Congrats to the Rebels for a win over a very good offensive team. JJ Jude is the best running back Boyle has faced in a long long time. The JC quarterback was pretty slick as well.
Boyle's running game doesn't seem to have missed a beat and the passing game looked pretty good except for a few overthrown balls to wide open receivers. Defensively, Boyle's linebackers and the right side of the line didn't seem to make it off the bus. I never dreamed that anyone could run the ball right at Boyle like that. I only heard #5's name called once or twice or night. Not really a factor.
The blaring music was way over the top and that eagle screech sure was irritating. The hospitality was awesome. Very polite and gracious folks in Johnson County! Good luck to JC the rest of the way and GO REBELS!

Yeah, you are probably right. You probably know more than Urban Meyer, Les Miles and the 18 other D-1/BCS schools that have offered him a scholarship. They should all probably stop recruiting him now and pull their offers after this game.
Lamar could barely walk before the game due to an injury, amazing he was able to do what he did! And I would say that is the reason he didn't run it down their throat from the get go. Yes, I may add JC has improved or maybe just did better at home. I hope you win the rest of your games but don't cut down one of our kids because he is better than any kid in the country healthy!!::1:

This JC team will be fine; however, the schedule is very demanding!
Welcome to the best site in town! If you need anything, just let me know.

Dawson is a heck of a player Rebelmom 14 just not the best in the country. Pretty sure you meant in the state. Don't know about that either. I just hope he plays in the blue and white for the wildcats next year. Congrats to both teams, sounds like it was a good one.

You do know that I am a Rebel through and through and that my post was laced with sarcasm directed at the poster who said Lamar was no good. I thought you knew who I was seeing as how we are facebook friends and all. That's why the smilie that is giving a moon is at the beginning of my post. You quoted me but I am not sure if you meant to.
I was told Lamar was cramping up as soon as he got off the bus. He is and has always been our most notorious cramper for the past few years. No surprise there at all. He'll be fine.

Best player in the state, IMO. Who is better? Definitely the most sought after player in the state and definitely the closest bet in this year's class to play on Sundays. Will he win Mr. Football? I doubt it. If Rees can't win it I don't expect Lamar to.....but he should. Just like Rees should have won.
In Lamar's own words......"I'd rather defend the title than win Mr. Football."

I'm not arguing whether he is or isn't. I don't see all the top players in the state play and they also have many different positions they play as well. It's just hard to say when you don't see all the players you know. If you go by ratings he is at the top. So, from that standpoint he would be at the top of the list. I wish him well. I know I've enjoyed watching him play.
But I couldn't help mentioning the quote about him being the best player in the country. You gotta love football moms though. They'll stand the players no matter what.

Cool. No harm no foul.
And no doubt, you have to love football moms. They shoot first and don't ask questions at all.:redboxer: I have nothing but love for the football moms.:worthy::worthy: And the basketball moms also for that matter.

Let's just get Dawson in blue and white next year! That would be a huge commit for Uk. The kid can flatout play. No doubt he is the real deal. Definite pleasure to watch.
We need a forum designed for moms only......That would be something else. They get with it and make no bones about it.lol Gotta love 'em!

Both teams deserve accolades for what sounds like a great, great game.
Like Purple, I'm impressed that the Eagles' Offense did what they did. Boyle's secondary is going to need to grow up in a hurry it seems.
Should be a great matchup for JC with Bell County later in the year.
I'm also impressed with the fact Boyle put up 36 points in their first game. I think the offense returned only 4 starters. That bodes well for them.
Great first game where both teams played hard, performed well and still have some key things to work on.

First of all lets say it was an amazing game. On the other hand JC had some horrible missed tackles where they went for the big hit instead of wrapping up and it cost us big time. Also the score before halftime was very similar to what happened last yr against Bell. Both scores were devastating to the Eagles. Boyle has the best front seven i have ever witnessed at a high school level in our state but lets not get carried away with saying anyone on that field may play on Sundays. Running inside was impossible last night. Dawson is really good but with those other six front guys he looks a whole lot better. He was not the one man show I expected. With all that said i am very proud of the Eagle Nation. We will be there in the end and have our best chance to win a state title. I wish this game could have been played when heat wouldn't be a factor.

The only Front Seven I can recall being as good as Boyle's was the 92 Blackcats but I have only seen them on film lol. Boyle's Line play was great on D, The Linebacking corp was unbelieveable, The only problem was the secondary. Im sure though they will get it fixed very soon.

Hold on mommy instead of blabbing your mouth and accusing JC fans of cutting one of your kids you should do a little reasearch and realize that the poster who made the remarks about Dawson (RD11) is a Boyle County fan. Unbelievable....

All of you folks raving about Boyle's great D Line and Linebacker play must have watched a different game that I did. JC pretty much ran at will. Boyle got no penetration and pursuit was horrible. Give the Defense a D for the game. The Offense get's a solid B.

Bell Co pretty much returns alot from last years team that beat them 36-6 at their place. Really glad Davenport is back for us this year as a Junior and both fullbacks Hilton and Mills.
i am not a betting man, but would say they score more on them this year than last year. they had alot of problems at the beginning of the season holding on to the ball.

JC is definitely not the same team they were last year. I was really surprised by how well we were recieved there. You guys are a class act. It was a great game, little sloppy but good first game. I LOVE YOUR COLORS(course Im a little partial to black and gold Great atmosphere, some really nice kids! I think you guys (JC) will have a great year! Best of luck. Thank you for a awesome night in the mountains!:1:

Trust me compared to what JC's offense will do for the rest of the year they were anemic last night lol. Boyle's D did what no one will do for the rest of this year.

I agree. I know what I thought before the game and I'll give the defense a pass after this game. We won't face a team like this until the Bell County game. While I expected the defense to shut them down Johnson Central is one of the best teams in 5A. This how the game last year should have been.

Maybe or maybe not. Bell Co's team this year is 95% of the same team from last year, just more experienced. The seniors for Bell Co this year will be the winningest senior class EVER in the Mountains this season. Just like WYMT said last night Bell Co has the best D in the mountains year in and year out.

Personally I thought #93 for the rebels was by far the best player on the field. Don't know who he is but he played like a stud tonight. Congrats to both teams awesome game!!!

I don't think that any team on JC's schedule is going to hold them below 200 yards rushing in a game, as Boyle County did last night.
Aside from Bell, I am not sure any team remaining on the schedule has much of a shot of holding JC below 300 yards rushing - and JC is playing a pretty strong schedule. JC may lose a few more games but if it does, the games will more than likely be shootouts. Barring a blizzard or a monsoon, I just don't see JC losing in a defensive battle this season.

Congrats to Boyle Co. JC played another highly regarded team tough. JC obviously have there program rolling, but for them to go to the next level they need to beat a Boyle Co. or Highlands, etc.

Great game, from what I heard on the radio.Boyle Co. played like Boyle Co.IMO they score when needed and made stops on D when needed. Take nothing away from JC, your team played great and will be a big factor when playing for the 5A State playoffs.Lets hope the Coaches will get togather and make this a annual evert.GO REBELS and GOLDEN EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is an interesting claim.
I figured that honor might belong to the late 80's Pikeville, the mid 90's Breathitt team, or Corbin in the mid 70's, or even Lynch back in the early 60's or so.
Bell might be the "winningest team" (based on total wins) but I don't know about winning percentage. (Still they have a great winning % the last 3 years but so did the teams I mentioned above.)
