Prestonsburg @ Betsy Layne 9/23

I don't know what you BL fans are looking at when you say "stats", but let me go over something with you.

While your season has been incredible compared to normal BL years, you guys have still played the crappiest teams KY has to offer. You want stats? Then here you go.

You beat a Bracken County team who is 3-1 (BL being the only loss). They beat Knott Central, who is currently winless. They beat Manchester, OH, who is currently winless, and they beat Fayetteville, OH by 3 points. Oh, btw, Fayetteville is also winless on the season. So congrats on beating a team, who as of now, has beaten up on the best Ohio has to offer (/sarcasm).

You also beat South Floyd, who is sitting at a whopping 2-2 (one of those losses to BL). South Floyd's impressive resume includes beating a winless Jenkins team and a winless Knott County Central team.

Now onto Allen Central. AC sits at an also impressive 2-2 (one of those losses to BL). Their resume includes beating Jenkins, who as I mentioned above, sits at 0-whatever on the season, and a Paintsville team whose only wins were against the winless Jenkins Cavaliers and the mighty Paris Greyhounds, whose only win was against a winless Jackson County team.

Finally, last on Betsy Layne's meathouse of a schedule, was the Mighty Patriots of Knott County Central, who, as you can see from above, has been beaten by all of the other crappy teams you guys have played this year.

So, please Betsy Layne supporters, tell me why in the hell you think you can beat a Prestonsburg team, who came 7 seconds of beating an undefeated 5A Perry Central team, who, by the way, is like 3rd or 4th in the Mountain Top 10.

Let's not forget that Prestonsburg has beaten Sheldon Clark and Lawrence Co, both from Class 3A and yearly powerhouses.

Yes, P-burg got beat by Belfry, but they did happen to hang 30 points on a team that held 6A power Henry Clay to 14 points. In case you haven't noticed, Belfry is also undefeated and ranked in the top 3 of the Mountain Top 10.

Casey County was P-burg's last opponent and currently sits at 2-3 on the season, beating a Taylor County team who would be undefeated had it not been for Casey Co.

So when you try to compare stats, it's not even close. So congrats on beating up on the middle school teams of Kentucky, while Prestonsburg is giving it hell against the best of the best in the state.

I will close with this, Prestonsburg wins this one 66-12.

Oh and never forget who owns you.

Maybe you guys will still remember these barn burners for Prestonsburg:

Sep 25, 98 Betsy Layne away 62 - 14 (W) District Game
Oct 1, 99 Betsy Layne home 46 - 13 (W) District game
Sep 29, 00 Betsy Layne away 42 - 8 (W) (District Game)
Sep 28, 01 Betsy Layne home 85 - 0 (W)
Oct 3, 02 Betsy Layne away 82 - 0 (W)
Have a good day!

Can't somebody support their school and team..just wondering?

You could tell me all week that BL has some good athletes but I could careless, BL will get a taste of a good football team this week and will be set off there high horse really quick. Big deal there 4-0 Prestonsburg could be 4-0 to if they played the schools of the blind. Knott Central come on no football talent there at all. IMO an injured Prestonsburg team will still come out and put up the points on BL.

Pburg-56
BL-12

Im sorry. You may say were on our high horses, underestimating pburg and so forth! But like you, some of us bleed our school colors and will do nothing but stand by betsy layne through and through! But in my best opinion, they better start dragging out the ol' joseph jamerson and the other injured players, because this is the game these bl boys have been looking forward to since day 1 of this season! I do believe these boys are quiet a bit more competitive than what you are crediting them for. But like all of you, Noone will know the truth until friday night!
#66
I certainly don't think Prestonsburg will be overlooking Betsy Layne.

A lot of these boys know each other and would love to come out and make a point early and often. We all know what Prestonsburg is going to do on both sides of the ball and that's blitz, blitz, blitz on defense and run the jet sweep early and then work in the pass.

Betsy Layne has fielded some quality 1A teams the past 3 or 4 years, but they just aren't on the same level as Prestonsburg.

Best of luck to both... Go Blackcats!

Supporting your school and day dreaming are two different things. Nothing I said above is fiction or hurtful. It's all 100% the truth. Sorry to have to bring the BL fans back down to Earth.

