People are going to be surprised when they see how much bigger Ric has gotten since March. His whole upper body has gotten noticeably bigger.

A kid from 7 colleges?? Don't let his head get bigger than he is. He should think about education, his career, what do they have to offer other than ball playing?!! Good Luck

Anyone who knows Ric knows he is a great STUDENT-athlete. I'm somewhat confused by your post?

Ricardo is a bright kid, very mature for his age. He's not arrogant one bit. Everyone who deals with him on a personal level comes away impressed. He will make the best choice for him and his family, you can trust that.

Ricardo Johnson Basketball Diary
By: Ricardo Johnson

This is the first part in a series of posts written by Ricardo Johnson about his life, recruitment, and pursuit of back-to-back KY State Championships.

In this edition Ricardo recaps last year, updates his recruitment, and gives us a look into the upcoming 2009-2010 season.

Dear Fans,
Last year’s state championship was hard work. Becoming a good basketball player and a good team isn’t easy. It takes working out every day. Doing the little things. Sometimes I’ll even do push ups and sit ups at home, knowing they’ll make a difference in my game.

How hard you work could help you reach your goals. It could result in winning awards such as a state championship, state tourney MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year. You could also be recruited by some of the top basketball programs in the country. Once upon a time, I was hearing from Xavier, UC, Oklahoma State, Butler and many more.

I recently took an official visit to Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Being my first visit, and traveling alone, I liked it. It reminded me so much of Covington and Cincinnati and how they are close to one another. To me the campus was like Holmes High School…on a hill, not too big, not too small, but just right.

This experience is so unique. I have more visits to look forward to.

I’m also looking forward to another hard working season and earning another State Championship. We can achieve it with the hard work of my teammates and the time we put in the gym.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

Sincerely,

Ricardo Johnson
