Neerfan, win a state title and then you won't have to keep defending your team. The trophy will speak for itself.

Also, I don't think SK would beat Trinity either. It'd be a close game but St. X and Trinity are the top two teams in the state in 6A, IMO. Sk is a close third.
SK is in the top 5 in the state without classification. Highlands, St. X, and Trinity are better. And any given Friday they would all beat SK

Thats the great thing about opinions everybody has one. But the rankings that where posted were from the courier journal and are the combined opinions of many which seem to out number the few of you here. Again i dont make them just posted them and again here is the order ST X #1, SK #2 and Highlands #3. Sorry girls but thats what they are. Believe me I would love to see all the titles come home to NKY but you few make it very hard to root for Highlands when all you do is slam every other team out there. Get real and root for all the NKY teams not just yours and support them all not just yours.

Not a public poll, but this Highlands fan is one of eight. That leaves 7 Simon Kenton fans?:eyeroll:

Why do you think everybody is slamming your team just because they do not pick them to win or think they are better than Highlands? It is great that you think your team is better than HHS, but alot of people don't. You get all bent out of shape over this and basically call anybody who does not agree with you a jerk. Keep cheering for your team and if they continue to win the accolades will come your way. SK has a great team, but if you where at the HHS/ST X game, you might understand why people are so high on this team. You keep mentioning the polls from Lexington and Louisville, and if SK stays a top team over the coming years, you will find out that those polls are very unkind to NKY teams and can only take them with a grain of salt. Stop worrying so much about what others are saying about your team and enjoy the great (and long overdue) seasons your team has been having!

Polls can be found to be certain peoples opinions and just that. Unfortunatley for Highlands this poll puts them behind SK. Not much I can do about that now is there?
If we played them and beat them then we would have to be ranked nationally wouldn't we. But that will not happen unfortunatley cause I know this SK team could do it and I believe you know it too just dont want to admit it.:lmao:
Yeah, i would have to agree with ya there!

I know you didn't do the poll; you are just posting what you read, but if my understanding about the Lit is accurate ( in that they don't take into affect games against out of state opponents), the Lit rating you reference would not include X's loss to Cinti X or the Highlands wins against Cinti X or Withrow. If my understanding is correct, I'd think the ratings would be different if those games against out of state opponents were considered.
PS: Go Neers!

Almost? Almost does not count in football. Manual ALMOST beat X but they did not. SK won the game. It was not an almost. It was not a blowout but they won.

SK fans have a short memory. Less than 10 years ago you were ready to run Coach Marksberry out of Indepences - now he's the greatest and your team is the best. You have a fine team this year but ..........

Glad you can spell NKY , not all SK fans felt that way about coach Marksberry. He is doing a fine job of developing young men on and off the field. Our team being the best in NKY is debatable. BTW for future reference it's I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-C-E.:moon:

Silly me, I thought this thread was about SK vs X.
X does have the deeper and better team of the two. Simpson is a stud and Lawrence compliments him well running the ball. SK has a good offensive line, lead by Hansel, but the rest of the o line is pretty good also. However, I just don't think that SK can beat X by primarily running the ball, which has been SK's strength this season. X will present SK with the best run defense SK has faced this year.
SK is going to have to be able to pass the ball extremely well. Lawrence is a decent passer and he has some nice receivers, but I just don't think their passing game is quite good enough to beat X.
X has a lot of speed on O this year, which is unusual for X. Yes they've had some fast running backs in the past (think Anderson and Deuce), but they have a lot more speed on O than usual. Plus with Buehner back and healthy, X's offense is much more multi dimensional.
Plus the game is at X. Homefield advantage does mean something. It really does.
It should be a relatively close game (X by 14). But if X makes some mistakes and has some turnovers, and SK does not, SK can win this game. I just don't expect X to make a lot of mistakes this year.
But I will pulling for the Pioneers all the way. If they can get past X, I think they have a great chance of winning 6A. I know Trinity has been playing better as of late, but if what I read is correct (they have a freshman and sophomores starting), that really tells me a lot about the strength of their team this year (and I don't care how good the frosh and sophomores are. A school the size of Trinity should never rely on a frosh to start and rarely have one sophomore starting). But first things first. Go Neers, beat those big city Tigers.

There you have it. Now you can start showing more of your disrespect towards myself and the rest of the SK fans here.