Like earlier I think P-burg wins this one, but I think it is great that there is even consideration that this could be a competitive game. It says a little about the injuries to the Blackcats but speaks volumes about the improvements to the Bobcat program

I'm a little amused at the low point projections for Prestonsburg in this game. We have been without Anderson, Jamerson, and Garner for 2 weeks. But you know what? Prestonsburg put 30 on the board against Belfry without Jamerson at all, and having Garner and Anderson only playing a Q and a half.

Does anyone here really believe that Betsy Layne's defense is better than Belfry's? Does anyone really believe that Prestonsburg, who scored 34 against 5A Perry Central won't score much more than that against Betsy Layne? Does anyone here really believe that Betsy Layne's defense is better than Perry Central?

Like I said earlier...I like Red. I respect him. I know alot of the BL kids and their families and wish them nothing but the best. But this game will be over quickly...

Ok here is my prediction. 77-6 if the varsity is not pulled. 63-12 if the freshman play the 4th quarter. Blackcats by as many as they want.
Once the game is over the loud speakers start playing back to life, back to reallity.
Good luck to both on an injury free game.

Prestonsburg 28-7.

This is to all the bobcats*

Y'all *work hard ever day just like all the others teams y'all can win on any given night just like all the others teams. So bobcats do me and everybody that has and will wear that bobcats jersey a favour.*This Friday night go out there and earn respect . Goo Bobcats
#79
Love the spirit and enthusiasm of the Bobcat fans! But, I think the Bobcats are out of their league in this one. I don't think they will score until Coach D calls off the dogs.
#80
love seeing you guys get all worked up and maybe you guys no i would love to see all you p-burg smack talkers eat your words, maybe your right but if they come in already thinking it's over they could be in for an upset. it's not our falt about the games or teams that will play us. I really think this is the best team BL has ever put out for a long long time. and besides most these young men have played each other thru grade school. Now they are older and bigger and really want this win, So the best thing I can say is bring your butts to good ol Stanville and enjoy whats going on. Could be one hell of an upset or just what you P-burg fans expect.. Who Knows for real till it happens.... So hope the best for both teams just really enjoy High School football...

Just got news that Joseph Jamerson has been cleared to play Friday. Don't know how much time he will see (hopefully very little), but add him to Prestonsburg's offensive threats Friday night.

Maybe some people will change their predictions to Pburg scoring FOUR touchdowns now instead of THREE... (just kidding....).

Here's hoping he FINALLY gets to shine a in his senior year.

Henry County is hardly a power house team, Sheldon Clark is down very week, Casey county, WHO? From what I've heard Casey County and the Bobcats are closley matched teams, there is one big difference... As far as athletes goes between the Blackcats and the Bobcats skills player are pretty even but would even give the Bobcats the edge there, the Blackcats off. and def. line are monsters not sure if the Bobcats can compare in department....The big difference here is in the defenses, coach Collins is a well prepared coach and is the reason why the Bobcats pulls this one out...In my OP Collins could coach the next level and be a successfull coach at that. Bobcats hold the Blackcats under 30 points Bobcats wins this one. Oh yea remember the 87 team....

1.We have not played a Henry Co.
2.Betsy Layne has a couple good skill players, but to say overall they are better than P'burg, :please:
3.Hold us under 30??? We will have that or more before half time.

:biglmao: ... Are Betsy Layne fans serious? Their coaching staff has made a schedule to get them as many regular season wins as possible rather than playing tough teams to make them a better football team. That is why they are 4-0. BL has played 3 weak 1A teams and maybe the worst football team in the state in KCC. While Prestonsburg has played a very good 5A team in Perry, 4 good 3A teams that would all beat BL by as many as they want. I am glad Betsy Layne is getting support for their football program and would like to see them be competitive with P-burg eventually and develop a good program but I don't see that happening anytime within the next few years. Betsy Layne will not score more than 1 td on the P-burg varsity. I'll take P-burg by atleast 6 tds.
#88
betsy laynes coaching staff has made them a very easy schedule playing the worst teams in the state so theyll have good regular season stat, once it comes time for district games, their gonna get their @$$'s handed to them.
