Dag gummit it, Tradition has let the secret out of the bag!
Actually and from a Highlands fan perspective, I'm not sure the Highlands Olinemen work any harder than any other position on the team. Yes, there is a bunch of heavy work involved with the linemen, but they do a lot of running too. Tradition wasn't kidding by the way. Actually, they do a couple of drills that are even more intense, but I'm not disclosing any more secrets. Suffice it to say that there is a good reason why you will very rarely ever see a Highlands O linemen with any thing close to resembling a belly.
While the O linemen are doing their stuff, the receivers are running a lot of routes full speed. If they coast, they lose their spot. And there is very, very little standing around. Running backs are continually running their plays full speed. Same result as for the receivers if the running backs coast. I've watched our receivers and running backs in practice and wonder how in the heck they can make it to the locker room after practice. QBs probably have the least physically exhausting practice, but probably the most mentally exhausting practice.
On D, every position runs and runs some more. Highlands generally has small D linemen that are expected to be able to run as much as the lbers and secondary, so they get no slack cut for them.
The easiest practices belong to the full time kickers for sure.
