to convince them that they are cheaters. So leave them alone and let them revel in their "Newly found but short lived glory. Soon Mcpeek will go on to bigger and better things, the illegal pipeline will dry up, and they will just go back to being Fairview. Until then let them enjoy their fake success. I for one though see it as no excuse for Raceland. I was very dissappointed with our performance Friday Night. As far as i can tell we have a bunch of little baby's that can't handle big game pressure. We were better than Ashland and choked. Friday night we were better than Westwood department of Imigration and Blew it.

You can't put this loss or the Ashland loss on the kids. I truly believe that our coaching staff is at fault here. I have questioned the offensive play calling all year long.

The talk of the kids from Huntington should probably stop as well, seeing as how Devon Turner was the one who burned us all night, last I checked, he has been at Fairview for a number of years.

I also need to remind some of my fellow fans that a rematch with Fairview on November 16th is not a gurantee. The way I see it, that rematch will have to go through Pikeville.

I was slamming Ashland not Rose Hill. If you were the better team then you would have won and not lost...3 years in a row! Whoo Hoo! I hope McPeek goes on to bigger and better things if thats what he wants. He is a great person and a great coach. He deserves any coaching poisition out there.

Speaking of the pipeline...what about your middle school girls basketball team?

I don't keep up with Girls Middle school Basketball. Heard they weren't very good though the other day. I don't be grudge the screaming beagles a little success. You yourself will have to admit though that before Mcpeek got there and opened up the Huntington Pipeline. Nobody had ever heard of Fairview football. You're right Ashland should keep their Mouths shut as well. They are getting basketball players from the same school. Do what you do til you get caught is what i say. I've told our people the same thing. We should fight fire with fire. Portsmouth has a lot of Nice athletes nobody is tapping into. If they are going to let you guys get away with it how can they say anything to us. If the KHSAA lets this stand then they are proving that their is no need for them to exist at all.

Come on man......Bottom line is their stud got banged up and stayed on the field. Our Stud got banged up and was under a blanket from the 2nd qtr on. We have to toughen up as a team.

Need anyone remind anyone that the in the last 40+ years, Raceland is 31-11 against Fairview? I'm not into all this back and forth stuff, but Raceland held a winning streak of something crazy like 10 years at one point. I love the rivalry and even the trash talk to a certain degree. But the fact of the matter is this, until Raceland OR Fairview start to atleast bring home Region Championships, this rivalry will continue to be written off and laughed at by the people in Northern Kentucky.

Neither team has done anything spectacular. Each has had a few undefeated regular seasons and district championships, only to fall in week 13. Fairview fell last year, much like the Rams collapsed in previous years...go in with a lead at half time, then blow it in the 2nd half. The reason? Who knows.

With Beach in the game, Friday's outcome is much different. I was very pleased with how neither team seemed to give up, though it seemed home field advantage seemed to be a major factor towards the end, as Fairviews crowd got more and more into it. Both teams responded well to being stopped on drives, both squads also responded well to being matched score for score. The next meeting, baring some sort of twist of fate that either of these teams not make it to the regional championship, will be another dog fight. But as I had mentioned to some folks before kick off Friday, I didn't believe the winner of the first game would win the rematch if it happened.
#78
I don't have a dog in this fight but I sit back and laugh at each school involved. One pot calling the other two kettles black. Let's face facts, none of the schools involved would be as good as they are w/o their transfers. This is a point no one will admit to. Just come clean and say, yeah were winning games we wouldn't be winning w/o them. Does it water how they got there, if there rulled eligible it dosent matter, there there legally. All this hair splitting is funny.
#79
Agree with you Mighty Dog. I just fed up with Patch and few others acting like Fairview is the only school getting transfers. Then they will claim that it is illegal. That is why I presented the situation about Ashland. No one can refute the facts but it is okay as long as it is not Fairview. As always a bunch of whiners and haters. I dont really care other than the fact the Raceland, Ashland, Boyd, Russell ....they get kids! Atleast ours met the extenuating circumstance of having a BONA FIDE CHANGE IN RESIDENCE. None of the Ashland kids I stated in an earlier post met any of the extenuating circumstances by the KHSAA.

Their stud rolled his ankle, our stud had neck spasms, that's two totally different situations. I saw Daylin at halftime, he couldn't walk straight, seems like a good reason to stay on the sideline to me. It's up to the coaching staff to plan for situations like that, ours didn't.

Clint, You mention Whetzel from Ashland as being a transfer but I know I saw him play against Pikeville as a Freshman in 2008 for Ashland. Not sure about the other 2 guys you mentioned, but I know this kid was playing for them in 9th grade.

