Angle? No angle, just keep up with things in the 11th and eastern regions, most of which does not receive the credit they deserve. Kind of like Watts, from McCreary Centeral, had he played in the 11th Region who knows. This kid who you talk about proving himself help Rowan play within 10 of Ashland this summer without Wing and Cross. I read a post on another thread that said he and Delany were the best two on the floor. From what i understand he was one of the best in the 12th region last year as a sophmore. I looked up his stats on KHSAA site, not to bad, why don't you look. Maybe I just perfer to give credit where credit is due.

He'll get plenty of credit once the season starts if he can play.

What team do you support? Just curious...
And he is THE BEST point guard in the 16th, mark it down. 19.2 ppg as a soph at Somerset last year; He will rank behind Knipp, Terry, Wing and Rayburn IMO as game changers. Sure hope your team gets a chance to play against him this year!
Colonels87 Wrote:Well decided to revive this thread. It appears Mark Maynard chose to ignor any research of the region or watch any summer ball. Could be a bad thing for opponents. Looks as if the CATS Pause will be great looker material for Townsend. Based on what I seen this summer he is in the top 5 in the region. I guess the folks over in Ashland did not pay any attention. May have got him mixed up with Cross, who sat out the summer do to an injury.
The Cats Pause articles were a disgrace. No coach interviews, very vague "insight". Calling players and coaches by the wrong name..."Jason" Ison from Elliott instead of Jacob; Shawn "Tucker" instead of Thacker at Rowan. Very, very poorly done.

Earlier in this thread, you commented that Terry from Fairview would be gone. Just wondering did he move back to Ohio or transfer to somewhere else? Whats the update on him? Seen him play some last year, he has tons of potential!

Terry stayed at Fairview from what I understand. He'll be a one man show.

I support Greenup if you must know. Won't be hard to be better than our guard situation currently.

I don't think anyone is trying to annoint anyone as King, that has not even been suggested. All I have read is that he appears to be pretty good based on the people who has seen him play and the numbers he put up in the 12th region. And I am sure we will all get to see him play soon, hopefully. I am looking forward to things getting underway in every region. Should be an exciting season.

Umm, that sounds like an annointing.

Ok, well the first time any annointing was mentioned was by you. I was merely pointing out that the CP did not do a very good job. HD did say he was the best PG in the Region, I guess you can take that the way you want. I have talked with some sources from the 12th region and they say he would have been ranked in their top 5. It the 16th that loaded with PG's that have started Varsity for 2 years and put up his numbers? Here is the CP Top Ten:
Timmy Knipp, Mike Terry, Adam Wing, Jason Ison, Trey Williams, Koty Riley, Dylan Delaney, Aaron Rayburn, Gorey Gregg, Corey Hunter. How many of those guys are point guards. Not sure any are. So if you don't currently have a point guard in the top ten, that alone may make in the best PG. My understanding is that Dylan is a 2 or combo guard.
Lets just say for conversation sake that he is ligetimatley ranked 5 or 6 in this region, and you move Corey Hunter to 11. That gives RC 3 of the top 11 player in the Region, one at guard, one at forward, one at Center. Then you throw the Cross kid into the mix. Looks interesting on paper. I am not really a RC fan, but I am looking forward to seeing what that coach over there in Morehead does with this bunch.

Knipp, hands down is th best player in the region and maybe state.
IMO one of the top players for Mr. Basketball.

The new pt gd at Rowan can play. Ive seen him with my own eyes. RC will be a tough out in the regional tournament. They very well may be the top team in the region.
Watch out for Hayden Stephenson from GC. He is a very talented and in my opinion over looked player in the 16th.
TK is good but he isnt going to even come close to being MR BBALL.

Dylan DeLaney from Ashland has to be on anyones list of top ten in the region or at least I think so.

Very good player with a ton of potential to make an impact at Eastern, but too much talent in this class in front of him to be Mr. KY basketball.
If he had a strong supporting cast like Justice did last year he might have a shot at it if Elliott were to win the state championship, however, that will not happen. Good luck to him this year.

I know Timmy puts up a lot of shots,But hes a stud of a player..

Almost a whole season in the 16th Region, do you have an opinion now? With two teams left in the region how would you rank them?
