What happened to the same opinions in this thread?
You will not find me on there bragging about the tough schedule. I only come out of hibernation during football season and hunting season.

Da Bears! Next week will be a test, a pop quiz but a test! I expect da bears to give Scotty a rude welcome back to Harlan Co. Bears win, bears win!

I did not say you did but the overall consensus was that it was a tough schedule and now that those teams are underperforming so far it looks like it was supposed to be a cream puff schedule when before they played any games everyone agreed it was a good schedule.
We all know you are a hater. If you cant be happy about winning then you are not a true fan. Go watch some games you think are good and come back in November to see the Bears play.

Good game Harlan County Black Bears. Big crowd to witness the game. Next week will be a tougher game. Go Coach Larkey and all the Black Bears.

Not a hater...a realist. Can you honestly say that we have played a tough schedule? I am just as happy as my son is that we are 4-0. Not one time have I got on here and put down our team. We are really good, but we have not beaten a good team yet...period. I believe we will, because I believe that we are going to go 10-0 this year.

The Black bears seem great to beat the teams they have but THE TOUGH of there schedule is coming starting this week with Knox Central and goes on with PERRY and BELLL......... THEY WILL BEAT BOTH OF THEM ALSO.

Mama Bear Wrote:Chase was out of town. He'll be back for next week. It didn't sound like Coach Larkey was too thrilled with the Bears performance from comments I've read online and in the paper. It seems strange to hear complaints after you beat a team 42-0. Could've been much worse. I still don't see what it profits to complain mid-season about the schedule. It was fixed a long time ago. But if that works for you, then have at it.
Congrats Black Bears! Time to get ready for Knox central. Keep working hard.
Massive crowd last night! Great to see all the community support and big thanks to ARH for hosting a fun event!
Very huge crowd indeed. Next week at home with Knox Central should be a big crowd as well. Keep it up Black Bears. A sure test for HC.

HC was also without Tucker Lewis who is lost for the season with another knee injury. We are extremely banged up on the line....hope we can get well for next Friday....got a feeling we are going to need it.......hate to here it about the lewis boy he works real hard to be a good football player .is it the same one as last year
hope chase will be better by next week .my son and him hung around together at track meets last year .seems like a very good kid .this game is hard on linemen all the work, none of the glory.

Family vacation in the middle of football season? That would have never ever went over in the 70s. I think that whoever missed a game due to family vacation back then would have been on a permanent vacation from the team.

If you don't believe check the link below, it so funny to see read what fans across the state said and now its like complete opposite.
I'ts part of being a good team. It happens to every team thats doing well and are supposed to do well.
Look at it this way if HC sucked, nobody would care what there schedule looked like. Id rather have conversation over my GOOD team than not have any over my bad, which is exactly what im doing this year.

I came back for a reunion ( not my own) and ended up going and talking to some of the Harlan county bears. I was amazed at what they have have to offer the kids of harlan county. I was told they have the opportunity to end high school as a 2nd year college student with little or no cost to the parents. I was given a tour of the new school and couldn't believe the school these kids have. It was beyond words, and i couldn't describe it if i wanted to. I have never seen anything like it. Wow! So i decided to go to the game and it was packed out with 4 or 5 deep standing and what a show they put on. I must say, the Bears have one of the most incredible pregames in all of football. The people were crazy, it was like a college game. the people of Harlan should be proud as the school looks second to none in the US. At least where i live the football, school and fans cannot compare. They had every body involved and it was amazing! Great job Harlan county and keep on keeping on.

Is it a weak schedule or HC that good. I believe the 4 teams that HC have beaten could beat most teams in SE KY easily.

HC is good. They have beaten the teams that they are supposed to beat and that is the sign of a good football team.

I always hope and pray for our football program for unity and a family atmosphere. I guess thats not possible with postings over and over. If you claim to be part of our Black Bear family ( hitmeup) then act like a family member would. Post positive stuff or take your concerns up behind closed doors. I prayed about even posting this message and i just feel this stuff needs to end. Parents, players, etc read this stuff regardless of how irrevelant what we say is. Identify yourself so we know who the whispering cousin is or dont post at all. Success brings jealousy sadly and i can see it only getting worse. The majority around here are all behind the Black Bears- either join in or find another team to bash. God bless you all!

I am sorry that you feel the way that you do about my posts. I have not posted one negative post about our team. Throughout the entire year I have said that we were going to finish 10-0. If you want me to lie and say that our schedule has been difficult, I will not do that.
