I love how HC has got on the band wagon of resting players to save them for the playoffs. It seems like they've forgot that Bell won the district as well and are just making excuses for that whipping their fixing to take friday night. Belly on easy street after halftime.

I haven't seen anything on here about Harlan County making excuses!
We all know this is Harlan and Bell, we have been waiting for this all year!
How dare we get on here and talk about the teams we love how dare we!:dontthink
I thought that was what this site was about.
And too say that Bell routs for HC and HC routs for Bell durning the year how could you. Both countys hope the other lose and have for years, there is no love for either county. :devilflam
To say Bell's not going to bring their best is dumb and the same goes for Harlan County! We in Harlan see the big picture, its going to be a long playoff for us, but not for Bell. This is the state champ game for us. It's a matter of pride, respect and just down hate!
A peaceful game :dontthink I don't think so!
I can tell you now we will not bend over and down for the ol'mighty Bobcats, nor will we ever!
That being said I think it will be a great game!

Why do people keep posting pictures of Grizzly's????? HC is black bears!!!!!! You know the bears that eat nuts and berries and run when you clap your hands too loud or yell at them? The ones that sift through garbage cans? Now those are black bears!

How many starters did Harlan Co. lose?
The score last year was Bell 41 HC 14
Bell had 367 yards rushing
HC had 150 most coming in the 4th quarter if I remember.

I'd hate to think that a fan of their own team can't predict a win and not get called out on it.
These teams do not love each other, it is a rival game that has been played 1 time. As fans people should be able to root for their own team without getting slammed for. One day Bell County will lose, it may not happen Friday, it may not happen in 2010, but one day they will lose. So all the people who constantly keep saying 'keep dreaming' or 'you must kidding' when a score is predicting a Bell County loss will have to eventually face reality.
I'm sure some Bell County poster is about to post, "Well we aren't going to face reality this week". Go ahead and have it.
I'm not sure about Bell County but Harlan County is extremely banged up, no excuses just the truth. It isn't like HC fans just started saying that this week or something. It has been a season long fiasco for the Blackbears as far as severe injuries are concerned and it started in a scrimmage game and seems to rear it's ugly head each week.

I am a Bell fan, and I am excited to finally have a local rivalry back! It's good for the fans, players, and everyone involved. I grew up on Hwy 72, and had to see that Cawood bus go by every morning. So, here's to hoping for a barn-burner for all of us fans to enjoy.

I was looking in the Harlan Paper Saturday and I must have missed where it talked about injuries to the HC team. I know Smith injured his heel, sounds like it was minor and he will be fine for Friday. I also know they had a couple of running backs get injured at the beginning of the year. But surely you wouldn't try to ride that out.
3wishes I believe you need to focus more on your team then HC anyways??? Unless you plan on joining he staff next year? Which I see as a possibility

listen im the worlds biggest UK fan, but reality is they suck at football, so when im ask whos gonna win between UK and Florida? Even though I love UK the fact of the matter is UK is gonna get beat... Same way with Bell last year i picked us to get beat by Boyle and Alcoa and guess wat? WE DID... and Harlan Co. aint the only team with injuries, the injury bug haS HIT the bobcats, and Bell will be without Cory Davenport for the 3rd straight week this Friday..

Agreed. I think the "HATE" post kinda set the tone for this entire thread.
Harlan Co is banged up but so is everyone. Unfortunately the garbage can foragers has suffered some serious injuries, but those were very early.

Where did you get your info about Davenport being out this week I don't think that has been established yet. I think that you need to get a better resource.

tehot05 aka Dr. House , relax take a deep breathe and think about it here. He is a 17 year old who hasn't played the last two weeks. The team hasn't even met with the coaches yet and he hasn't even practice yet this week. How about we wait until after today which is only Monday I might add and see how he does at practice before we assess him.

It is good to know that if in case something serious was to happen, we could rely on some of the younger players to step in and carry the load along with JD

Should be a great atmosphere. Can't wait to go up and see the new HC stadium! This will be my first time up there, anyone care to share some info on the nice new venue for football I would assume it's awesome. I have been to the new gym and it is very nice.

Isn't this one at Cawood?
10-25-2010, 11:13 AM
yeah they play at the old cawood high school field. they ran out of money to build the athletic facilities when they were constructing the high school. however, they have begun work on a new baseball field. and possibly softball?

zaga_fan Wrote:Isn't this one at Cawood?
I have not heard this. Why would they not play at the new field?

All monies were spent on the Gym so they would have room to host the regional tourney.
