Ashland @ Belfry 10/7
#91
Clearly remember a Ashland wide out pushing a Belfry Corner to catch a touchdown at ashland last year that was not called so watch what you say:lame:

Does anyone really like Ashland?

My dislike for them is right up there with my dislike for the Taliban.
#94
I'm a HAWK fan but I have to say BELFRY went to the state championship last year.Did ASHLAND go far in the playoffs, last year.IMO BELFRY is better this year than last.I think it will be a good game but BELFRY will win big and they won't lose a game this year.

if Belfry's running game is as good as Ironton's and they can hang on to the ball they will win. Ironton ran through ashland like poop through a goose but couldn't hang on to the ball.

Way to show off that Hawk Intelligence. Ashland BEAT BELFRY last season. And as for the playoffs comment, no kidding. Belfry was in AAA, Ashland in AAAAA. Ashland was eliminated by a CovCath team that was eliminated by Johnson Central. The same Johnson Central that flattened Belfry and with which Ashland played more comptetively than the Pirates.

As for this season, new ball game. Belfry may very well beat Ashland, but your "playoff" argument holds no water.

Aren't you the genius that posted this gem?

"Oh......you silly tomcat fans. Ironton is better this year than they were last year. Not to mention their best back will be back to play against the cats. You are right they struggled with russell just like they did last year but, they won't struggle with Ashland. I've seen both play and Ironton is much more impressive than ashland. One thing going against Ironton is the fact that thier starters have only played 1 4quarter game the entire season so far. The only thing that will keep Ashland in this game will be thier referees."

All Ashland did in that game was knock the ball loose 5 times and recovered 4 of them, the Cats had the 5th one too but it was ruled down by contact. The final score Ashland 28 Ironton 6. DB's let up on the only TD Ironton got because the QB looked to be sacked yet again, by a D line that lived in Ironton's backfield that night. You were right about Ironton being good this year-again. Just wrong about Ashland.

Somebody on here said that GW's Switzer got D1 offers, both of their LB's are D1 Caliber w/offers to Penn State and WVU. In all they've got about 5 D1's with offers and team speed wise they are about as fast as I've seen. As Hart said, when a team has to run between 12 to 18 plays to score a lot of things can (and did) go wrong. (speaking of Ironton there)

Now don't get mad at me RAMBAIT, it's all in good fun. BTW, the same refs that call at Ramland and Russell wind up working at Putnam too. Never could understand where you guys come up with that stuff.
I don't know where Belfry ranks in Ashland's toughest opponents, but Ashland ranks #1 for us. We have a stable in the backfield right now, and that should work to our advantage. We'll see where it goes, but we did hang in there with Ashland last year and that was very early in the year.
Tomcat Pride Wrote:Is this post supposed to be serious? How do you know that Belfry's defense is stout? They havn't played one single good team this year,so how can you come to that conclusion? Belfry would be the third, possibly fourth best team that Ashland has played thus far.

Now that I have stopped laughing, I will ask my question. Who, besides G.W.,
has Ashland played that is so outstanding?
Belfry0304 Wrote:Your arrogance is ridiculous. Ashland if I'm not mistaken is one of the biggest cities in Kentucky. Belfry, is not. Belfry is a two-time state champion, played in the title game 4 out of the last 8 years, and our coach is about to become the all-time wins leader. If you can't respect that, GTFO. No slouch either way, this one is going to be a battle.

You can't expect Ashland fans to have much class. Belfry beat JCHS every year for many years and I have worked and went to School with lots of Belfry fans they never rubbed my face in it. Belfry fans I know would always say "You guys should be better" or something along those lines. I worked in the Ashland area and when Ashland's refs robbed JCHS about 5 years ago every Ashland fan at that Plant had to be sure and rub it into the JCHS guy's face. But man you should of heard the crying about that last TD JCHS scored last year lol. I can't count the number of times I have been told "JCHS is not that good just lucky" Even back in 1986 when JCHS beat the Highly ranked Tomcats at Eagle field the Ashland papers headline was "Lucky bounce cost Tomcats victory"! The paper didn't mention how Ashland got the crap knocked out of them and how they were ready to get back on the bus at halftime. I think its the Air pollution down there that makes them that way.

We don't drink fruity beers or have any sheep in Pike Co. so I don't think anyone's too worried.

