Thanks for the compliment. The center is my nephew. Mitch did have a few high snaps last year, but I can't think of a season when a center, in a shot gun O, hasn't had a few high snaps. For a very undersized linemen, Mitch did a really nice job last year blocking also. Hopefully he'll have even a better year this season. Good kid. Smart kid. During his sophomore year, they moved him from guard to center. He wasn't all that happy about it as he wanted to play guard like his two cousins (my sons) had played. But when I saw him that night and he told me of his position change, we immediately went out in my mother's back yard and started practicing shot gun snaps. He was pretty rough at first, I have to admit. He's come a long way, that's for sure.

Not sure we have any stars. Just a bunch of blue collar guys. We did lose to Sr. OLmen. Couple of Dlineman but the guys in place played a bunch. Gotta replace some dbacks. Hester, couple of rb's.

Hester will really be missed! Hard to replace a player like him.

Just like any other place, there are some bad apples that make the whole look bad. People from both sides respect good football and know that there are not many better than these two teams in Ky.

Agree with that. Hester was one heck of a ball player. Athletically talented; a will to win; and very football smart.

Personally, I hope the Highlands players believe that if they go out there and play to the best of their abilities, they will win by more than 21. I sure as heck wouldn't want them believing they can't win or can only barely win. Never had a problem with players being extremely confident as long as the effort level matches the confidence level.
Will they win by 21 or more? Will they win at all? Who knows. But I've got zero problem with Highlands kids being extremely confident as long as they don't over look the opposition.

Just a Johnson Central fan who can't handle their insignificance. Highlands may indeed win by 21. Only means they would beat JC by 40.

eh, 21 would be the max. both teams will be knockn the dust off of the game day mode. Highlands does have a pretty high calliber scrimmage but that is still not a real game.

That's funny, wasn't trying to knock Boyle, just trying to point out what a different animal HHS is in the state of Kentucky. There going to be good EVERY single year. They could lose 30 seniors and win state the following year without a loss. I really don't know much about Johnson Central except they don't know where Bowling Green is!nicker:nicker:

We've played Highlands as good as anybody in the state of Ky.With kids from east Ky.
not from allover Ky and Ohio.

Who in Ky has kids from all over Ky and Ohio? Dumb statement IMO.

Why does people from EK think teams from the north always have kids from Ohio. Holy Cross is the only one I know of that has had a couple from Cincy. When team A beats team B everytime they play, couldn't it be Team A has a better program or more quality players? Why does it have to be "there Cheating". HHS Does get a few players from outside there 8 square miles, which a lot of people don't like. Everybody in the state goes by the same set of rules. BTW kids from Ohio are human, no super-powers, just kids.

It is actually only 6.4 square miles with 0.8 of it water.

I hope you're right sawmill, but it's gonna be a tough task to go to Ft.Thomas and get a win.i do hope that we play well enough to have a chance to win late in the 4th quarter.i think our offensive line is the key to us having a good season.they need to play alot better than last season for Boyle to be successful this year.if the OL has improved we could make a run at #8.

I here this is one of the best ol we 've had in a long time. I know the task that lays ahead of us is tough but we 're not going there to lose.

Why would highlands build a team with kids from all over kentucky when the best football players in the state live in Ft. Thomas?

If it is true, then I would like to know who the kids you are talking about are. I played at HHS and have been following it ever since and know who and where the kids come from and have only seen 2 kids come here from Cincinnati. If you know so well, please enlighten us. When I played, the team was excellent with a state championship and 1 lose in two years, there was 1 kid from kenton Co. on the team(His dad went to Cov Cath and not sure why he chose to ho to HHS), and one from southgate where there is no high school(the kids have to choose to go to HHS or Campbell Co,5 mins away or 30 mins away). The rest of the kids all went through the Ft. Thomas school system since elementary school. It is still that way for the most part. I do not understand why it is so hard for people to believe that. The school system draws families to Ft Thomas,a few might make their decision on the sports, but 99% are there for the quality education. A good example is the new president of NKU has school age kids and moved to Ft. Thomas for the schools, when I am sure he could afford to send them anywhere in NKY(he was a olympic qualifier and I am sure the sports programs at HHS did not have anything to do with his decision to send his kids there).

Yeah, this thread can now turn into another one of those Highlands recruiting/cheating threads!:lame:
As sstack said, please provide a list of the names of said kids from "all over Kentucky and Ohio". Provide PROOF and then turn that proof into the KHSAA. Otherwise, it is dumb.
BTW, I would suggest the application Speckie as a great spell checker for your browser. It is free and stops those embarrassing spelling errors in posts.
Now back to the game. I am looking forward to this and may actually be in town and get to see it!

I think both teams lost some very good talent from last year and both will start this year a little down from last year. I see about the same thing as the first game last year, Highlands wins with sloppy play that lets Boyle stay close; 35-21. If HHS WR's can show better than last nght and make some catches, and if special teams show up, HHS could win by more.

I think Boyle pulls the "mild" upset. Any team that takes a 51-0 beating in a half of football has to be mentally scarred.