Wow!! using that everybody else gets kids excuse is old dude. I've said it a million times. Raceland gets kids every year and we lose kids every year. it's how we have survived as a school through the years. It's not a secret but, Can you honestly compare that to what is going on in West world? I don't recall having to get an injunction for a kid to play at Raceland ever. Hell our first undefeated team had two Fairview kids on the team that transferred over. I've never denied getting kids. We will get some from greenup and a few more from Russell Next year. we got one from Ashland earlier this year. You guys loose all but one skill guy after this year. Where will the re-load come from next year?

I'm not letting the coaches off the hook. I thought there were some questionable calls friday night.....I guess. I'm not a football coach. If I'm not mistaken the Ashland transfers are basketballs players at rose hill so when the program was hit with probation they were allowed to transfer an be eligible immediately. Also where rose hill doesn't offer a football program it is actually my understanding that a kid could attend rose hill but play football for the another school in the area If he chooses since they don't offer a football program. I am not sure if either situation is true just things I vaugely remember reading.

I agree that alot of times kids need to toughen up and play. But I agree with pulling Daylin. Especially with having to clear him from concusion like symptoms, after the Nicholas County game. If we want to get a win against Russell and make a deep playoff run, so that we can get that rematch against Fairview, then we need a healthy Daylin Beach. Without him, we lack the ability to get out on the edges. I think I read/heard somewhere he had 10 carries for 62 yards(someone correct me if I'm wrong) before he got knocked out of the game. He was the only back with the speed to get to the edge before the LBs/CBs did. When he went down, we became one demensional and they no longer had to worry about our speed in the backfield. Thus, they were able to blitz and stunt on almost ever snap, not worrying about getting beat on the edges. But like I said, with a healthy Beach, this is a completely different ball game.

And it's nice to be having this type of conversation that actually pertains...TO THE GAME ON THE THREAD. I am sick and tired of the whining about Fairviews players, still gotta play em...still gotta beat em'...I'm sick of the whining from Fairview defending themselves. The school got some stellar transfers from an area where the head coach has ties, they accepted them, (i'd say because either A...no one else in the area would accept them, or B...no one else in the area even knew about them...idk). regaurdless of why THEY GOT EM. LETS MOVE ON! Rutherfod and King are both super tallented, but neither possess the skill that Hayden, Whitt, Burnette, or the WR from LCA a few years back. And this backfield is explosive, but not the overall quality of Denton, Carver, Boyles from Raceland back in 08.

Head to head Raceland/Fairview..... Fairview had no consistent offense. If they didn't make a big play, they ran 4 or 5 plays and out. Raceland was the opposite. Consistent drives of several plays, but stalling in the redzone, and not taking advantage of dumb penalties committed by Fairview. Defensively it was just about dead even. Special teams became a big factor, but I blame the play calling on that. You never fake on your own 20 yd line...that was crazy. I hope and pray there is a rematch in November!

Also like I said I don't think fairview is cheating to any egregious extent. For me to think there aren't boosters and people at Ashland influencing kids to come here is beyond rediculous. I know of a couple of Ashland players that played while I was in school that probably should've been at the county. But they came for coach hart and for the program he built much like any successful program. Point is its not like fairview I unbeatable with all these kids. Beachwood,Frankfort and mayfield actually find this funny that fairview is being accused of recruiting but cannot even compete for a state semi-final key alone championship so far. At this point there is no point whining about it. Congrats eagles on your victory and you district championship. However the next step your program needs to take is to stop scheduling the greenups and east Carter and play Portsmouth,Ashland,Ironton so your kids can be battle tested.

I agree! Same for Raceland. Yes we have Ashland, Ironton, and Fairview on the schedule...but I think we need atleast 1 northern ky team and 1 mountain team on the schedule as well. Historically good programs don't have to "recruit" or intise kids to come play for them. Kids want to play for good programs and win. For the most part, excluding the McPeek era, the Eagles haven't really done much. Raceland is in the same breath. Both schools have a SOLID football program. That's about the long a short of it. Neither team even has a Region Championship...Fairview's "recruits" really didn't impress me to much. King and Rutherford are fast and athletic, but Devon Turner is their best all around back. Speed, agility, vision, and strength. Much more impressive than the Cabell kids if you ask me. so why are we carrying on about all of this?

If I had to guess why these cables kids are choosing fairview is or Chris Jennings was just in the NFL so that garnered media attention. And mcpeek is a former Marshall player so that probably does as well. People on our side of the border know Ashland,Russell, and Raceland are historically better programs. But in Huntington the team of interest is fairview because of the recent NFL association and Coach Mcpeek.
