Johnson Central 2010

College Basketball is vastly different than college football. Freshman regularly play basketball on the college level but are a rairity on football field.
Again if any football team relys on freshman to plug holes they are not one of the elite teams in any class
Hey, I'm not disagereeing with you. Get a grip on what I'm saying here bud. I just said sometimes there are exceptions, and I'm sure there are freshmen somewhere, on some team, in the state, even on some of the elite teams that get to play. I didn't say you built your program around them and vied for state titles.

Did you not read what I posted. I said that I doubted that any of the incoming 8th graders would be in that position, but you never know. It's very rare at JC even when we had the down years that a freshman even dresses varsity, let alone play. Like I said there are some huge kids coming up. You ever see any of them? Course you have not. Like I said every once in a while a Dennis Johnson type comes around. Sheesh.

:igiveup:yes there are exceptions but when other posts brag about the a "great 8th grade class coming in next year, and some could start at any high school next year "

One wonders about having to use freshman on varsity teams

No one said we were having to rely on any freshmen next year. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. I've watched this team for 2 years, and they lost 2 games at the beginning of their 7th grade year to 2 8th grade teams. They won their conference that year. This year they won their conference and the only loss came in the 3rd round of the state playoffs. I think the future looks bright with this class and with what is already there.
I wish you would stick to the thread and stop all the nonsense. I would love to discuss the JCHS football future without reading your junk.

I agree totally. Some of us who don't have armies of recruited talent from all around major cities need to use freshmen from time to time. (And before you say something about how all your kids are from Ft. Thomas: shut up, we don't really care. This is not about you. This is about us.)

How about the Gound kid? I have heard only good things. Did not get to personally see JCMS play this year, thanks to having to work for a living, but I heard he's a heck of an athlete. Heard good things about the other kids too but him especially. Where do you people who've actually seen him play see him fitting in on the field?

I think one of the biggest improvements for Zach was maturity. He was a leader on that team. I believe he could play QB, receiver, RB, Corner etc. He has good speed and has a good head on his shoulders.

It's been a few months, any thoughts on 2010?

It is VERY rare for the Birds to play a lower classified team. (with the occasional exception of Beechwood)

really if the khsaa website serve to be correct the 07,08 season you have play Central and Lexington Catholic which are 3a and 4a

Yikes.

I would just like the record to show that this thread was started by a Highlands fan who happens to hold the Johnson Central football program in VERY high regard.

Actually in both 07 and '08 Highlands played Dixie and Ryle which are both 6A schools and Trotwood Madison in '07 which is a Division II Ohio school and in '08 played Cincinnati Colerain which is a division I Ohio school .

Cincinnati Colerain in '08 was the only loss that the '09 senior class has had since freshman year which makes this past years senior classes 4 year record 54 - 1 since their freshman year. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

I really hate it when ignorant people open their mouths. If you don't know what you are talking about , DON"T SPEAK.

This is a JC thread but Boyle is not young. They will have the largest Sr. class in years and return 2/3's of their starters on both sides of the ball. Just FYI.

You missed the point of my post entirely. Misdirection is your friend.

Perhaps you didn't read all the previous posts which seem to indicate you somehow can't have a respectable football team if you play freshmen. That's a rather ignorant claim to make in itself.

Johnson Central should be very good next season, I dont see anyone in there ditrict putting up much a fight.

Anything new going on?

Much stronger than last year. The D may end up as one of the best in school history. Once again the o-line is a little shaky. More depth this year as well, which should help in the playoffs. If the Skaggs kid is playing we should be even better. We will have a ton of options on the offense as well. High hopes for this bunch of kids this year.
#82
Skaggs was a LB last year where do you think he will play this year?
#83
LB or even DB
#84
Does JC have strong line this coming season?
#85
Line should be better than last year with more depth. Overall Depth and skill level is much better.

Yes I did and yes I do. Very high regard.

A tip to Diogenes: if you don't want posters to talk about other programs in a JC thread, don't fire misguided shots at their programs. It works much better in keeping the thread on track.

This should be a great year at JC, and it cant get started fast enough. I can hear the music and smell the food. I love being around the people that support the kids and the county. JCHS has become the best football atmosphere any where I have been.
#88
Im going to throw a rinkle in things. Rumor has it Matney wants Skaggs to work out as QB. As of now they are trying to talk him into playing. LC was going to let Skaggs run the ball this year he is strong and dont care to lay the wood. One thing for sure he defiantly is a pure athlete and i heard he can throw.

He played LB/ DB at LC and lead in tackles last year. He would make a great addition to JC but will he play? BB is his thing, therefore he might want to work with his new coach on getting adjusted to the system.
#89
It would make for an amazing offense if he plays QB. That would mean JJ Jude, Tanner Bratton, and JK Hall in the backfield. I would hate to be a defense trying to stop that combo. JJ and JK are both legitimate threats to take it all the way on every carry and Tanner is a Mandozer who i would not want to tackle. Taking nothing away from Hall because he is a good QB but give him an extra step to see the field from the RB position and he will be amazing. Not saying we will win state but this coming year regardless of who plays where is gonna be the best chance JC has ever had to win a state title.