That or just brain washed by all those years listening to Dickey Martin.

THATS BECAUSE ASHLAND KNOCKED THE GOOSE POOP RIGHT OUT OF THEM!!
4 out of the 5 or 6 not sure how many where just flat stripped or knocked out by just being aggressive on defense. Only one that I remember that they actually just lost The football.
Ashland will flat out hit you an absolutely flys to the football.
Ashland is the real deal. They are better than Ironton. I'll take Ashland in this game, although I would lime to see Belfry win.
Ive seen 3 ashland games this season and i must say they have me sold. Im not an ashland fan but these boys are playing good football on both sides this fall, aginst some legit opponents. Dont be surprised if these guys come out of belfry with a 14 win or more....

I don't know either but they are somewhere in the top three. For the record, everybody in Ashland knows you hung in with the Cats, the last two years actually. The players know they're coming up there to play a good team. And I would say that Belfry knows a good team is coming their way this Friday. All this smack is entertaining but the players have no lack of respect. Some of the fans will take care of that part.

They said " you guys got a dam good team" or "it was good for us to play a great team like that it will help us in the playoffs" none of them said anything about the score. On the other-hand when JCHS beat Ashland it was "we were cheated" or "he just ran onto the field before the play was over no big deal" or " that last TD was a cheap shot" or "your Coach is a jerk" cry me a river! It has got so bad against JCHS that having the refs in your pocket is not enough to win, this year Ashland invested in the KHSAA and made sure there veteran team gets back to back home games vs JCHS. It most be nice to play your district rival at home 2 years in a row but you still got to play the game! Looks like we have to get lucky again but Belfry will not need luck there just a better coached team!

You're right, it is real nice to get to play at home again this year.
Mmm. What's in a name? HONESTJCHSFAN? I don't know but something doesn't quite fit?Confusednicker: Stiring it up kinda early aren't we? You guys just settle down you'll get your turn in the shed in a few weeks. Mean while. ONE GAME AT A TIME. Stay focused TOMCATS.
Also, I know nothing of Ashland's opponents quality, but I wouldn't go by "D1 halfbacks" and stuff, cause Zeke Pike is Elite 11 and has only won 2 games this year.
Ashland gets to play JC two years in a row at home because the last time the classes realigned from 4 classes to 6, Ashland had to go to JC two years in a row. Think before you type, it has nothing to do with Ashland involving the KHSAA
I just think the Tomcats offense will be to much for Belfry defense to handle, and I think Ashland will stop Belfry enough to win the game. I look for this game to be pretty close at halftime and then the tomcats take over the second half and winning by three touchdowns.

Ashland opponents 27 wins 17 losses. But that's a true statement you can't always judge a team by there players that may or may not be going D1.

The GW players already have offers from Penn State, WVU, Notre Dame and Florida State, if you can believe the sports writers. And GW is ranked #1 in West Virginia. And maybe Pike was overrated. If you don't know anything about GW how can you slam them? Tell you what, I really liked Thomas Varney, good speed and a lot of heart, Switzer is better. And I haven't seen anybody play LB like Crousley does in the last 4 years. They're a good team but don't take my word for it, go on line and check'em out for yourself. Or you can just decide they're not much and wait for Friday.

Wow, really had to dig down deep to make that analogy even close to relevent, didn't ya?

If that's the best I could do I'd keep my dumbass in Ashland Friday night? You still living in mom and dads basement?

I am from Belfry and have lived in Ashland over the last ten years. I see a dying city just trying to hang on to bragging rights, but yet a dying city. A shcool rich in tradition but not a household name in High School football. Belfry's resume has been leaps and bounds over Ashland's the last several years.

Ashland is talented but will falter as usual.

Belfry 28
Ashland 17

TongueirateShoTongueirateShoTongueirateSho
Yeah, while your opponents are 27-17, Henry Clay has lost to some very good teams, as has Prestonsburg. I guess that all depends on opponents schedule as well. I wasn't slamming GW, by any means. I was just saying. I'm not an arguer really. I don't know a thing about GW, nor have I jumped to any conclusions. I just know WV football actually puts out more D1 talent than Kentucky, but IMO our 1A Champ (Mayfield) could demolish their entire state.

By no means does it matter, I really am hung and have no clue who will win this game. I know who I want to win though, lol.
