I wouldn't expect 20 attempts per game but yes i feel like there will be a few more pass plays designed this year with all the weapons we have on offense. I look for around 6-8 pass plays a game. I know that isn't many but its more than we usually run at JC. If those plays are somewhat successful it will make our running game that much better. If by some chance we do use Sanor at QB and JK Hall moves around in different formations we could throw 20 times a game in my opinion. He is a good QB just not explosive like JK. He would be throwing to JK, JJ, and TE Cody Parker. Hope that helps.

I can tell you that it's zero in the JC wins column for this series. The games I remember are three playoff losses (1995 something like 55-6,, 1997 14-10 in the last minute, and some other year that was 22-6) and last year's regular season loss. There may've been another, but it's something like 0-4 all time.

There's always an opportunity to win at a given time. Never say never!

Who will JC be scrimmaging this year. would love to see teams like Beechwood, Whitley, Pulaski, and Bryon station. That's to name a few.

Mark it down. JC will have a great team. They have a strong freshman class, and another strong freshman class coming in next year. This is the team this year and next.

Expect to see them throw the ball 12 to 15 times per game. However you must respect the fact that no one has been able to stop the ground attack. Even when they lost last year it wasnt because they couldnt move the ball. They were plague by the turnover bug which i am 100% sure that fumbles will not occur this year.

Once again as long as they hold on to the ball they have a chance to baet anyone.

Let it be made clear Matney and the Eagles are not afraid to play anyone. He is smart enough to know that a tough schedule prepares his team for the deep playoff runs that the team focus's on. To say that Matney would buy out of a contract is absolutely a slap in the face to a very outstanding christian man. Seems like to me your are just hating on him for no reason. Either that or you just have know idea what you a talking about.

Redneck Wrote:IMO, JC should go in the shotgun with Cody Parker at QB. The kid has a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder. Put JK Hall and JJ Jude in the backfield, one to each side of him, run draws and sweeps, speed options etc. with these two. Find some kids who can get down field and catch the ball. If anybody wants proof of how successful this offense can be, look back to Prestonsburg in 2001. They had one rush for over 2,000 yards (Matt Slone) and another go over 1,000 (Mikael Fannin), and the QB (Joey Willis) had almost 2,000 yards passin if I'm not mistakin.
If it aint broke dont fix it. The system he has in place has gotten deep into the playoffs year in and year out. WHy on earth would he change. Dont get my wrong i respect your opinion. And you will see a little gun from them this year. However when you can run the ball from under center and lead the state and sometimes even the nation in rushing why would you ever go away from it. He has proven that he can still move the ball up and down the field no matter how many players the other team puts in the box. IMO they dont need to change anything just mix in a little more pass plays to keep the defense off balance. But it goes back to what i said before why throw it when you dont have to. When you throw the ball 3 things can happen and 2 of them aren't good e.i you can catch it which is the only positive. And the to negitives are interceptions or drops.

Ahem. Against Boyle County last year Johnson Central rushed the ball 45 times and gained 88 yards! :yikes:
That is less than 2 yds per carry.
Now explain to me how they "moved the ball" last year in that game???? :please:

Let's not be indenial folks. Whether you like it or not, when Johnson Central lost to Boyle County last year it was because Boyle County was the better team. When Johnson Central lost to Highlands last year it was because Highlands was the better team. There are no excuses. You either got the job done or you didn't and in the case, they didn't.
However, that was last season. Johnson Central returns alot of talent for this incoming season and could very well be an extremely dangerous team. I expect them to be. I can't wait to see Johnson Central's place.

Boyle county was the better team last year. What i was trying to say was jc moved the ball well against everyone they play. Alot of the drives at boyle county were stalled by the rebels hard hitting defense. And you have to admit they jc put the ball on the ground alot in that game last year. Some of it was jc fault and some of it was due to the tough boyle defense. Lets face it both programs are among the elite in the state. Hopefully this year will be a good clean game on both sides of the ball.

One wonders about having to use freshman on varsity teams
JC has 3 freshman that could contribute at any team in the state . Now I'm not saying they would start but could be used to give upper class players a break. You have to remember that some of these kids have been hold backs at least once sometimes twice so really by age and maturity level as far has body size the are the same as sophmores and juniors. Just something to keep in mind. Remember i will not name any names but i will tell you central has 30 freshman out for the team. I think thats pretty impressive.

That's very impressive. Johnson Central will continue to have success with numbers like that coming out to play. But as Evil Eye said, let's hope they all say.
