Khalil or Owens one will be 6th man for the lions so you lose nothing there bringin either one of those kids in. Ricky Sumner , Tyler Fugate, Josh mullins, Derrick Combs, and Austin Combs on the bench. Cordias a good 9 players deep. But ill agree with you about the horn. If Matt Day don't Score the team don't score. But with the lions, the whole starting 5 and whoever the 6th man will be can create their own shot. Either way you go about it one of these 3 teams are for sure gonna win. But if hazard dont return there football players for the basketball season i don't see their bench beating either team.

You do realize this is most of the same players that only won 7 games last year with one of the best coaches ever in the 14th region!

KentuckyFan35 Wrote:Let's think of it this way. Cordia has 3 new players, lets say all 3 are in the top 10 best in the region, they still have to play with 5. So they will be playing 3 on 5 and that's not a winning scenario.

Now, lets think of it this way. Buckhorn is Matt Day and a bunch of other good (not great) seniors. If Day has a bad game, that is a losing scenario for Buckhorn.

I think Sumner had like 25 on HHS last yr with not alot of help. I think theirs more than just 3 players there this yr.

Sumner definitely makes the Cordia team better.

U do realize the ones I named that won 7 games are cordias bench now. Imo that bench with sum new talent startin on the floor makes a pretty decent team.

And they lost by 34pts.

Two of them will have to start!

It was like a 15 point game going into the 4th. Hazard was up 10 with just a few minutes left in the 3rd. 4th Cordia ran out of gas, didn't give up, but just ran out of gas.

Yea and the lead was increased to 34 by the same players some of you said were a year or two away from being good.

Name all seven. And lets us know if they were a significant part of a team last year.
#75
I only have heard of 4 transfers.

I think he is including the younger boys who came from surrounding schools as well.

IMO: Cordia takes it this year..Hazard does have a deep bench, but not many players see the floor. Buckhorn has a better chance, but i witnessed myself the Soph. texas transfer handle Top Region player Matt Day.

But it truely is a down year for Hazard.. Kinda like last year.
The team I seen last year absolutely just quit at the end of the game.
Def down, lost to Jenkins by 3 in summer ball.. they was missing Combs and Olinger though.
#81
It is the year of the Horn.

Hazard has to be the favorite this year. They will be the deeepest team in the tournament this year. I also don't know if anyone has look at this years schedule, but hazard doesn't have to play a game until the semi-finals. In the semi-final game they will be more than likely playing lee co. So, that already puts Hazard in the championship game. On the otherside of the bracket you have Leslie, Buckhorn, and Cordia on the other side of the bracket. Bj Combs is playing this year, he has told me himself. Olinger on the other side has still not decided. If Olinger plays IMO puts hazard one of the top teams in the region.
Starting lineup IMO
5- Evan Whitaker
4-Jordan Olinger
3-B.j. Combs
2/1-Matt Thompson
2/1-Josh Hollan
Bench players
Jarrod Combs-4/4 in 3's In the District championship against Pcc last year.
Tyler Tripplett-Great defense player.
Collier Mobelini-Great shooter
Mack Hall and Hunter Hardy Could possibly get playing time.
Noone in the region can go as deep as the Bulldogs.
You also cannot leave out the coach Big Al.

With matt thompson in the starting line up hazard is def. down from last year. Not saying he isn't a good player cause he is, but no eric back. Hazard will make it to the finals, but imo they go down to the new lions squad or buckhorn. And this is if Olinger even plays. Also having a bunch of guards on your bench doesn't mean its deep. Maybe for the one and two spot. None of those players on the bench you just mentioned can play the four an five . Therefore calls for a decent bench not a deep one.
#84
Hazard will win the All A Classic. Nuff said.
#85
Cordia takes it.
#86
I think John Noble and Buckhorn finally win the All A this season!
#87
Hopefully Corida or Buckhorn!
#88
Hope just doesn't get it done...
#89
I think Buckhorn takes it.
#90
The finals will be between Hazard and either Cordia, Buckhorn, or Leslie. Really doesn't matter which one......
