I sooooo hope you guys beat them!!!! :redboxer:
J.J. Jude needs just a little over 250 yards on the ground to break the kentucky state record for rushing yards in a season.

But will it be official? If the stats have not been turned in to KHSAA throughout the year, and are turned in only at the end, are they considered official records and posted? Just asking.

p.s. still trying to get the number of pages is this thread up to 10 by game time.

One Whack' comment is worth at least a page and a half of dirty replies, but I don't have it in me. God willing, may the best team win.:1:

This Highlands supporter is rooting for your Bell County Bobcats. Good luck. I appreciate good football and teams that play with a tradition of excellence.

BellCoBobcats09 Wrote:Dudley even said it on the radio and the newspaper. You guys will never give in over that.

I know what he said, I was at the game and have watched it several times on film (DVR from WYMT) and it doesn't match up with his words. If you have access to the film, go back and watch it. I'm not taking anything away from Bell Co. because I believe they could possibly be the #1 team in the state in all classes...even over Trinity. However, I would lay all my credibility on the line over this. It's almost as if you guys are a cult down there that has drank the kool-aid and you are anxiously awaiting the asteroid to come pick you up. He is the same man that stated the only regular season loss came to the "University of Alcoa," like the recruit which isn't the case...I hope you guys take state, would love to see the all-time wins record come back to the mountains.

Now, back to the game. I believe in order for JC to take this one they will need to get a few stops, create a turnover or two and control the clock/tempo of the game. It would take a complete effort, one superior to the effort against Cov. Cath. Hope for a great game and that both teams come away injury free.
THE TEAM WITH THE LEAST TURNOVERS WILL WIN THE GAME......watch and see.
JJ JUDE 132 yards
Highlands 21
Central 14
Well Well..Tonight is the night...Go Matney-Jude & Eagles!!!!
HUGE GAME!

Its all good down this way. He said that about Alcoa because NO ONE can touch that team. Their going for their 7th STRAIGHT State Title this year.
from nky.com

Highlands (11-1) at Johnson Central (10-2)

WHAT: Class 5A regional final; winner will play at Pulaski County or Harlan County in the state semifinals
WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. today; 257 N. Mayo Trail, Paintsville
WHAT TO WATCH: Can Highlands stop Johnson Central junior standout running back J.J. Jude? The junior set a single-game state rushing record earlier this year and put up 439 yards in last week's win over Covington Catholic. The Bluebirds have contained some pretty good running backs this season - Ryle's Travis Elliott, Beechwood's Cameron Vocke, Withrow's Da'Shawn Farley. With a big performance tonight, Jude could make the leap from mountain hero to statewide phenomenon.
BOTTOM LINE: "We've been thinking about Johnson Central since the day after last year's state championship game," Highlands coach Dale Mueller said. All that preparation was for good reason. Highlands hasn't had many close calls during its run to three straight state titles, but the Bluebirds did play a close game at Johnson Central during the 2008 postseason - escaping with a 35-21 win. Johnson Central, which beat Covington Catholic 41-28 last week, should prove a pretty big hurdle for the Bluebirds. Highlands might be the favorite, but not by much.

I would take a 96-6 record anytime from 2004 to now and 6 straight State Titles.

That kind of sounds like tit for tat with Maryville. Maryville has 8 state titles just from 1998. I know that Alcoa from time to time beats Maryville but Maryville still holds a 56-23 win advantage over Alcoa. They both have been nationaly ranked quite a bit over the last few years, but overall Maryville has maintained a higher national ranking than Alcoa.

I understand why you want to make Alcoa sound like the superior team because they beat Bell, and you dont play Maryville. Play both and then make an honest unbiased statement.

Either way they are both phenominal programs , both being tied with 11 total state titles in Tennessee. The amazing thing is that they are both located in the same county (Blount) in Tennessee. Kind of Kentucky's version of Danville/Boyle Co., only probably better overall.

Not trying to make this a trivial counter claim back and forth issue. It's just that you said "NO ONE" beats Alcoa. That just wasn't entirely 100% correct.

Now back to a Highlands/JC discussion and let's not worry about either Bell Co., Alcoa, or Maryville. How's that?

You'll love the music if you are rooting for the Eagles. IS IT FRIDAY NIGHT YET? Let's get all the eastern Kentucky football fans to the nest to night to root on mountain football vs the great northern triangle.

Not so sure about the music, but Northern KY will be well represented in the mountains tonight as well! Should be a great game.

Are we to 10 yet?

Go Birds...Beat Golden Eagles!

I don't know about the music but the double post may do it.
I think JC picks off Towels a few times and the Eagles come away with the huge victory, 27-21.
