Jack I'm not calling you out on this post but you also said that no one would rush over a 100 yards against Boyle's defense. Well that didn't hold true. Now we're saying that they won't run wild against Boyle's defense. I have no doubt that Boyle has a very good defense but it's way overstated. And now that someone rushed over the 100 yard mark we change it to they won't run wild. There's some good teams out there that will run against Boyle or anyone else's defense. I like exchanging posts with you so I hope I didn't offend you with this post. That wasn't my intent. And of course, since I'm a Bell fan, if Christian is as good as Bell like you said they might be. Boyle is in trouble. Bell has there hands full this week against Harlan County as well. But, if Christian is possibly as good as Bell, I wish I could see this game.

No offense taken.Boyle had some starters out on defense last week one was Zach hester he plays middle line backer, and alot of the Boyle faithful think hes as good as Lamar.Chris cook another starting line backer struggled most of the game with injuries, and was carried off the field late in the game.one of our biggest and best d-lineman dislocated his shoulder midway thru the second quarter.not taking anything away from East but Boyle is pretty banged up on defense.i will say this years defense is as good if not better than last years when healthy.Bell did not run the ball on us with any success at all last year.so that should tell you what kind of defense Boyle has this year.and what Bell will be facing if they meet in the playoffs.good luck with the rest of the season.

I find it very hard to believe this defense is better than last years just from the scores I have seen?
I have not seen Boyle 1 time in person so I am just looking from a statistically standpoint.

In 2009 Boyle gave up an average of 9.3 pts per game over the course of 15 games.
This year, 2010, Boyle is giving up an average of 12.0 pts per game over the course of 9 contests thus far. Of course 59 of those points came in the first three games which means the Rebels have surrendered only 37 pts in the last 6 games.
You are correct William in a statistical analysis the Rebs are giving up 3 more per contest.
The only factor I could add to the stats would be that Boyle's schedule this year has had only one non-winning record among the 10 after 9 games.
In 2009 Boyle faced 3 teams in the regular season who sported losing records.

No doubt Boyle has/had a good defense. I never questioned that. I just question the philosophy behind it all and the statements that have been changed recently. I remember well when it was said that no one would rush for over a 100 yds. against the Boyle defense. Now it has changed to no one will run wild agaist Boyle's defense. That's all I'm saying. I'm not big on stats because of varied schedules of all teams. I will tell your faithful if they think Hester is as good as Dawson they're delusional. And that's not knocking Hester in the least. He's a good linebacker in his own right but he is no Dawson.
I'm certain Boyle will be there to beat for the state title. I know of their excellence without one single doubt. I look forward to seeing you guys again. Hopefully neither team will stumble in getting there. It should be another classic between the two. Good luck the rest of the season.

Ill stick to my guns when our D is healthy no one will run the ball with much success.we are giving up fewer rushing yds.per game this year.if you saw hester play week in,and week out you may change your opinion.he may not be as good as Dawson, but he is not far behind.

I understand what you're saying but being healthy is never guaranteed. They're is teams out there that can have success against Boyle on the ground. That is a given. You can't base it on the games you've played so far. You can get an idea of how good you are but that definitely doesn't mean no one can move the ball against Boyle with their rushing game. It can happen and it already has. But I'll not take away a thing from Boyle's defense. I won't take anything away from their team in general. But I will also tell you or anyone else that other teams have very good defenses as well. There's many variables in seeing how many yards you give up per game. Like I said, I look to see you guys in a few weeks. It should be a dandy. Let's hope neither stumble on the way to that game. And we all know, during playoffs anything can happen.

Several quotes in this thread remind me of an old saying, that I believe President Lincoln quoted quite often.
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt".
On the other hand, all this hate for Boyle makes me feel good. Reminds me that we are at the top of the heap with a few other schools.

I think it will be ineresting to see how many fans will show up on the visitor side Friday night. I doubt very many. Fans with the intellect of cctiger can not find their own stadium, much else an opposing team's. Boyle's fans outnumbered the home team Christian county about 5 to 1 last year down there.

First off, cctiger is NOT a Christian County fan. I can't even imagine the team that would claim him. Second, your crowd was not large at all last year. Granted, ours was bad that game, but still outnumbered yours by atleast 3 to 1 but is should have been 20 to 1. Christian County normally travels between 150 to 300 people depending on the year which will be about the same as you did last year. Our crowd will grow larger if/as we advance through the playoffs. Sadly, I won't be able to make it to this game. I think it has potential to be a very good game, but I still think both coaches will sit players if there is any question about injuries just as last year.

Once a Colonel,
I have agreed with everything you have said on this thread until the comments about the crowd size. I wouldn't say ours was large but we did outnumber the home side quite a bit. I counted. To be exact it was just shy of 3 to 1.
