KC is a growing program with a glowing future. Coach Russell turned in a 7-3 regular season where a couple of plays easily could have us sitting here 9-1 really making people wonder about this game. And if Boyle is smart they will consider us a 9-1 team with every shot at beating them on their home field in the first game of the playoffs.
As is, we have the mountain to climb to beat the guys who sit on the throne. It will be a huge challenge for the undercat in this match but I have faith that our players will turn in their very best effort this night. I think that will be enough to win it. But I, like them, refuse to see it any other way.
As Jack stated, this should be your mindset. Trust me, if I know our coaches they are approaching this game as us playing a 1 seed with us being the underdog. They know what is at stake and they will be hungry and prepared. Good luck. Friday should be fun.

I have seen Knox central once (Russell county) Boyle twice (HHS and LC). Boyle defense is better than Russell county's and Boyle offense is equal or better than Russell county. Based on those games Boyle 35 Knox 14.

If you haven't seen Boyle play since the Lex cath game then you'll be in for a suprise if you get to watch them again.IMO they're a three to four touchdown better team on offense than they were at that point in the season.the defense has improved also.the offense has drasticlly improved since mid season.

Yes, it has.
The offense is playing with a lot more confidence.

The idea that "Boyle is down" seems to be a misconseption to those outside of the Boyle region. By Boyle standards they are down. However they are still a top 5 team in 4A, and could be really finish the year as arguably the second best team in 4A once the playoffs are over (I'm assuming Highlands isn't going to get beat). Boyle's defense is still very good, and the offense has been back to where it should be these last three games.
I'm taking Boyle in this one 35-14

Boyle County in a blow out
10-30-2011, 12:47 AM
Looks like I'm one of the few Boyle fan's who think this game will be close. I think Knox is a very tough well coached team and personally think they are the best of their district. I also think they are the worst match up for the Rebels of the teams in the 6th district. I look for Boyle to win if they come out aggressive but I think it will be closer than many think. (hope I'm wrong)

I'm not so sure about a blowout, but I do believe Boyle will win. After seeing Knox play Madison central friday on ihigh thier size worries me more than anything.both teams play was kinda sloppy, but that could have been because of the field conditions.it was a little on the muddy side.

Boyle is defintley the favorite.
As For the Panthers...If the right team shows up
Like the one that Handily Beat Rockcastle County
than This Could be a GREAT Game.
One Thing for certain K-N-O-X is looking
forward to this matchup and They have never
as of the last several years just gone silently into
the night from the playoff picture.
The Players and Coaches will be ready it's what
they live for.
Its Not the size of the Dog in the fight..But the size of the
fight in the Dog.

Agree completely, with no common opponents one has a difficult time judging these teams comparitively. Boyle played Whitley who had played Russell and Rock. Knox played Madison Central who had played Lexington Catholic. In comparing these match-ups Boyle vs. Knox looks to be a closer match-up rather than a blow-out. Home field advantage may be the deciding factor as all of Knox's losses have come on the road, where Knox appears to not play as well. I give the slight advantage to Boyle at home but turnovers will be the deciding factor and all being equal ,go with home field advantage and Boyle.

Who has Knox defeated that is a really good team? Rockcastle?? They had just lost their RB for the season before the Knox game. Madison Central?? They rested Hawkins and a few others for the Knox game. So tell me who is that big win for Knox....... Boyle Co. will roll in this one

After looking at Knox centrals year to date stats on the K.H.S.A.A. website i see they're much more balenced on offense than what i thought they would be after watching them play.I also see that canady is the bulk of thier offense rushing and recieving.can some one tell me do they run alot of screen plays to canady?or do they use him at reciever alot?
10-30-2011, 10:51 AM
Knox can't win there district , they have no shot at beating Boyle.. It would be hard to beat them at Knox, but at Boyle not happening..
Boyle 24
Knox 6
Boyle 24

You also have Marion Co who played Boyle, LexCath, Russell Co, and Clay Co.

Canady will line up in different positions. Sometimes in the back field, sometimes slot, some times wide, but he will run and/or receive from any of those positions. The thing that's misleading with their stats is that Knox's first 5 games the offense was mostly Canady, but the past 4 or 5 it's been much more spread out. They have 3 other good RBs, and several guys who can catch and get yards. Their QB has good skills, but thing that makes him good is his knowledge of the game. He doesn't seem to get caught up in the game, but lets it come to him.......very patient.

How does the QB perform under constant pressure, when he has little time to be patient?

He's very capable of tucking and running or throwing on the move.

What kind of team speed does Knox have? The one common theme that the teams that defeated Boyle have is that they were all faster than Boyle at multiple positions on both sides of the ball.

I dont think it will be a blow out,But i believe boyle wins.

Rock lost Rowe against Pulaski Co. --ROCK beat Perry Central and Russell without Rowe--and for Madison Central it would not have mattered if Hawkins had play on that muddy field--so your wrong on both counts----:biglmao:

if you cant win on the road at perry{played at clay},harlan county or russell,it will we a monumental task on the road at boyle in a playoff setting none the less.this said, knox was a play{or call}away from winning the district and facing a lesser opponent.while i havent seen the rebels play this year their record and tradition speaks for itself.knox will need a solid effort with maybe a break or two or just some luck to pull this out.they are due a dose of luck.think positive, play perfect, and advance.good luck.
