If not for one 70 yd passing td given up, Boyle would have beaten LexCath and won their district. Knox, Rock, or Russell would have finished 3rd if they were in Boyle's district. Nobody comes into rebel stadium and beats boyle in the playoffs.

I think Knox is a very tough well coached team and personally think they are the best of their district. I also think they are the worst match up for the Rebels of the teams in the 6th district. I look for Boyle to win if they come out aggressive but I think it will be closer than many think. (hope I'm wrong)
Looks like I'm in agreement with you... I think we got the best team out of the other district. I think it'll be a close game. Just hope the Rebels come out firing on all cylinders. I'll take Boyle Co by 1pt. 28-27. Go Rebels!!!

As bad as Boyle was playing on offense at that point in the season Lex cath was very lucky to win that game.Boyle held Lex cath to 18 yds rushing.and Lex cath had 3 pass plays that accounted for around 200 yds of thier offense that night.Boyle is a totally different animal since they've got thier passing game going.

I think Boyle will win the game. Don't care by how much, just win and advance on to the next round. If Boyle was to win by 1 or 50 this week, it doesn't change the fact that the following week at Rock the score will start out at 0-0. Just get through this week injury free and advance.

I hope Knox Central wins this game. But I doubt it happening. Boyle is playing at home and Knox's line I believe is bigger, but slower. In the games I saw, Knox likes to hold and keep the defense from penetrating to get to the QB. If the refs call the holding penalties again Knox then Boyle will blow them out. If they don't call them, then Knox may even win this game. Knox's QB is very good when he has a lot of time in the pocket. I don't think Boyle will get through the Offensive Line of Knox no matter how fast they are, but the refs could back them up with the penalties. When people say Boyle is down this year, they mean that Boyle is not the hands down favorite to win state as they seem to have been the past few years. Boyle will score 30 points, it just depends on how many Knox can score. Should be the best game of round one games.

If this is the attitude of the players and fans then I may have to adjust my prediction.......to underestimate ones opponent can be a killer in high school football especially if coaches start to buy in also.

There has been only one team score over 30 points on Boyle's defense that was Highlands.if you think Boyle will score at least 30 then i believe the Rebels will win friday,'cause i don't think knox will score over 14.

I promise that Boyle's staff,or the players will not overlook Knox come friday night.you don't win 7 state titles in 3 different classes by overlooking your opponents.they will be fired up and ready to play.

Come on, man(Chris Carter voice). I don't want to sound like a chump but do you really believe that Boyle County won 7 state titles by underestimating their opponents in the playoffs? Boyle County fans that frequent message boards to speak on the Rebels know what they are talking about. No one is underestimating Knox we just feel like we are the better team. Most Boyle fans are even saying it will be close. If Knox pulls off the upset we'll come on the message boards and congratulate Knox for the victory and discuss the game after we cool down at an appropriate time. The players and coaches know exactly what is at stake and are at work right now while I sit here and type. On Friday night you'll see a Boyle team that is underestimating no one. Believe that.
And also, we have become a second half team so if the halftime score is 14-0 that shouldn't be used as a validation that the players and coaches are underestimating Knox. We've been doing damage in the 3rd quarter.

Okay you've sold me, as long as kids don't buy into the talk of how the 6th is inferior to the 5th. (maybe they are maybe not)

Taking Boyle County in this, no matter score Knox will fight them until the final whistle. Two classy teams, classy crowds. Boyle will not be happy with seating arrangements unless Knox has changed something, cause they sure bring crowd. Oh how I miss looking forward to the Bell-Boyle state championship games the past few years. ( before I get corrected, I know it wasn't the actual state title game..but let's not kid ourselves

I'll miss playing you guys also. Always the funnest game to watch of the year.
The game is at Boyle but all the same the Knox fans may not like the visitors seating. It sucks.

If the Knox fans don't like the visitors seating, they are welcome to come over to the home side, there's room around were the Juggers seat.LOL

Oh, my bad, mis-read the thread title. Boyle's visitor sides did suck, but nothing is as bad as Knox.

you cant be talking about boyle county when you talk about classy crowds, i went to the bell/boyle game in 09, and they are the worst fan base ive ever seen. not trying to talk bad about the boyle county team, just their fans expect everything.

Boyle's fan base is as good as any you'll find across the state.theres a bad apple in every basket.I could tell you some stories about some games i've attended at Rockcastle over the years between Rock and Danville in the playoffs, and Boyle county and Rock in the playoffs, but it's all water under the bridge. It dose'nt look good on you to get on here an bad mouth a teams fans when every school in the state has fans that will cause problems from time to time.people like you need to show a little class and keep the cheap shots to themselves.

I don't know much about Knox Central but from what I understand they are a running team. I don't think any team can win against Boyle County running the ball and especially at home. I still see a Boyle-Highlands rematch for the right to go to the state.
11-01-2011, 09:12 AM
Boyle is 7-3 with losses to John Hardin, highlands, and Lex Cath. John Hardin and Highlands both make a strong case for the second best team in start behind Trinity. Lexington Catholic without a doubt is a top 10-15 team in the state. IMO Boyle has played the toughest schudule in Class 4A. I think Boyle's Defense will shut down Central and it be about a 21-0 type game.

Knox does have a physical line and can run the ball, however they are very capable of going to the spread as they did against Rockcastle and throwing the ball all over the field. I expect this to be a great game!

Really?
They've lost the last two years to a tune of 41-13 vs. Bell and two years ago they were blanked by Lawrence 19-0.
Knox Central was blanked as well in 2007 and shutdown in first round in 2006.
One year is the only time they've made a serious run in the playoffs and that was their heartbreaking loss to eventual champion Bell in 2008 in the Regional Finals.
"Tough as nails this time of year?" Not historically. But this is a new year and a new team.
All that said, I think Knox Central has the skill players to beat Boyle but I'm still taking my Rebels in a close one.

To each his own. I've never been ashamed to a part of the fans of Boyle County. The only time I am disappointed in our fans is when our stands aren't full. I only recall one time where a BC fan was getting on my nerves and that drunk SOB only showed up for Senior Night last year and hasn't been seen since. Thank God.
I love our fans. We are passionate and can be emotional depending on the situation but we are level headed and honest as well. I'd love to hear your stories of interaction with BC fans that gives you such a negative view of us. We always come in peace. We just believe in our team and want to see them achieve positive results. If that is wrong I don't want to be right.
