I read that JC fans do not travel to away games because it is to far to drive. I can tell you that Highlands fans have already been making plans for the 3 hour trip to JC. Can you tell me how big the stadium is and do you have natural grass or turf? Hope alot of the JC fans show up to see this team; it is one of the top 15 teams ever at Highlands.
I think that we bring a good crowd every where we go. I know I for one go to all the games away or home. The field at JC is turf and this is the 2nd year we have enjoyed it. Trust me JC knows who highlands is, but understand that people from Highlands puts their pants on the same way we do. If they do win it will be anything but a cake walk. That is why we play the game!

I think you are going to be surprised how easily Highlands will handle JC. We do not put our pants on the same way as most of the state. Kids start talking about playing for HHS,and start playing with good coaches in the second grade. We eat and sleep football like the rest of the state does basketball (by the way, we are not very good in basketball.). Out kids practice football year round. The day after they won state last year, the entire team was back in the weight room. I also see very few coaching staffs that can compare to HighlandsJ( BG, St X, Trinity, can). I do not know alot about your coaches, but I do know they run a very small offensive game plan compared to Highlands. That makes it much easier to defend, and our offense harder to defend. You will have to open up your passing game agianst Highlands to move the ball. I am not trying to be cocky, it is just hard to understand the love, desire and dedication to football in Fort Thomas, unless you have lived up here to see it. You can not honostly look at the two schools schedules and past experience, and not think Highlands will be a big favorite. I read a Louisville paper a couple weeks ago who picked Highlands by 3to4 TDS,if the game happens( Thats an unbiased oppinion). I do think you will win the first 2 rounds, and I am looking forward to coming down to see your facilities, your team, and that part of the great state of KY

I am not a JC fan actually, but I will be for them throughout the rest of the season. I too would have to agree with you about the passion of NKY and Highlands when it comes to football. I know you guys up North aren't that great at basketball, but usually have football powerhouses. I would also have to agree with you that Highlands would be a favorite in a matchup with JC. But JC has one of the best football teams in their history and they are a powerhouse this season in their own right. Highlands would most likely win this one, but they would definitely go home knowing that they had to work hard for it. But on a given night, you never know. The Eastern Kentucky teams knock off your Northern Kentucky teams ever so often. I'm certainly looking forward to watching this game regardless of the outcome.

Come on sstack. Lets not come on too strong (and in this Highlands fan's perspective, yes you are being cocky). And while you are correct about that tradition and schedule stuff, you just might want to remember what Rockcastle did to us in 2002 and the very tough games we've had against Bell and Belfry over the years. And let me also tell you, there are more and more schools doing the year round training that Highlands does. there are more and more kids dedicating themselves to football. JC is a school where you will find such. Assuming we play JC, the Birds will have a very tough game on their hands.

Believe me Coach Matney knows Highlands. He had the oppertunity to play probally the best team that Highlands has ever feilded. That was at SC. I can assure you it wasn't the fact that Highlands was such a beast in the weight room that won the game. In fact that team was much weaker than SC. But where SC only had 30 players and most of which were sophmores highlands brought 100 players. Matney does not suffer from the lack of depth at JC that he did in martin county. I can't wait to see this match up myself.

yes it is quite rare especially with some of the refs they get. If it would have been a close game JC would have lost. anyone remember the infamous fieldgoal a few years back?

I do believe Belfry will put a game for a while but in the fourt JC wins by at least 2 TDs.
